I came here for Valentine’s Day dinner with my partner. We each ordered the “fixed price” menu, which came out to $200 total. I’m not bothered about the price since this was a special occasion. But the quality of the food was disappointing and seemed to decline with each successive course. Starter: Brie, fig and prosciutto crostini offered promising flavors but were too large and very filling. Salad: Gem salad with pistachios. Well dressed and tasty but very VERY ordinary. There was really nothing stand out about this salad other than how enormous it was, almost a whole box of mixed greens with vinaigrette, pomegranate seeds, and cheese. Entree: Steak and fried lobster tail. The choice to chicken fry the lobster bogged down an already heavy meal. All was served over too-salty cheese grits. The best part were the crispy sautéed Brussels sprouts. Dessert: What you’d expect to be the crowing jewel of a romantic meal was the biggest disappointment. Mine, the “cherry love note” was a befuddling and, frankly, gross cherry pastry served with cherry sauce and roasted pepitas. The pepitas just didn’t belong at all. But the worst part was that the pastry was both cold and old, the vegetable shortening flavor of it (and greasy bottom) was reminiscent of a gas station hand pie. My partner was served what we believe to be an assortment of pantry snacks — greasy, stale potato chips, stale churros, stale grocery store cookies, underripe strawberries, and stale, definitely not restaurant-baked banana bread — with ramekins of chocolate and dulce de leche sauce for dipping. The sauces were the only good part. I can recognize when a dessert is good and I just don’t like it due to personal taste. But these were legitimately bad. They would have been better off making a batch of creme brûlée’s or mousse cups. The only upside was the creativity and whimsy of the desserts. Otherwise, poor menu planning and execution. Not sure I’ll be returning to dine here. Proceed with caution.

We made a reservation here on Valentines Day which was busy as expected. The restaurant was understaffed and not well trained. We waited 15 minutes before getting glasses of water and the waiter came minutes later to take our order. We gave our drink and dinner order at one time, seeing as how the service was beyond slow. Our dinner came quickly but no drinks; we had to ask again for those. The food was good but not quite as described on the menu. The restaurant is fairly noisy and you would think a newer restaurant would have planned some sound absorption. I have never had such slow and inattentive service especially at a nicer restaurant. There are many other good restaurant choices to spend your hard earned money.

My first review roasted the service because it was astoundingly bad, but I scratched that because I don't want anyone fired. I do want to write this though, because I genuinely wouldn't want to send a friend here after the experience I had on Valentine's Day this year. Main points - servers are inexperienced and the value is terrible ($162 for a steak, terrible Ahi Tuna Mound, 4 drinks and a side + tip). Be better!

Brisket burger was fantastic. Honestly, best bun I’ve had on any burger, ever (which is a weird thing to praise, but you’ll get it when you have one)—patty itself was great, obviously. Spicy broccoli, meatballs, fries, and lamb lollipops also were all delicious. We both loved our drinks as well. We will definitely be returning.

Great lunch option for the downtown work crowd. You don’t feel like you’re eating in a hotel. The entree turkey/avo salad was really tasty and the reuben sandwich/fries were ginormous! Plug-ins and USB ports at the table were appreciated. Service was efficient and friendly. We were easily in and out in 45 minutes. Will definitely put this on lunch rotation.

They went above and beyond with making Betsy’s 92nd Birthday special with a desert and champagne
