Birthday. Our server save the day. Front desk attitude was terrible. I will not go back to visit for a very long time.
One of best seafood restaurants in Austin. The signature red snapper is highly recommended, as is the halibut. The food is always fresh and flavorful. The night's chocolate dessert with a kick of chili and lime capped the meal off perfectly.
Great fresh oysters & cocktails. Very helpful & cordial staff
Pretty good! The wait staff was great, food was great. It just would’ve been nice if I made reservations one month ago to be given the option for outside seating. Just know if your looking for this better to just show up early and put your name on the list.
When making a reservation, there’s no indication that the patio could not be reserved, which really doesn’t make sense - the value of eating at Perla’s is the patio ambience, and there’s no reason to reserve an indoor table, because all of the indoor tables are empty.
We were informed upon arrival that the patio couldn’t be reserved. Then, our server had to be asked to leave work, after appearing to be under the influence.
Perla’s prices are acceptable with the great outdoor ambience, but not so much when you’re one of 2 tables sat indoors.
Outstanding meal and service. We were celebrating our friends 50th and it
Always the best oysters & seafood in Austin! Amazing!!!!
We always enjoy Perla's fresh seafood and attentive service. It is one of our favorite seafood restaurants in Austin. We will be back.
Great weekday lunch while on vacation!
Excellent service, high quality and unique craft cocktails with really good food.
I've been to Perla's before and previously had good experiences so I wanted to take my mom for her birthday. I made a reservation thinking that was best given the times but it guaranteed us nothing but a bad table in a small corner next to the register stand. The service was so-so, our waitress was very kind but didn't come around much and glasses certainly went unfilled. It seemed like walk-ins had better seating and service. The food was great but for a $200+ meal it was a lackluster experience.
Excellent Service. Excellent Food.
Had the broiled oysters, grilled octopus, cerviche and lobster roll.
All was done to perfection
Perla's is a staple for us. Friday night was such an awful experience, it will be a long time before we return. We had reservations, requested the outside. The hostess said they would not seat us outside, BTW, tons of outdoor tables open. Our waitress was annoyed from the second we sat down, had such a difficult personality it truly ruined our evening. Terrible terrible service. Have way too many choices to return to a restaurant that did not want us there. So bummed.
Very good sea food and choice of fish.
Highly recommend the ceviche!
Heard Perlas was the place to go in Austin, and it did not disappoint! Every single thing we ate was delicious! Oyster appetizer, rockfish, scallops with pea purée was my favorite meal of our entire trip. Would highly highly recommend, and will return on our next trip to Austin!
Usually we are very happy with Perlas but this time we tried some new dishes and were disappointed. I chose the rockfish in broth with clams. Extremely small clams and the broth was so spicy (fresno chiles I think) that I was unable to taste the seafood broth. The fish was awesome with a crispy coating. I was wanting their incredible bouilabaisse but it was off the menu for the season. My partner had the lobster in the shell in pasta. The problem was the pasta was in a somewhat greasy sauce of bacon lardons which made removing the lobster from the shell a slippery mess and the sauce again overpowered the lobster taste. My baby romaine salad was so good as always (my favorite salad in town) but his iceberg wedge had too much thousand island dressing so that the crab was drowned out. We were seated by the door with constant traffic, not so great. (with reservations) The wine was perfect, love their wine list.
We normally love Perlas but the overall experience just wasn’t great this time. Part of order never made it to the table (charge was removed). Some things just seemed under done. Hopefully this was a one off as it’s one of our favorite places.
Excellent oysters, fried okra, hush puppies, great bottle of Chardonnay. We have been loyal to Perla’s since they opened. Never disappointed.
Had a great time with great food! Keep it up and we will return!
I love coming here and the vibe feels very beachy!
Amazing! always delicious seafood!!! Literally the BEST in town!
Everything was wonderful. The Ahi tuna was great. The only downside were the chairs inside. They were very uncomfortable.
absolutely loved our food. everything we tried was excellent and can’t wait to come again! patio looked amazing
The food was quite good and plenty. The calamari appetizer was a meal and excellent. Service was quite good. The server ws very helpful and timely with out being obtrusive.
The problem I had was the reservation system. The restaurant and open table does not apparently communicate. The Perla dinner hour does not start until 5:30. Open table had 2 choices for res at 4:30 or 5:00 with all else blocked out after 5:00 for no apparent reason since the inside dinning room was basically empty from 4:30 until after 6 and showed no sign of increasing. This was a Tuesday evening. I called the restaurant to ask a question earlier: that is no longer possible. Open table gives no information other than available times, which in this case were totally wrong. I personally do not like open table but there are few options.
That being said: Perla's was quite enjoyable and the food was good. They did not have halibut which is on their website menu and was specifically asked for. The scallop special had way too many beans and too few scallops, don't bother.
My favorite oyster bar in Austin!!
We had made reservations weeks in advance and when we came, the hostess wanted to seat us inside. We asked that we sit outside (COVID, beautiful day, etc) and she informed us that even with reservations, we would have to wait to sit outside. We ended up waiting an hour before a table opened up. That was pretty frustrating. For the price of everything, the food was average at best. Our waiter, Andrew, was great. Will not be returning.
Wonderful meal! Go there. You will not regret it.
Always my go to lunch venue in Austin 👍👍👍👍
Food is always good. The only thing is I kept ordering more Diet Coke and then got charged for every one and only when I got the Bill he said oh we don’t have a soda machine so refills aren’t free. You should tell people that.
Any easy way to drop a couple of hundred dollars that left me feeling just OK
Siren’s Song cocktail and Spicy Oyster Shooters were absolutely fantastic. Must orders!
Food was good, not great. Prawns were great, but Sea Bass was hard as a rock with the overcooked potato crust. Fried okra was good. The chocolate crunch bar was awful. Flavor was weird and plate was so messy. Service was subpar at best. He didn’t really know anything about the menu when we asked questions, gave no direction and didn’t say thank you at the end. Will go back for the raw seafood, but not the service.
Extremely slow and very inattentive service, have dined here many times over the years and this was the worst experience we have had. Went for anniversary dinner and nothing was comped or provided in celebration of the occasion as we have previously had.
Amazing see food, love their oyster varieties and drinks
GET THE GRANDE PLATER!! Amazing food great vibes and fun place to be!
There to celebrate our 30 Anniversary at lunch.
Not an experience I would recommend especially for the money
