Our waitress was lovely, we really enjoyed ourselves.
Food was good and the staff was very attentive. Comfortable outdoor seating is available.
One of the best outdoor parklets in SF. Individual booths, plenty of heaters as needed, white tablecloths, comfortable chairs (not hard metal) and the delicious food served by an attentive staff! The charm of the cable cars rolling by while their gripmen practiced prior to the line starting up soon. Good people watching, too. Loved it!
Classy vibe upon walking in.
The staff was immediately attentive and courteous.
The appetizers were flawless in appearance taste. The cheese with watermelon(!) and heirloom tomatoes with an exotic pepper dosed olive oil was spectacular.
The pasta.course was won by the little ears- a pesto pasta with sausage and a sharp Parmigiano.
I opted for the halibut and was blown away at the presentation and flavor- moist, buttery and delicate. My wife was disappointed with her choice of the short rib- the first was a tough, stringy disappointment, but another was brought and was much better, but the halibut stole the show.
The chocolate cake. Get it. Done.
Creative takes on Italian cuisine. Risotto, frito misto, and braised Brussels sprouts were all good, but not outstanding. Good selection of wines by the glass. Prices were in line with the quality and quantity of food. Excellent service.
It was our first time back at Perbacco since December 2019 and every aspect of the operation was in top form. General Manager/Owner Umberto Gibin is still on top of all the myriad details that make the restaurant so special. The food was delicious and the servers, runners and bussers kept the whole place humming. What a treat!
Poor service since we arrived, our table wasn’t ready
I’ve been going to Perbacco for many years as a work staple. Unfortunately, the service was horrible and we had a very bad experience. Seems they are short staffed, which I can appreciate with Covid, but more than that, they were extremely rude. Will never be going back there again.
Superb Reconnection With One of San Francisco's Finest! The food, the service, the ambience -- all were even better than I remembered. Bravo, Perbacco, for coming back strong!
Everything was very good. Fast seating, good choice of dishes, a waiter who spent just the right amount of time with us and didn't rush us and was observant when wine was low or bread was all gone.
It was so good to be in a nice restaurant that took us back to the time before the pandemic. Thank You for the experience.
Outstanding as always. Handling distancing, playing and service with the same high quality as always. Thank you for a great Friday lunch!
We shared 2 appetizers; the Frito Misto and Veal with Tuna and Caper sauce. They were both unexpected, but delicious in execution, and would've been enough to ensure we had room for dessert, but we'd also ordered the Fettucine with lamb ragu and corn to share. It was equally delicious; rich and flavorful, but we struggled to finish the shared portion.
Our server, Roberto, was excellent and we asked him to 'surprise' us with a wine that would complement our meal - his choice was perfect. All round a delightful lunch and worth another visit.
Great service and good food, convivial atmosphere. Very enjoyable experience.
Great food, service and atmosphere!
Thanks Mariano for taking care of us!
Will be back soon.
I love the place, it's just generally loud (as one expects a popular place to be) and warm.
Perbacco is always wonderful. The food is delicious, the staff is fun, and the atmosphere is lively. It feels great to be back there!
So tasty and easy to get a reservation - definitely recommend.
We sat outside so didn't know how to rate ambiance or noise. Food and service was terrific.
I absolutely love Perbacco and have been there many times. The food is consistently tasty and original. Prices are very reasonable for San Francisco and the staff is very efficient and friendly. I had the tagliatelli with a sausage and mushroom sauce and different that your customary red italian sauce. Also had a green salad with fresh peccorino cheese that was fresh and just the right size. Also, the pastas come in two sizes which is a nice option. I will go back again as soon as I'm in SF.
We were able to eat outside with a nice heater so not ideal but still great- the inside looks more refined and elegant but even outside the service was perfect and the food was topnotch. Defintely would recommend this place. I had the snap pea salad that was yummy, a delicious homemade pasta with quail and real black truffle that was stellar, and a stone fruit dessert with lemon verbena gelato that was memorable for its intense fresh flavors.
