In 2024, the original location of Petit Trois, on Highland Ave in Hollywood, celebrates 10 years as a beloved, can't miss part of LA's dining scene. Chef/Owner Ludo Lefebvre puts his spin on classic French flavors including the cult-favorite Big Mec burger, swimming in rich Bordelaise sauce, perfectly roasted Heritage chicken with compressed potatoes fried in clarified butter, a French Dip sandwich served with a version of the restaurant's onion soup for dipping, and lots more. Start with the restaurant's housemade baguette served with the creamiest French butter and pair it all with wine from the restaurant's thoughtfully curated list, which includes 16 by the glass options. With a design inspired by classic Parisian bistros, Petit Trois transports guests in its 2 dining areas as well as an outdoor patio. The dining room is also available for private events.

The food & the service… Chefs kiss! I had a Birthday lunch with a friend and the staff was sweet and accommodating. We enjoyed our time here. The outdoor space was neat & clean

We love petit trois! We sat at the chefs counter and watched our meal being made. Great experience, very kind staff.

We visited for a birthday celebration brunch right before heading to the airport, after reading and hearing so much about the establishment and seemed fitting for such occasion. Overall, the ambience outdoors was inviting and bright. The food was exquisite. The service was generally good and our server was generally attentive, but the speed of which was analogous to the restaurant’s iconic logo in LA traffic, probably more suited for French-style leisurely meal indeed (albeit with two errors that were rectified swiftly, and ended up needing to take our food to go and get a flight change since making the original flight was impossible).

To be fair we actually ate at Trois Mec, one of the 10 days the Chef Ludo reopened this side since 2020. It was great all the way around. I have been to the Petit Trois in the Valley but will go back to the original as it had a great patio.

Our table was open but not yet set up when we arrived a little late for our reservation. We had called and ha indicated that traffic was very heavy. Service was slow but very friendly. Most menu items are vastly overpriced, even for LA. A small baguette cost $10; a smsll cup of French onion soup cost $25. A very plain ham and cheese sandwich on a small baguette with just a couple slices of each and no condiments or dressing, served with frites, was also $25; $38 for a double cheeseburger. The restaurant was out of every type of beer my son ordered. "Tony" had indicated that my son would be comped for the "Bad Hombre" beer that he brought over but instead we were charged for a beer the restaurant did not have. We did not notice this until later as we had to get my son to the airport and were rushing. The only item worth the price was the $14 chocolate mousse. We would not return.
