We came for Oktoberfest weekend where the regular menu wasn’t available so I can’t review the regular menu. We sat out on the patio which was quiet even though it is relatively close to the road. We had brats, beer macaroni and cheese, homemade pretzels, sauerkraut and their homemade cream puffs for dessert. All of the food was very good. We especially enjoyed the pretzels and cream puffs! We walked through the indoor area which is small so a reservation is a good idea. The owner was there and was very pleasant and friendly. We enjoyed our visit and will go back to experience their British menu.
Charming decor, delectable food, attentive service. Impressive cocktail and tea menu. Highly recommend the house made quiche and the rosemary shortbread for dessert. We went for girls night but coming next time for date night. Don’t miss this place!
My girlfriends and I went to the Perky Kettle this past Saturday. I was thoroughly impressed with the large selection of Tea! All of the food was made fresh and tasted delicious, and the staff was quite professional and polite. I very much enjoyed the "Alice and Wonderland" decor throughout the building. I highly recommend for a fun afternoon out!
Scones had to be sent back because they were raw inside.
Pasty was not cooked in what I would consider a pasty crust. I say this as an Englishman.
Coffee took 30 minutes from order to table.
Staff was pleasant.
We appreciate your taking the time to post this review and we are looking into what occurred here. There is no reason your coffee should have taken 30 minutes and we pride ourselves on our scones and authentic pasty. In fact we have had numerous British customers rave about the pasty and we use a recipe for the dough from Cornwall. We are looking into what occurred and would appreciate you contacting us with more information. Thank you.
Our dinners were tasty and delicious. There was one server for both in/out dining and she wasn't able to keep up with demand. We thoroughly enjoyed Bill the musician as we were the only people on the patio during his first hour of play. The drinking water was awful--gag.
Love this tea house! So relaxing and the food is delicious.
We had never been there before. Before COVID-19 it was very hard to get a reservation they were so booked. We were there on a Tuesday evening we were the only ones inside the restaurant. Two people were sitting outside so we had private dining. Can’t honestly say much about our experience there because it probably wouldn’t be fair at this time. Our dinner was very good didn’t care too much for our little mousse dessert. My husband had to order his drink three different times because they were out of bourbon and some thing else finally he got I think a vodka drink. As I said it’s probably not fair to rate right now. We will go back again hopefully more people will Start going out to eat. I hope they don’t end up closing because I would like to go back again this time I have some tea and sandwiches
small, lovely outdoor seating area
remember to order the scone first- its cooked on the spot and takes 15 minutes but worth the wait
Great place to eat and relax. Food was quite good, especially the desserts! My daughter had a special drink and thoroughly enjoyed it! Our waitress was kind, helpful, funny, and always ahead of the game serving our needs. Lovely house, but we ate on the patio, which was a pleasant occurrence on a lovely day.
Charming small tea house with excellent service and a wide variety of teas, meals and drinks.
Lovely place! Great, friendly service. Great atmosphere.
Beautiful ambiance. Friendly staff. Excellent tea selection and extensive menu!
This was my first visit to the Perky Kettle. We were seated in a beautiful room at a lovely decorated table. I had the quiche and Scottish Breakfast tea. We also had the day's scone, Lavendar and Rosemary with lemon curd. The food was delicious and authentically British. Can't wait to go back and take some friends to taste some of the other creations.
This tearoom has excellent teas, scones, and shortbreads. The kitschy décor (an adventure society themed room and a through the looking glass themed room) is fun and relaxing. A nice place for an afternoon snack and a chat with friends.
Cute, food wasn’t anything special. Walked into a prefixed menu for Valentine’s day so maybe a better value on a different day. I would recommend going but a one and done for me.
This place is so fun. I have been there 4 times now and the food is great the atmosphere is quaint and it is just an over all charming unique place. Love it
I have been to the perky kettle twice now and both times found the service to be unfortunate. The food was very good the first time and the second time it was very dry. I got the afternoon tea and it was not worth the cost. I want so badly to love this place and I totally understand they are ironing out the initial kinks. I think they have great potential.
Quaint and delicious authentic English tea food!
It was our pleasure to have served you. Thank you for posting this lovely review.
I loved the tea of the day and that fact that it was brewed right at the table. The use of the timers to brew the tea is a great idea. Hot water was replenished when needed.
Good variety of items on the menu. Having an individual quiche rather than a slice was a nice surprise.
I will definitely go back again!
Fantastic place! Lovely decor, delicious food and tea, enjoyable staff.
My family enjoyed our delicious lunch in this very cozy and charming space. The tea selection is wonderful! The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable of all the teas qualities and flavors. She patiently answered our questions and helped us select something new to try, with great success. My only suggestion would be to add more wait staff or a hostess. The sweet waitress we had was expected to do it all on a very busy day.
It is absolutely adorable! I told my husband that it would fit right into Niagara-on-the-Lake. Food was delicious, the coffee amazing! So happy it's in Chesterland; though it's worth the drive if you don't live close by.
Thank you for posting this lovely review. We appreciate having the opportunity to serve you and look forward to seeing you again.
Step into an authentic British tea shop that takes it a little further with hearty lunch and dinner offerings. The fresh from the oven snickereoodle scone was a great start with the very best lemon curd and traditional clotted cream. Scones are baked to order with daily special flavors. A steak and cheese quiche filled me up, served piping hot with perfectly browned crust and moist, tender chunks of steak. Our tea choice was a seasonal offering of Harney and Sons, Lunar New Year. Loose leaf steeped, with a timer provided for your personal taste preference. Wait staff was welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. Finished off with the perfect blend of sweet and creamy in a chai or strawberry macaroon. This is a definite return visit so that we can taste more of the great British menu options.

