   When we arrived at this restaurant, which I had visited several times before, there was an empty parking lot, an overgrown front yard, and a sign in the front door window that they had moved, but with no information as to where they had moved. I called the restaurant repeatedly, and got a recording that made no mention of any move. Beware, they are no longer at the Chillicothe Road address. But there doesn’t seem to be any way of finding out where they are now. Highly recommend it, but only if you can find them.

   On Mother’s Day we were told immediately that the chef didn’t show up and that the manager was cooking so it would be a little long for our food. Boy they weren’t kidding!!! An hour and a half for tea and two scones!!! We couldn’t wait any longer and had to leave. I was still hungry!!! Wanted it to be special. I should’ve heeded the reviews on Yelp. Never again will I be going here!!!!

   Were not ready for guests. They arrived the same time we did. It had snowed and nothing was cleaned off. We slopped through the slush then went back to our car. They should have been there much earlier to prepare.

   I had booked a reservation for 3, and that Saturday there were 2 large parties and it was quite noisy. They had a large tea selection,, the ones we picked were tasty, The food was good. They ran out of most of the desserts. We had the macaroons and rum cake, which were also good. I felt bad for our waitress, she was the only one for the amount of people in the two rooms. She was very apologetic.

   I was so excited for this place but it was a disappointment. The food was meh, it seems like they may use a-lot of pre-packaged items. I would be surprised if much is made in house. The place was cute and had potential. Bathroom was strange and you have to pull two doors to use it; was uncomfortable so I did not use it. Server was nice but smelled of cigarette smoke and her Harley Davidson shirt did not jive with a tea house theme. My tea would have been good it it was brewed properly (tea was not fully submerged). Also could not engage full pot because it got so cold. Overall disappointing and we will not be returning.

   Tea was amazing, very knowledgeable of the different types of teas. The Raspberry Herbal was very fruity and had no caffeine, which is great for in the evening. The Soup of the Day (Cream of Onion) was lukewarm, could have been a lot hotter. Didn't have the pasta I was looking forward to having. Mom couldn't find any cheese in her Steak and Cheese Patsy. Still left very hungry

   This is a charming place to relax and enjoy afternoon tea. I would recommend the delicious white wedding tea. The food was savory and yummy. The service was very friendly and efficient. My daughter andI will be going back again soon.

   We really enjoyed dining at The Perky Kettle. This is an adorable, eclectic tea room offering tea towers and lunch/breakfast plates. There was a great selection of unique menu options and teas. The ambience was great-- very unique artwork and furniture. The servers were knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. I would highly recommend having a brunch or lunch in this great place!

    Nice tea house with two different rooms to choose from. Service and knowledge of tea was excellent. Nice variety of food to choose from. Food was excellent. The short bread biscuits were very buttery!

    Had the Apple caramel waffles came out cold, but they were still doable and delicious with the raspberry Mamosa. That was just OK. Husband had the bacon cheese Swiss quiche that was very good and a coffee which cost four dollars. We will probably go back eventually if we want something different.

    Very cute little place, fully decorated. Parking lot is a little rough, and they are short staffed at the moment. The person there was very friendly even though she was alone! Extensive drink menu, and the food we got was all tasty. Great place for a lunch or special occasion

    The quantity of food for the price was terrible. I had ordered chicken, which was extra for the pasta dish. The dish came out with no chicken. The waitress returned it to the kitchen. Four scrappy pieces of chicken was added to the dish.

    Such a nice little tea room. Very tasty food, cute ambience. Server was great, she was on her own though, so when I get a little busier, she did a really good job keeping everyone happy.

    Great drinks n coffee. Amazing desserts. Great decor. Food presentation n taste was horrible. Sorry, but the food was not good at all. Very overpriced for what we received. Terrible service. Had to ask someone other than our waitress for water. My daughter had to go to the kitchen to find someone for service. Never saw the waitress after our food was served until my daughter brought the waitress back. IF we were to ever return, it would only be for a beverage n dessert. We would eat elsewhere. We have been waiting years to come. My daughter lived in the UK n I could hardly wait to take her…it was just a huge disappointment. We are all from Chesterland, raised n grew up there. Your public restroom needs to be cleaned n decorated. Overall we were not impressed with anything except your beverages n u have one amazing bakery chef.

    Food and tea were very good. Service was very good: friendly, pretty efficient. Decor was fun: I liked the different vibes of the two rooms. Bathroom could use some updating, cleaning, and more privacy (has door to work area). We would go back.

    The food was not good. A child’s hot cocoa would be better served in a tea pot to pour smaller amounts into a tea cup. Cocoa was served in a large styrofoam cup and was served 30 minutes after arriving and 15 min. after our tea. The chicken salad with curry was dry. The bread was cheap white bread. However the worst part was that I ordered a Shephards pie dinner to go. Waited a long time to get it even though I ordered when we ordered our lunch. When asked about it I was told it was being made. More waiting. Then the gentlemen, maybe owner, brought me out a small round pan of it and it was cold, like taken from a freezer. He told me to heat it for 20-30 minutes. Really! It was $17.50 for a frozen entree from Sysco or GFS. Not homemade, no salad or scone to go with it. I love taking my granddaughter who just turned 4 to teas and it was sad for her to say she like the other one better. We will not be back. Sad the Tea Room in Mentor closed but looking forward to the Holiday Tea at the Ritz. Regardless of price food, presentation, delivery should be good.
    

    Perky KettleResponded on November 15, 2022Our Shephards pie is made in house. However our to-go shepherds pie is put into a tin so it can be baked at home, it was refrigerated not frozen. We did bring you a hot cocoa in a cup with a lid for your four year old granddaughter as most of our customers prefer the lid option for a child. You decided to pour it into a tea cup which of course you can do but we don't serve hot cocoa in a tea pot but in a glass Irish coffee mug or as in your case with children in a cup with a lid.

    Waited over an hour for our party to receive water. Multiple attempted incorrect drinks and food orders. There were only three other tables and we waited over 1.5 hours to receive any food.

    It was such a lovely experience. Great food, service and ambiance. I enjoyed the shepherds pie, Scottish tea, shortbread cookies and took a cranberry orange scone home for later. Everything was delicious!!

    Very proper British afternoon tea and a very proper British menu otherwise. Also really liked that the decor is not overly frilly like most American tea shops. Gentlemen can feel at ease with their scones and cream here.

    The greeting upon entering was very cold. She was having a bad day. The server was very sweet but knew nothing her first day. Waited forever for food. It came my friends quiche came it was ok but dry. My Welsh rarrebit was a cross between sour gravey and left over tomato soup it was something we never saw in our lives. Awful.     Fresh baked scones with delicious jam/preserve choices. If you like curry chicken salad give that a try with their lemon vinaigrette, yum! Definitely recommend for an afternoon tea and if you feel enjoy a mimosa, the raspberry Bellini was delicious!
