Perry's Steakhouse & Grille - Downtown Austin
Book your next event with us
Our experience was absolutely perfect. Service was excellent. The seafood tower was quite grand. My wife’s chateaubriand was perfect and my black and bleau tenderloin was awesome. We do not live anywhere close and our biggest regret is we cannot return soon.
Perry’s is one of our favorite places to eat in Austin. We had friends in from out of state and they loved it too. We will be back again for sure.
The service was great, the food amazing! Only drawback for me was the table used by staff with serving empties only about four feet from my table. That did take away from the experience a bit having wait staff constantly putting empties in my dining space.
Everything was wonderful! Two of us had the filet mignon and it was cooked absolutely perfectly and the peppercorn crust was delicious. We also had one of the best sesame crusted ahi tuna’s ever! The service was wonderful and the ambience was great.
Waiter inattentive and succinct. No explanation where sauces were or types on seafood tower!!!! Water and bread not filled!!!
Our server was exceptional, very professional and came across as highly enthusiastic about ensuring our evening was special; indeed it was.
My 10oz filet was good, but I’ve definitely had better cuts with more flavor. The creamed butternut squash was amazing and I definitely recommend it.
Next time we attend an event at the Theater, we will return.
Worst time ever there. Usually sit in bar, enjoy the piano and Bernie the entertainment. Not this time. New singer who was just bad, and loud. I can do with one but not together. Add to that a table of 12 or so drunk guys on their one night out on expenses who thought shouting Garth Brooks lyrics would be appealing. Made for a terrible meal. Lots of steak places in Austin. This has been our groups stop for a few years. Guess it’s time to look around.
We had a very good time. The pork chop was superb! It was 32 ounces so we will make a second meal from what we brought home. Also excellent were the bacon wrapped scallops and lobster bisque. The Caesar salad was good but overdressed. The fried asparagus was okay but had too much breading for our taste. Our server was excellent. Other reviews say the noise level is too loud. It was not quiet by any means but I’ve been in louder restaurants. We will return to try some other dishes.
We had a great server who guided us to all the right dishes.
A fantastic way to celebrate with coworkers. Everyone will be happy! Even if you don't get along during the regular work day :-)
Poek chop never fails to satisfy. Loved this downtown location.
Food was outstanding and delicious prices are good aswell just the noise level was a bit too loud. Other than that I recommend this location 5/5
Great food, great place, good steaks. Ambiance was very nice, all the servers were engaging and attentive.
This was our 1st visit to Perry's, and it really delivered on what we expected. The steaks were among the best we've ever had -- butter-basted and perfectly cooked -- and the wine (Perry's own "Big Red Blend") was an excellent complement to the meal. The only negative point for us was the loud cheesy music playing when we arrived at 6:30; we were really relieved and able to relax into the comfortable ambience of the restaurant when it finally stopped. On the whole, though, Perry's ranks with the best steakhouse meals we've had in the last 40 years!
Food took too long to receive after ordering. Mgr came by and apologized. my steak was ordered Medium (waitress indicated this would be slight pink in the center), however, it was rare (red throughout). Other party members steaks were cooked to order. Also, the filet had some gristle running through it. Given the prices, it should not have gristle. Had many good dining experiences at Perry's, however, this was not one of them. Disappointing night
Pork chop was delicious! Live piano player was lovely :)
Lunch $$$ are great on Friday
Restaurant is very clean Servers are very nice and professional also Hostesses are Wonderful!!!!
My favorite Restaurant Downtown
The Friday lunch is always a treat to share with family, friends and business associates.
My friend and I celebrated our bdays on Fri. 1/3. However, our waitress was not on board with providing a good customer experience. It was almost as she was on a mission to sabotage our order. She made sly remarks, faces, and was adamant in getting everyone in our lunch party's order incorrect. It was quite terrible to wait around for 1 hour just to get her to take our food and beverage order. When the food finally came out the food was distributed incorrectly at the table and some of the orders including cocktails were incorrect. I finally had to tell another waitress in order to help the attention of a manager on duty to intervene. Perry's food is always excellent however the waitress we encountered was a nightmare.
We visited Austin for the Christmas/ NY holidays and wanted something relaxing but enjoyable to ring in the new year. We thoroughly enjoyed the wedge salad, beautifully presented pork chop and perfectly cooked filet accompanied by a perfectly mixed Strait Paloma. They were even so kind as to package up our desserts and give us our complimentary champagne a few minutes before midnight so we could move on with our evening. Highly recommended for any occasion.
No What we expected for a New Years dinner/celebration.