No matter what you order on their menu, your meal will be delicious. Perbacco’s service is attentive without being intrusive. The staff and kitchen manage a large number of people without skipping a beat. We love this place.
The inviting menu of Italian food was deliciously prepared, revealing wonderful respect for ingredients. Staff is simpatico knowledgeable and attentive. Their outdoor parklette is nicely designed, even lux, and peaceful; inside is extremely lively.
We had an amazing dinner and fantastic help with the wine list. All the food was exceptional and the wines were top tier with wide knowledge of each. Can't wait to go back!
Grazie per il pranzo meraviglioso! The Risotto was the best we've had since
Venice and every dish was done perfectly and with the finest ingredients. The wine was
elegant, delicious and chilled perfectly.
The service was impeccable and gracious. We shall be back soon.

Had lunch outside with granddaughter and our dog. Outdoor table and seating is comfortable and well designed. The whole wait staff, especially our waiter, was phenomenal- friendly, caring, informative and prompt. He even brought a water bowl for our dog. Pasta dishes we had were perfectly prepared and as tasty as always. So nice to come back to Perbacco. Will be returning soon.
The food is exceptional. The duck breast is so tender and paired with the stone fruit, it's just delicious. In fact, all the dishes I've ever had were delicious and cooked to perfection. Interesting variety of pastas and salads. Service is very good and the ambiance is lovely. Also, the noise level is quite moderate so you can actually have a conversation without shouting at each other.
Great food and service. Usually have dinner here but it’s def in a good spot for lunch
Highly recommended, as good as ever, excellent food and service.
Perbacco is becoming the favorite restaurant for everyone I bring here. Service has been superb every time. See you soon
Sadly we found Perbacco disappointing. Two of us had the halibut, and although the fish was cooked perfectly, the flavor was limited to that of the fish itself - no effort to complement or add interest or dress it up in any way. The risotto was similarly disappointing - competent and good, certainly, but somewhat uninspired. The same was true for the physical presentation of all the food. The beet salad, on the other hand, was made delicious and interesting by the addition of plums, and the vegetarian pasta was likewise delicious and interesting with corn, spinach, and an umami-packed brown sauce. However, given the prices, we felt a bit disappointed as a whole.
Service was attentive and unobtrusive. Food there is really good. The pastas are terrific.
Three years ago everything was better; food, atmosphere, service. The food is now just Ok. The noise is too too high
Toda la comida y las bebidas de muy buena calidad y el personal fue muy receptivo acerca de requerimientos especiales sobre la comida
Food was about average for the price point; service was inattentive throughout.
Despite having a large staff, it was—repeatedly—difficult to get the server’s attention. Initially, we were brought the wrong food. We hadn’t even ordered. The food was good +, but the overall experience wasn’t commensurate with a $100 per person dinner. Excellent wine list.
What a great place to celebrate a birthday! The food was delicious and the waitstaff was very attentive. We’ll be back!
A wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary!
Great experience for our twins 20th birthday! The service was consistently top notch, especially Dario our waiter who was appropriately superb! We started with the Fritto Misto, the Burrata Cheese, and the Brussels Sprouts - all flavorful and tasty. We also had the Barbacco Polpette (meatballs) as an appetizer instead of an entree and it was as we’d hope, juicy and generous.
Our main dishes were the Agnolotti Dal Plin pasta, the Pappardelle pasta, the Northern Halibut, and the Brown Butter Roasted Pork Loin; all well presented and delicious. Dessert was the Gianduja Mousse and the Burnt Caramel Gelato, yummy and enjoyable! Perbacco also served the Brutti Ma Buoni( the “ugly but good” cookies) with “Happy Birthday!” written in chocolate! The ambience was fun and relaxed and would highly recommend Perbacco for special occasions as well as all occasions for a great dining night out.
When people say perfection is not possible, I can definitely say it's possible & Umberto Gibin has created it @ Perbacco!!!!
Beautifully presented cal-Italian food with professional service in a comfortable setting.