What a wonderful addition to the culinary choices in Chesterland! I thought the value was high for the price (moderate). The sourdough accompaniment came without butter, but when I requested it, a generous
plate was supplied. Everything was fresh and tasty; the soup hearty. Additional pots of hot water can be had if you drink your pot of tea up. You can then re-brew your strainer of loose tea, of which there are 50 varieties. I will be back to sample others!
The Alice in Wonderland theme is utterly delightful.

First time visitor to the Perky Kettle, and extremely disappointed! There is no quality control. My tea was piping hot, my mother’s was tepid at best. My soup came out at about room temperature, sent it back and it came back out the same. My mom ordered quiche- it was a mini round individual quiche as opposed to a slice served from a larger quiche. This would have been fine had it been freshly and properly prepared. It was quite dark, almost black, around the entire edge and a lovely golden brown on top which gave it the appearance of having been just baked, but it was of rubbery texture and cool in the center, so I’m guessing mass produced and then an attempt was made to reheat it. My mom finally got some hot tea and my salad was quite good, but we sent back the soup twice and the quiche once and opted out of having it served back to us. All in all a very disappointing experience. We were one of only four tables at the time and nobody came in after us, so they were not busy at all. No excuse for such poor quality. We will not go back.
The food was very good and tea selection excellent with a variety of high quality teas. The staff is personable and attentive to our needs. Nice relaxing atmosphere. We will be going back for more!

My friend and I had a lovely afternoon here. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and the various teas. We also met the very friendly proprietor who came to our table and helped us decide on our selections. We will definitely return again.
Thank you for posting this five star review. It was a pleasure meeting you and we look forward to serving you in the future.
Too crowded with tiny cafe tables; little choices; over priced for what you get. Been to dozens of tea rooms and I never had to pay extra for Devonshire Cream for my scones. Will not recommend this place to any of my tea room girls and I will not return!
My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our food and the experience at the Perky Kettle. Alaina, our server, was so sweet She brought us out teas from the kitchen so we could smell them before ordering. We will definitely return.

Friendly atmosphere. Food was skimpy and not presented well, yet very tasty.
The best tea room I've ever been to. The food is excellent, with options you don't often see, such as Welsh rarebit and chicken tikka masala. The tea menu is extensive, and if you're unsure what any flavor is, the waitress will bring out a sample of the leaves to sniff. The service was impeccable, and the decor is charming and original. Most tea rooms are aggressively floral; however, at The Perky Kettle, the first room has an almost masculine feel, so men will feel comfortable, and the second room and tiny bar have an Alice in Wonderland theme . Can't wait to go back!
