Perry's Steakhouse & Grille - Baybrook Ratings and Reviews
Perry's on Bay Area used to be very perfect for special occasions and business lunches, with hushed tones of luxury befitting the cost of the fare. But the new flagship at revamped BayBrook is not the same restaurant. There are nice interior touches, but it's a completely different feel - boisterous and energetic, where you've got to speak loudly to be heard by others at your table. Waitstaff are pleasant and still pay attention to your needs, but the food didn't seem as special as it did in their old location. No one in our party had memorable food, but we had largely seafood dishes - perhaps this would be better were you to try their signature meat dishes such as pork chops.
So if your party is going for a steak or pork chops and is energetic, I'd say you have a good chance of enjoying your experience. However, if you are trying to celebrate an intimate anniversary, as we were, I'd look elsewhere.
Perry's had great food, but for the 6oz steak i felt it was VERY over priced. Also the steak came with no sides. Which was not at all what i expected, so $50 for just 6oz of steak and another $15 for one side that only myself would eat and then my husband had to order a different family sized side, because they only serve family sized sides apperently. It just was not something i would recommend unless you go with a group and deside to split all the food and a $1000 bill.
I very much appreciate Perry's honoring veterans with a free meal! The food and ambiance were outstanding as you would expect from Perry's. The thing that distracted from an otherwise great evening was the lack of knowledge by the waitstaff. Our server was obviously not aware of the Veterans special. She had to ask the manager what the requirements were for the complimentary meal. We were not served bread with the meal, even after asking for it and being told it was on the way. When we received the bill, we were charged for a salad that was included with the meal. And, we only received one dessert although we should have each gotten one with our meals. Again, a great gesture to recognize Veterans but please ensure the waitstaff is aware of what is included in the meal and they don't distract from an otherwise nice evening!
The food was good as usual, but we had a blah waiter. He acted like he didn't want to be there. He never removed our plates, never offered crushed pepper, never brushed our crumbs or cleaned our table. He was polite enough, but a total bust as far as it being a special evening at a special restaurant. Definitely not up to par or expectations for Perry's!
We booked a reservation for 6 via Open table & were seated in the bar distracted by television. Immediately when they brought us to the table we objected. We were told there was no other seating available. It was not the environment we were hoping for to celebrate two birthdays 😞
I took my husband out to celebrate Veteran's Day and he was warmly greeted and thanked for his service. The staff did a great job of making him feel welcome and appreciated. He ordered the ribeye and it just melted in his mouth. I didn't want something quite as heavy so I ordered the Field Green, Pear & Candied Pecan Salad with a grilled chicken breast; it really hit the spot.. It was absolutely delicious paired with a glass of Moscato! We'll definitely be returning to this location again!!
It was our first anniversary dinner. The waiter was awesome however one of his helpers dropped the tray of food on the way to our table. My wife’s order hit the floor. It took the wait staff three times to get all of her order to our table. There was one plate. The ambience was great and our waiter was good. Our visit could have been better.
We ordered carpaccio as a starter. It was good, but I would have preferred dark vinegar instead of white on the meat. The portion was at least for two. Then we choosed steak. The meat was really good. The gratin and the spinach were good but not outstanding. Too much cream on the spinach. The dessert should have been warm, was nearly cold. The service was not to bad, but when we order the red vine to get it with the entree, it should be there then. For the cocktail we had to ask, because it was forgotten. The waiter was not very attentive, brought the check before we were finished etc.
Not sure the point of making a reservation when you still have to wait 30 minutes for a table. Can't say that I was overly impressed for all the hype and we practically had to yell at each other in order to hold a conversation. The old location was much more enjoyable in my opinion. The bartenders had no personality and the waiter was staffed with a 10-top as well as the rest of her section which really took away from my dining experience.
The food and service were both excellent. The noise level was a little high and the tables were crowded together. We had to weave in and out of tables to get to our table . There were more people there when we left and had to pick our way around chairs to get to the walkway out.
Our server Matt made our date night extra special. He took very good care of us that made my boyfriends birthday so meaningful. Although I had a horrible toothache he suggested things on the menu that I could eat and gave amazing recommendations to help with my dinner choice. My boyfriend and I couldn’t have been happier for what Perry’s did for us that night. We will defiantly be back again and celebrate many more occasions with you guys. Thank you so much
I've been dining at Perry's since they were on Bay Area Blvd in Clear Lake. I've visited the new location at Baybrook Mall several times since they moved. Ambiance and dining room are fantastic, but for me the food was better at the old location. Prices have risen steeply and the quality is a bit hit or miss. Always a good meal, but for the money you'd expect more.
This was our first time at this Perry's Steak house at Baybrook mall. We had Al for our server and he was excellent and very kind. The wedge salad and pear salad were so tasty and most enjoyable. The pork chop was how I remembered absolutely splendid and even bigger than I recall. It was delicious. Al had what we couldn't eat packed up nicely for us to take home with additional applesauce that was much appreciated. He also helped us celebrate our 40 years of marriage with special desserts prepared table side that were scrumptious. We will definitely return.
Overall, it was a great experience. I haven't been in years. 2 things that I wish had happened, but didn't.
They did not do the presentation cut even when I asked, they said no. It was my coworkers first time there, so I was hoping she could see it. I know I want very impressed and learned that there are 3 parts of a pork chop.
The other thing is that I put on my reservation that this was a celebration as my coworker was going out on maternity leave, having her first baby. Nothing was said about it or anything. Why ask if your not going to DO something.
So while the food and service was impeccable I still rate it a 5, they have lost the Wow factor.
A wonderful dining experience during the celebration of my mother's birthday. The entire staff was very attentive to her birthday, making the event even more pleasant. The food as always, was top notch. This is always my go to restaurant for special occasions.
The food, service and ambience were all very good. However, the dinner portion signature Pork Chop was the exact same size as the “lunch cut” portion. I remember the dinner portion being much larger than the lunch portion but this time it definitely was not. The lunch portion costs around $14.95 and last night the same size portion was $39.95..... Why such a big price difference for the same product.
Atmosphere was great, food was wonderful, service was first-rate, valet service was convenient and valets were helpful. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and they were acknowledged quickly and sincerely by our server. My only complaint is that the food was very expensive, so I am not so certain about the overall value.
