Elegant, peaceful, heavily French influenced, colorful, fresh ingredients. Our server was super friendly and on par as far as recommendations and food knowledge.
The ambiance is upscale. Dimly lit, white tablecloth. An older crowd, very classical music. It felt fancy, but yet my party and I were all comfortable in "business casual" attire. If you're any type of foodie, don't miss this place, regardless of age, music choices, etc. They do French cuisine right.
My friends and I shared six or seven dishes from the Land, Sea, Earth and Heaven menu. Have to admit...the "theme" could go...it didn't add anything to the meal. Top of the menu had lighter fare, moving down moved into more entree sized dishes. We picked six dishes from various parts of the menu and they paired them together in courses for a completely well-rounded experience.
We began our meal with two delicious salads. Freshly shaved fennel, sea scallops, bright greens. Both were delicious and a light start to a meal that was building with flavor.
Next course: ling cod with gnocchi and roasted fennel in this AMAZING hollandaise sauce (to die for, give me a loaf of bread please). Wasn't a huge fan of the gnocchi, wanted it to perhaps be cooked a tiny bit more...but that sauce...well I could've put just about anything in there and been happy. We also shared a beet risotto with hazelnut and asparagus. The flavors all worked divinely together.
And the final course: veal sweetbreads in this light, delicate vegetable ragout. Complimented the sweetbreads so nicely. Think a lightly sweet corn salsa. Chilled, tomato and pepper and fresh corn. So delicious scooped up with a sweetbread. Delish! And those St. Louis ribs. The guy in the group was a huge fan. Little too messy for me, but I did eat every last apricot from the plate.
Dessert was beautifully presented. The sugar glass was like cotton candy and the raspberry flan had an interesting texture, different from what I've had before. It was great.
