We were the only table in the restaurant and could not get service. 12 of us drinking either bottles of wine or straight liquor and waited 20 minutes for each round. Every time the bottle came out no glasses were delivered. When trying to pay the bill the waitress was mia for ten minutes. Brought cards to the bar and they just told us to wait. Food was immaculate which was a plus. There is a complete disconnect between back of house and all (the only) front of house staff.

My family and I ate at Petit Lion before going to the Orpheum Theater for a concert. The menu is simple but the food was well prepared. I enjoyed the roasted chicken with the greens and grits.

Came here before a U2 concert at the dome, very convenient location. My meal was not that great but the everyone else liked there's. The staff seemed over not prepared or staffed for the demand that night but nothing terrible just a little slow. Not t sure about couch seating as part of the table.

I've eaten here several times, and have always had great service and exceptional food and drinks. I usually sit at the bar, where the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. As a seasoned veteran of the food and beverage industry, I can recognize good value when I see it - and Petit Lion offers truly great value, with high-quality, beautifully executed dishes at very reasonable prices. Shout out to Kyle, our lovely bartender for the evening, and the amazing kitchen staff members who took the time to speak to me about my dietary needs and even held onto their last order of sweetbreads for me as I waited for my friend to arrive! (Those sweetbreads were heavenly, by the way.) Thanks, y'all. I'll be seeing you soon.

Although it was suggested that a reservation was needed, there was only one table in use, so I would not have had to make my way there at a specific time. The food was rather on the expensive side and the portions were very small. It was not very tasty. But the waitress took very good care of me.

The place was ok. I had high hopes because of the chef.... The steak with pepper sauce was a perfect medium rare and very tender but the pepper sauce wasn't my favorite, maybe because I had just eaten one of my friends mussels which were made with coconut milk and curry. The mussels were not for me. I usually love mussels but these had too much curry! The wine was delicious and the service was sweet and very attentive. But there were only 3 other tables on a Friday night. The hotel has a beautiful roof top that isn't affiliated with the restaurant. Overall, I can't imagine going back any time soon.

I had high expectations since I heard this was a Phillip Lopez restaurant. For a Sat. night the restaurant was almost empty. The menu was very limited and the decor was too casual. I felt like we were in a lower end hotel chain restaurant. Very disappointing.

Petit Lion is a wonderful blend of modern and traditional sensibilities tucked in the heart of the CBD. Chef Lopez' menu is grounded in classic French concepts, while showcasing the flavors and ingredients native to New Orleans cuisine. I loved everything we tried and cannot wait to return.

The food was fine but the price point did not match the quality. I thought this would be a lively/happening place on a Saturday night but was completely shocked as it was empty at 7:30pm and we were the only people there... Overall, the service was great but not 5*, they were very accommodating and welcoming. Food choices were few but what we did order came out on time and as ordered as one should expect. From my local's perspective, they may want to rethink the menu and cost. Everything was $3-$5 more than what it should have been besides the drinks. Unless they change something, I'm probably not coming back, it's not worth the extra money and there are plenty more options in this city.

Philip Lopez never disappoints. The foie gras app, the always amazing caviar topped deviled eggs, and the sound vide steak!! I mean, the steak was maybe the best ever! Outstanding! And you can't go wrong with a root beer float. Thanks y'all. We'll be back soon!!

We are locals and were excited to try a new brunch spot, but we were greatly disappointed. Out of Bloody Mary mix, didn't know how to make a Paloma, out of omelets, out of crabmeat - which was half the small menu. Out of bagels. We ordered crabmeat deviled eggs...no one told us they were out of crabmeat. Eggs came back runny, undercooked, and sour. Croque monsieur had soggy, stale bread, runny sauce, and curdled cheese. It was terrible, the only place that we have ever walked out on. The only saving grace was the lovely and very patient waitress.

We are locals, headed for a night at the symphony & this was a nearby choice. Maybe our most unremarkable dining experience in New Orleans. This looks and feels like a hotel restaurant. Service staff ill-dressed, too casual & very slow to appear at our table. A competent woman saved the day by recognizing this & comping our cocktail order, so kudos to her. She helped expedite the order after that. Food was acceptable for anywhere but NOLA.

Went to Petit Lion for dinner on a Wednesday night. The place is very nicely decorated -- sofas, big pillows on the banquette. The menu is small. We started with specialty cocktails which were well crafted. We then had the pickled shrimp and the smoked trout rilette. The shrimp were large and fresh, but could have used more flavor -- more acid, more heat, more seasoning. Also, they were head on, which was rather messy. The trout rillette was a smoked trout spread with a sweet tomato relish on top. The rilette was very good, but I would have preferred not to have the sweet element. I had the redfish as my entree and my dinner companion had the steak au poivre. Both were excellent. The steak au poivre was made with hangar steak. We were skeptical, but it was tender and flavorful. Service was another story. The waitress didn't seem to know much about the food and couldn't pronounce the names of the dishes. The staff were dressed like they were going to hang out at the Fly. The restaurant is very nice and the staff should be dressed accordingly. Some dishes had sauces made with cognac or Calvados and after dinner we asked to see an after dinner drink menu. They don't have one, but the waitress didn't know that. She asked the bartender and came back and said they could make us an Irish coffee, which is not what we had in mind. My companion went to talk directly to the bartender. They do have Calvados, armagnac and brandy, but he had no idea how much it cost. Also, the kind of music they were playing didn't seem to fit the theme of the restaurant and it was too loud. It's supposed to be a French restaurant. The music should evoke the place. At 9:00, live music started in the upstairs bar and you could hear it in the restaurant. It was also too loud and not at all evocative of France, but the band was so good that we went up after to listen and were glad we did. The rooftop is great, too. Bottom line - very good food, service needs polishing.

Petit Lion was a great experience. From our great server, through a great pickled shrimp stater to the mussels cooked in a light curry entree, topped off by great cocktails, this was well worth the 15 minute walk from our hotel in the French Quarter. I can't recommend Petit Lion highly enough.

This is my first "meh" review. My fourth time here, and based on this reservation, I wouldn't recommend it. The service was not nearly as attentive as it should have been, and more than one request was forgotten. The food was good, when they finally brought it. We had to ask for things two or three times; we asked for our leftovers to be wrapped up, and only half of them were (which I only found out the next day). So, meh.

Despite a fire alarm (which turned out to be s false alarm) that had us evacuate the building for 20-30 minutes, it was a delightful evening. The management rewarded us all will champagne when we were able to return to our table. Our waiter David was quite accommodating. The food was outstanding. I highly recommend the foie Gras appetizer. The steak au poivre and the sea bass were excellent as well. Kudos to Chef Ben and the kitchen staff. We look forward to returning soon.

Very disappointed.. ordered the moules frites. Frites came out cold, sent them back. Only 1/2 of the moules were open and edible. Was told the chef could redstream them and we could take them with us . We were on the way to a concert, and that certainly wasn't an option. Would have appreciated a sincere apology and reduction in price, since could only eat 1/2 of my meal and were on a tight time frame, which was stated at beginning of the meal.

We chose to eat at Petit Lion because of its proximity to the Smoothie King Center. The menu choices were very limited. We both had a salad and the hamburger, and they were both delicious. Once the server decided to pay attention to us, the service was quite good. The restaurant is very noisy.
