Lively even at 7 PM on a rainy Saturday night. Wine list is simple but bottles are reasonably priced (had a $40 2015 Pinot which is $36 on the winery's web site). Quite a selection of house cocktails. Food was tasty (we had calamari with two glasses of prosecco, beet salad and seafood risotto, caesar and ribeye, with dessert for each of us). With tax and tip for two, $258, so not cheap for a full meal (although servings are plentiful: we had enough for two more meals to take home). Noise level is high because the space is open and acoustically live. A nice change of pace for us. Great if you want an energetic, urban vibe with great food.
Slight ding for service: I ordered the hangar steak, but somehow ended up with the ribeye. Probably due to the combination of noise and my hearing. Server did confirm orders with us, but hard to hear.
Kylie is a wonderful waitress. Amazing cocktails and appetizers. A very nice vibe for a younger crowd who like to socialize and have fun. Would highly recommend this to everyone!
Great staff, good food & nice view to the courtyard. We’ll be back!
We ate inside. Despite the fact that the food was quite delicious, and we enjoyed the ambiance, we realized during our meal that the bartender and cooks in the kitchen were not wearing masks or wearing them incorrectly. In addition, many of the servers were also wearing their masks below their nose. It was a real turn off. We probably won’t return.
We had a very fun time Friday night, window seat looking at old Courthouse Square festive upbeat environment.
Sorry this was a big disappointment. Uninteresting menu coupled with a heavy hand, left us feeling rather ripped off. Four salads and four drinks $100 without a tip. Ugh.
First time at this new downtown Santa Rosa restaurant. The standard "inside" seating is upstairs with a view of the plaza of Courtyard Square. There are seats along large, very high windows, with sections that open to about 10 to 12 feet across; good air flow too. This provides a very different view of the street scene and the view of the beautiful trees and some modern, some old buildings around the Square. The kitchen and the very extensive bar are upstairs. All of the food preparation and the elaborate bar that creates dramatic and creative cocktails are upstairs. On the street level there are two sections for outside dining, with lots of spacing between tables. There is an elevator and a long stairway to get to the upper floor. Food was delicious, but the menu is somewhat limited. Service and staff were efficient and gracious.
The restaurant was not open, others had 11.30/12pm reservations through Open Table and walked away as we did after 15mins
Maybe an update is required?!
Food and ambiance were nice but it took a while before our waitress shows up while another party was seated after us, they were already served with water. Our waitress was little off and not quiet attentive. She didn’t seem to know what’s available in the kitchen that we can switch things up with. The cocktail flight was over priced also.
Took my reservation over open table- confirmed my reservation BUT THEY WERE NOT OPEN AT SAID TIME. Drove 1-12 hours to meet family there for lunch. Unbelievable!!
Dishes and drinks were slightly uneven. Do not recommend the scallops. The Caesar salad was wonderful but the croutons were flavorless and dry. The burger was really good and the fries were amazing! The octopus was ok- could have been a bit more flavorful . The craft cocktails were disappointing but the standard cocktails were terrific! Staff was at attentive.
This restaurant needs a lot of help if they want to stay in business. ALL of the staff was new & inexperienced. The food was horrible….overcooked, dry, uninteresting. There were 4 of us. We all ordered entrees, a calamari to share to start & 2 had salads. The 1st thing that came out was my entree, all by itself with no appetizer or salads to be seen. We had them take it back & bring the right course. After that, we sat for 30 minutes before we saw food again. Meanwhile they kept warming my salmon until it was a hockey puck by the time they reserved it. The waitress clearly did not know the menu & could make no recommendations on wines, beers, cocktails, etc. Finally the manager showed up & offered us dessert & to comp our cocktails. When my friend finally received her hamburger it had no bun, no heirloom tomato (which was listed on the menu), a HUGE pile of lettuce & nothing else. My friend asked for salt 3 times & finally got up and got it herself. My husband ordered a beer…they brought it in a bottle without the top removed. He had to go to the bar to get it opened. I hope they get themselves together or they are going to be gone. I realize staff is difficult to come by right now, but if staff is new, they need to be trained. The manager finally comped our entire meal (such as it was), which redeemed them somewhat. Beware of this restaurant!
Ate outside. Exceptional service and attentiveness. Food was delicious and wine selection more than adequate. Curbside seating a bit noisy at times but beyond the restaurant’s control. Highly recommend.
Tasteless food, dreadful ambiance, slow service. Bare table setting, had to get up to get salt and pepper, asked for water 3 times, did not have local Pinot noir, ran out of fettuccine, plus think my glass of Zinfandel was off A miserable restaurant experience. AVOID.
Steak. Overcooked. Potatoes. Overcooked. Drinks were good.
Food had no taste!! Very disappointed! Drinks were the best part of the meal
Wait staff seemed like she was high. She didn't even know what wine was which and had to ask us 3 times what wine my father wanted. Then I asked for forks for us because the host had cleared ours and never brought any back (we could have reused) it took 5 times asking for them and then the manager finally came and gave us some. There were only 12 other people in the entire place. The whole experience was not well. The food was just OK but not for the increased prices, I know COVID but still not worth the money for what you get. The only thing that was delish was the lilac cocktail I ordered that had a dead ant floating in it. So I would say it was less than appetizing after that. They have gone extremely down hill since they reopened.