It seemed that we had to eat fast and leave just right after 12:00am... our server left before us... a $900 dollars dinner was totally not worthy.
This just for my family of 5.
Our server Skylar , met every perfect expectation of a professional high end server . Even bringing my compliments on the perfect food to chef Juan Serrano who came tableside to greet us ...
The sides and our steaks where better than ever and I’m hard to please.
in short it was above and beyond perfect 😁
We went for New Years Eve. The restaurant had a special menu for that night. It was ver full. We had to wait about 15 min for our reserved table to become available. The service was good considering the number of people, but not great.
The food was fantastic. It lived up to my expectations.
I highly recommend it and would go again.
We loved the table, food was fantastic but waiter was way off timing. Just seemed inexperienced with dining cadence. He offered us dessert only a few minutes after curt into our steak and never asked us for a refill on cocktails or wine.
Downtown Perry's location is great and the overall dining experience was fantastic. We did the pre-fixe meal for NYE and the services was highly pleasant and the meal was delicious. Recommend the filet as it comes with crab meat on top...yum!
It was a set menu with the kitchen controlling the customer experience. The table next to us I heard the gentleman say this isn’t what I ordered and the response from the waiter was sorry we are only able to send things back if it was the kitchens fault but since the waiter put in the order wrong there was nothing the waiter could do, totally insane to me! We paid $500 for 3 people and were served instant potatoes and sat in a back room out of the normal atmosphere of the restaurant. We were rushed through our dinner. I will say our server was amazing but unfortunately won’t be returning to many other options to enjoy and experience.
The restaurant was too loud for me. The food was tasty, and my steak was cooked well but the sides were not as hot as they could have been when served.
Great restaurant and amazing food. The host was just confused as to where to seat us and we were just standing in the middle of the restaurant waiting near other people’s tables for him to find us a table... we had a reservation but everything else was amazing.
This was our first time dining at Perry’s and it won’t be our last. We celebrated our 2 year anniversary. I had the 10oz filet which was excellent. The steak melted in my mouth. My wife had the pork chops which we could’ve shared, it’s a lot of meat. We also had the Mac and cheese which was the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had. We were very impressed with the service and the restaurant itself.
On a new year day with my boyfriend
This was a special occasion to introduce my family to Perry’s. This was their first time going. We’ve always enjoyed the many times we’ve been before but this time we were very disappointed with the wait staff. Our server never came to refill drinks or see if all was fine with our meal. We asked for to go boxes for our left over meals and had to box them ourselves. Which was never the case in the past.
The Friday lunch pork chop is always a treat. Great food and great service!
Absolutely amazing. On Friday only they do their famous pork chop for lunch for $16. World class food, $45 at dinner bit one day a week it’s $16. Must have a reservation. It will be some of the most amazing food you have ever had. Smoked over pecan. Ask your server how the chef recommends it to be carved, use the homemade apple sauce to dip it in l, and prepare for a food event like few others provide.
Excellent experience will definitely return for lunch or dinner.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! We wanted to treat my new son in law and my Dad to a special Austin Christmas dinner. My daughter and her new husband were visiting from out of town as well as my dad, which will be his last trip to Texas due to bad health, so we wanted to make this a VERY special event.
We made reservations a week earlier, we valet parked, and then they seated us in a far back corner across from the Bathrooms! The place was half empty and they stuck us by the bathrooms. The wait staff took forever, especially with an overall small crowd. we drink beer and mixed drinks. the mixed drinks were small glasses, packed with ice and VERY little alcohol... but they still charged $11 each! I had to order doubles, which cost $22 each, to get a "normal" mixed drink.
The food took a while to get to the table. ALL the seafood products (shrimp, lobster, etc.) were overcooked and rubbery - for both appetizers and meals. The steaks were good BUT i ordered mine Medium, which is slightly pink, and it came out Well-Done so i refused it for $42. They told me that another table ordered the same item and they would get me theirs so that i was not just sitting without food. The waitperson AND manager came back about 5 minutes later with a small plate so that i could eat the sides before they got cold - TOTAL BS.
20 minutes later, my steak came out. Everyone else at my table was finished and all the leftover sides were cold. The 20 minutes screamed that the manager lied about getting me the other tables steak order just to pacify me.
Perry's was still charging me for everything - no discounts or anything, as if everything was perfect. I had to ASK to speak to the manager who i described the entire ordeal and told him there was no way i was going to pay for all of this especially when over half the side items were cold and wasted. He told me he would work on the bill to help out. He then presented the bill with only my steak and 2 sides written off.
WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK!!
