Perla's Seafood and Oyster Bar
Perla's has Austin’s prettiest oak-shaded patio and a comfortable airy dining room featuring a huge saltwater fishtank, poured concrete oyster bar and open kitchen.
English Muffin, Poached Eggs, Lump Crab, Griddled Tomato, Lemon Spinach, Hollandaise
Fish & Shrimp Ceviche
with Avocado & Fresh Fried Tostaditos
Ahi Tuna Tartar
with a Quail Egg, Baguette Crostini
Prices for lunch at Perla’s have gotten incredibly high for the caliber of food. Ambience was great, but poor value for the money. My husband and I will probably skip in the future.
Fantastic evening at Perlas. Of course the oysters were great, but the shells and cheese cannot be ignored as the go to appetizer. We also got the lobster roll and ceviche which were fantastic as well.
Everything was great. The server was knowledgeable, kind, and very personable. The food was on point, and i will be coming back!
Was as expected
Met up out an out of town colleague; great attention and food.
For the price I expect more. More professional servers. Better dressed hostesses. Cleaner bathrooms. A full 5 star experience if your paying 5 star for the food. It’s too casual and too expensive and the food on all three occasions has been a solid 6-7/10. The waitress was so casual and treated us like we were at a Chili’s. Chick-fil-A is more pleasant and professional in their service. It was our anniversary, it was special, we waited until 9pm for a reservation and were disappointed. The 55$ lobster was overcooked. How do you do that? It’s not that hard, set a timer. The food in general all three times is over salted. The cold bar was the best part, but how can you mess up condiments and opening oysters?
When I want seafood and a special ambiance to celebrate, Perla’s is where I think of going. Lovely cocktails, delicious oysters albeit a little high priced by delicious, and so many dishes and side dishes, making it so difficult to choose what to have. Ask your server for recommendations - they don’t steer you wrong when you’re indecisive. Please note you cannot request outside seating and I was not aware. That’s apparently first come first serve only. Expect to wait 30-45 mins, check in, and go down the street for margaritas at Gueros until your table is ready.
We had a great time. The food was incredible and the service was great. Highly recommend
Made a reservation requesting outside for a birthday celebration, only to arrive and be told that reservations are only available for indoors, but walk-ups can sit outside and there was a 45min extra wait. That seems backwards! Food was good but pricey.
Amazing as always
Great experience, outside dining, fantastic food. Needed a change of pace and Perla's was it.
Our two hour late lunch at Perla's was excellent. From our starter Negronis, to Iceberg Wedge salads with Lump Jumbo Crab meat, to Crispy Texas Gulf Snapper main courses (the accompanying sofrito was fresh and spicy), to my Salted Butterscotch Pot de Crème dessert, everything was fresh and delicious. The accompanying bottle of 2018 Sancerre paired with our food very well, too. Finally, Natalie, our server, did an excellent job of pacing the various courses so that we never felt hurried during the whole experience. If you want an outstanding, fresh seafood meal, Perla's should be at the top of your list.
We made a detour on our way to San Antonio. Perla’s was the perfect stop. The food was absolutely delicious. The perfect light lunch to start our vacation.
We came for their bouillabaisse as it's the best my husband ever had. It was not on the menu.
We ordered redfish and sea bass meals and they were nothing special. For the price, all should be exceptional!
The outside was busy and our server was slower than expected though very friendly.
The restaurant was quieter, as there were less guests inside, but normally is too loud.
The empty fish tank should have fish or be taken out. It is a topic for discussion. I guess.?.
Sorry. We won't be back unless, maybe, bouillabaisse is on your menu.
The food was superb but the service was off. We had to flagged down another server to take our drink order after waiting for 15mins or so. In which that server started to help us forward & was great.
Our first time here. We will be back!
A very enjoyable evening on their patio. Service and food excellent. Safety precautions by staff adhered to. Waitress knowledgeable on the fish and wine and made great suggestions. Expensive and worth the cost.
Always love going to Perla’s!
Our waiter was on her A-game the night we dined in (Saturday night). The restaurant was very good with their social distancing protocols. Every course (Oysters to Grouper Collar, to Snapper) served was perfect all the way to the butterscotch dessert. This is a SoCo staple that never disappoints.
Perfect👌Best seafood restaurant in Austin.
Delicious scallops and Texas redfish! Great service.
Our server was wonderful. The food never fails here!
We arrived an hour early, and they still took the time to get us seated right away. Natalie was our waitress, and she was absolutely fantastic. She seemed happy to take care of us no matter what.
Everything there is incredibly fresh. The service is also outstanding. Both times I’ve been they’ve been extremely friendly and attentive.
Great Seafood and Oysters. Wonderful for a date night. Service was a little slow at first, it was really busy, but after that everything flowed really nice and we got everything right as we should have. (I always hate it when you don't get to finish your appetizer/Salad before the main course comes and floods the table)
My favorite patio on South Congress.
Day after Wedding
The brunch was good but dinner here is great so it was a little bit of a let down. The shrimp and grits I have just tasted too much of Tabasco but my husbands lobster roll was very good and the baked oysters we had neither of us cared much for. Dessert was great. Again if you are choosing between going here for brunch or dinner, choose dinner it never lets you down.
Food was great as always, service was good, but she wasn’t super informative about the cocktail menu. I really wish they would take reservations for the outside area. I don’t understand why they do a waiting list that is up
To 3 hours when there is nowhere to wait therefore causing people to congregate is crowded areas. Infuse area is loud but fun.
Fantastic bartender and fresh oyster shucking at its finest
Perlas is always good, need a pasta dish on menu,
and maybe a fried a fish
Very impressed by the decor and design. Will be back again soon!
All of our food was prepared to perfection! Amazing service, makes for a really enjoyable experience.
Once again we had a great time. We love the outside dining ambience. We’ll be back soon!👍👍👍
Patio was great in the beautiful weather. Good level of patrons given our current social situation. Service was spot on.
The music was bad disco playlist and too loud on the screened porch. Please, this is the city of fantastic music. Can't you find a little bluesy jazz or even classical piano? Or oldies like Buddy Holley or Elvis if you want fun.
The server was fantastic. The fish was a bit overcooked but usually perfect.
I don't understand why one cannot reserve a table outside with a credit card when the guest is a leukemia patient in remission but we went an hour early and shopped next door. We did notice the hostess had reserved an outside table we requested after we got there for someone on their way over she said. We were there. Seems we should have had priority under the circumstances.
I love Larry's restaurants so only offer this as a suggestion to remedy.
As always, it was wonderful. How can you go wrong with the Poco and champagne. Beautiful night on a beautiful patio. Service and food was fabulous. A must, when in Austin.
Lunch at Perla’s was one of the best meals I’ve had in some time. I came up to Austin to visit a friend and wanted to celebrate with a great lunch. All the seafood is prepared very fresh and it was the perfect day to dine al Fresco as Thus was the first cool day of the season. Our server Molly was well I formed and accommodating. We Reyes several appetizers and small plates and we split an entree by that point. Great meal and experience. Will return soon.
Food was great! As I expected !