Interesting variety of cocktails. Had 3 different one: Naked & Famous, Old Fashion, Dusty dream… dusty dream reminded a soap))) had also octopus… will recommend to Chef to make it more soft, cause it was too tough/hard to cut and eat, and to much grilled (had some burnt-sacrifice). Very tasty and would have one more time steak with delicious mushrooms, it was so yammy.
Overpriced, very noisy, food mediocre. Service ok, but even the servers had trouble hearing.
Food arrived cold after waiting almost 40 minutes for our meal. We had to send the entrée back to the kitchen. The bill, without alcohol, was almost $75 for two salmon entrees. Not a great value. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. We sat on the outside patio and the noise from the bar next door often made talking difficult.
Overall not great. The salad we ordered was missing about three ingredients listed on the menu. When we told the server, she said the kitchen told her they were "out" of those items. Probably should not have let us order the salad if that was the case.
Calamari was clearly frozen and not made there which is surprising since Sonoma county has access to great, fresh seafood.
Mushroom risotto was overly salty and overcooked.
The cocktail flight had one decent drink and other three were terrible.
It felt like the least value I have ever gotten out of spending $110.00
The appetizers were very mediocre. We did not stay for the remainder of the meal.
We intended to have a quick bite with some drinks where we could keep an eye on the game.
We ended up staying until closing because we enjoyed our experience so much. We sat at the bar and Giovanni was our bartender and server. He was great! Suggested several cocktails he thought we would like based on our conversation.
Old fashioned cocktail was delicious. Other drinks were decent. Food was decent. Will be back for drinks and appetizers.
The service was fantastic, much improved. The food was delicious. The cocktails aren’t as fresh tasting as the past, unfortunately.
Poor service, asked for bread 4 times..no bread. Calamari was hard and extra crunchy. I will never go back again.
Food was not great - over salted and some entrees came out cold.
Dinner with friends
Nice setting; good food; good service.
I cannot say enough about the diver scallops. An amazing combination of flavors make this one of the most unique dishes I have ever had. On the other hand, the "classic Caesar salad" was kind of blah. Little discernable garlic, and no croutons. Can the salad be "classic" with those missing? My date had the NY strip steak, and pronounced it good but not great.
Overall, it was a good time. Service was for the most part, on point, server wasn’t too concerned with how the food was, and didn’t check in, but food and drinks were brought out promptly.
Calamari was chewy and over cooked, I had to bring it up with the server, as she didn’t ask, but she said she would inform the kitchen. I ordered the ribeye steak, steak was cooked rare, as I asked, and was quite flavorful. The arugula salad that came with it was unpalatably over salted, once again the server did not ask how everything was.
Again, I didn’t feel like this was a poor experience, however I do believe that the food and service could stand to improve.
Awful service, felt rushed. overpriced, food was really salty
Great cocktails, thanks
I had a pretty poor experience. Placed an order for a chicken salad and though not listed, it came with a hard boiled egg. I asked the gentleman who brought it to me (older, white haired) if it came with a hard boiled egg, and he said yes. When i mentioned that this wasn't listed on the menu so it caught me by surprise, he asked if I wanted them to remake it, to which I said yes, please. 3 minutes later he brings me another salad and this time it doesn't have egg, but also doesn't have blue cheese, which IS on the menu. I let our original server know and she was very kind in having it corrected. Unfortunately, when the "correct" dish came, it was really bad. The salad was thrown together haphazardly, there were about 2 extra long pieces of shredded carrot, and the chicken was so dry and bland. This salad was $17! Truly not good and absolutely not worth the price for a salad that could not have been more lazily made. My server was kind enough to remove it from the bill, but overall I had a poor experience and would not return
So hard for these restaurants to get help and product to operate. We love this restaurant and the mixology and creative menu and we'll continue to give them our business when we can, but it is with lowered expectations unfortunately. I hope they work this out and become the stunning restaurant we know they were and can be.
Staff is awesome, especially Mia i believe her name is. Great experience all around
will definitely be back again
Everything was great except that the A/C wasn't able to keep up with the heat!
Made a reservation and made it as far as ordering drinks. Our server never came back with them and was bussing a table. She came back and asked if we were ready to order and I asked her if the drinks were coming (it had been about 15 minutes). She said “oh yeah. I’ll check on those.” And then proceeded to bus a table. There was no one waiting, most other tables had their food already, and I can’t understand why, at 8pm on a Wednesday, we made a reservation and waited over 20 minutes for a glass of wine and the restaurant wasn’t busy. We got up to leave and told the server. She goes, “oh sorry!” And went back to bussing a table so the zero people waiting could have a place to sit.
We headed next door to Beer Baron. It was wonderful and prompt! Food was delicious. I’ll be reviewing them next.
Sent steak back twice for being over cooked.
Aside from overcooked steak all was good
Food was great and service excellent. Loved the drink flights. Recommend.
Drinks were good . The mushroom risotto was awesome ! (And I don’t even like mushrooms)
