Perla's Seafood and Oyster Bar
Perla's has Austin’s prettiest oak-shaded patio and a comfortable airy dining room featuring a huge saltwater fishtank, poured concrete oyster bar and open kitchen.

Fish quality and variety is completely lacking compared to what it used to be.
The lobster bucatini was perfection!! Celebrated my husband’s birthday at Perla’s & it was the ideal setting! Could not recommend enough!!
Consistently excellent quality and service. Our favorite restaurant for over 12 years. Perla’s never disappoints!!!
loved sitting outside with friends on the patio and enjoying happy hour drinks and food!
Oysters are fabulous
Food was fantastic. Wood grilled oysters were our favorite, but the shrimp and grits were very good as well. Outdoor seating was nice. It's on a major street, but you didn't feel like it.
If you can get a patio table, do it. 2020 is not the greatest restaurant year, but a day with a beer and some seafood sitting outside at Perla's is still a great joy!
The oysters from Massachusetts were a little better than the oysters from PEI on this trip to Perla's.
Once again a great lunch venue. My in favorite Austin!
Prompt seating by a courteous staff, then a friendly and very attentive server...then, delicious food made with high quality ingredients
We’ll definitely return!
Best seafood in town!!!!
Everything was great! Service, atmosphere, and of ourselves, the food.
Our waitress was very friendly and polite. We went on Saturday for late brunch/lunch. The food was ok. The patio area is nice.
Perla’s was an absolute hit. From the oysters to the pecan bread pudding, it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had! Don’t miss the red fish & bucatini. Delicious!
Will be back again!
The primary issue that was found is that reservations did not permit or guarantee for outdoor seating.
One would think that in the state of the world that reservations would be better organized for outdoor and or patio seating rather than allowing walkups to simply be with what looked like, rewarding to be allowed to sit outside.
I took my husband to Perla's for his birthday. Our experience was nothing less than fabulous. I defiantly would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
Great food! Great location!
I think the only improvement I would really like is if the patio could accept reservations. Every time I am told it will take 30-45 min and ends up taking an hour to be seated outside even though I made reservations a week in advance. Other than that there is excellent food and I love the atmosphere.
Love it. Lobe the chowder and drinks
Great oysters! Amazing grilled octopus. Outdoor patio is great for seating
Love the food and ambiance. Don’t bother making a reservation as they are only for in door dining. Outside seating is first come first serve.
Service was great, lobster roll was delicious. Patio area was spread out nicely
Phenomenal lunch in beautiful setting. Located on quirky South Congress Street.
Prices for lunch at Perla’s have gotten incredibly high for the caliber of food. Ambience was great, but poor value for the money. My husband and I will probably skip in the future.
Fantastic evening at Perlas. Of course the oysters were great, but the shells and cheese cannot be ignored as the go to appetizer. We also got the lobster roll and ceviche which were fantastic as well.
Everything was great. The server was knowledgeable, kind, and very personable. The food was on point, and i will be coming back!
Was as expected
Met up out an out of town colleague; great attention and food.
For the price I expect more. More professional servers. Better dressed hostesses. Cleaner bathrooms. A full 5 star experience if your paying 5 star for the food. It’s too casual and too expensive and the food on all three occasions has been a solid 6-7/10. The waitress was so casual and treated us like we were at a Chili’s. Chick-fil-A is more pleasant and professional in their service. It was our anniversary, it was special, we waited until 9pm for a reservation and were disappointed. The 55$ lobster was overcooked. How do you do that? It’s not that hard, set a timer. The food in general all three times is over salted. The cold bar was the best part, but how can you mess up condiments and opening oysters?
When I want seafood and a special ambiance to celebrate, Perla’s is where I think of going. Lovely cocktails, delicious oysters albeit a little high priced by delicious, and so many dishes and side dishes, making it so difficult to choose what to have. Ask your server for recommendations - they don’t steer you wrong when you’re indecisive. Please note you cannot request outside seating and I was not aware. That’s apparently first come first serve only. Expect to wait 30-45 mins, check in, and go down the street for margaritas at Gueros until your table is ready.
We had a great time. The food was incredible and the service was great. Highly recommend
Made a reservation requesting outside for a birthday celebration, only to arrive and be told that reservations are only available for indoors, but walk-ups can sit outside and there was a 45min extra wait. That seems backwards! Food was good but pricey.
Amazing as always
Great experience, outside dining, fantastic food. Needed a change of pace and Perla's was it.
Our two hour late lunch at Perla's was excellent. From our starter Negronis, to Iceberg Wedge salads with Lump Jumbo Crab meat, to Crispy Texas Gulf Snapper main courses (the accompanying sofrito was fresh and spicy), to my Salted Butterscotch Pot de Crème dessert, everything was fresh and delicious. The accompanying bottle of 2018 Sancerre paired with our food very well, too. Finally, Natalie, our server, did an excellent job of pacing the various courses so that we never felt hurried during the whole experience. If you want an outstanding, fresh seafood meal, Perla's should be at the top of your list.
We made a detour on our way to San Antonio. Perla’s was the perfect stop. The food was absolutely delicious. The perfect light lunch to start our vacation.
We came for their bouillabaisse as it's the best my husband ever had. It was not on the menu.
We ordered redfish and sea bass meals and they were nothing special. For the price, all should be exceptional!
The outside was busy and our server was slower than expected though very friendly.
The restaurant was quieter, as there were less guests inside, but normally is too loud.
The empty fish tank should have fish or be taken out. It is a topic for discussion. I guess.?.
Sorry. We won't be back unless, maybe, bouillabaisse is on your menu.
