Sleek and modern with one foot firmly in the Old World is the feeling at Perbacco. The restaurant boasts a brick wall original to the historic 1913 Hind building, with other touches such as a bar top and floor tiles made from white Carrara marble. With 16 seats at the bar and 7 more intimate tables, Perbacco creates an atmosphere for a glass of wine or a light bite. Perbacco also features 2 dining rooms, one on the main floor and a smaller one on the Mezzanine, which has the added allure of serving as "theater", with windows to watch all the action in the kitchen below.
Chef Staffan Terje strives to cook the finest food reflecting the Italian regions of Piemonte and Liguria. Handcrafted, house-made salumi, prosciutto and other charcuterie are not to be missed. Seasonal pastas, a tradition in Piemonte, range from the traditional ravioli to the more exotic agnolotti. Main courses feature dishes such as stuffed quail breast, a selection of seafood dishes, and vegetarian options.

Perbacco accommodates groups of all sizes. A 18 seat "wine and dine" room features a temperature controlled wine cellar and a private atmosphere, without being too secluded. A 40-seat private room is also available for meetings, birthdays, and other occasions.

My son & I visited Perbacco on a recent trip to San Francisco. We had a great time. Our server helped us with both the wine list and the menu. We enjoyed tasting a number of dishes, in part because the restaurant offers smaller sized portions on past items. We really enjoyed this element.

We love this place. It is vibrant but you always feel taken care of. It is worth the drive from Sonoma County to dine here. The sommelier has great reccommendations and the wine list is wonderful. And Umberto always seems to keep things humming.
We always feel special when we dine here.

This is a very friendly restaurant where staff do their best at providing you with comfort in a place that isn't too noisy. They are honest & sincere.

Great attention to detail. Top-notch service. Fresh ingredients, beautifully prepared dishes. Cannot say enough about the level of service from the staff - very attentive, but never hovering. Just lovely people who seem sincere in wanting to make sure diners have a great experience.

From the service to the food, all was outstanding. We had the chef's table next to the kitchen and very attentive service. We have had meals based on Umberto's influence before and this did not disappoint.

Outstanding menu in a very appealing setting. The wait staff was available and attentive but not obtrusive. One of the better and more interesting dinners I’ve had in recent years when visiting San Francisco.

Initially really good experience. Staff friendly. Nice bday cards from restaurant. Then perhaps bc we didn’t order enough or maybe bc waitstaff got busy we felt neglected. Waitstaff seems impatient. No water refill. We asked for bread- never came although all the tables around us had bread ,!and I saw someone walk by with what seemed like bread for us. It was like they deemed that we didn’t need or deserve it. We are generally positive people but each of us after said- “that was a weird experience”. The appetizers were ok - heirloom tomatoes were a little mealy. Pasta was really good and generous portions.

Great food, great people working at the restaurant. Good wine list. The Place was noisy for business meeting and tables are very close to each other. And my recommendation to the server team is to open bottle of wine at the table and keep the open bottle on the the table, instead of keep it in a remote location.

Delicious, authentic food and lovely service. We sat in a booth near the front of the restaurant and it was quite quiet. Loved the octopus in particular and the dessert.

We love Perbacco. We always go on our way from the Ferry, have dinner and then go to our Show at SHN. I brought some friends with us this past Friday. They loved it!!! Except at the very end of dinner as we were paying our check, we noticed our waiter passing out hot dinner rolls to the next table. They never, the whole evening, offered us any. Very disappointed:((

The waiter really sets the tone of experience. I couldn't have felt more unimportant and almost like I was a nuisance to him. The food was over priced and mediacor at best.

Every time I come to San Francisco, I try to get to Perbacco. The food is always excellent, the wine list extensive and the service outstanding. With me we’re some people that were new to Perbacco and their experience was equally wonderful.

The team at Perbacco made me feel so special on my birthday. The hand written birthday note was so great. My boyfriend and I had a beautiful time and the food was so great! I loved the table we had. Great location. Cocktails were amazing, the Plin Con Salsicca Di Anatra was to die for! Overall I had such a beautiful time.

Very knowledgeable wine person. She was very helpfully in helping us pick out our wine. Our server paced dinner never felt rushed. Our two pasta dishes were excellent. Will definitely be back.

I am a regular patron of Perbacco for business meals. The food is always delicious. Depending on where your table is, you may actually be able to hear each other talk! Always in search of quiet restaurants with good food.

Food and service was great. Only complaint I have is the 2 people tables are way too close together and a bit noisy. Next time I will just request a booth. However, your food is very tasty and the service was on point. Our pork chop came medium rare and we asked for it to be taken back and cooked medium well. The server and food runner handled it immediately and they were both very gracious about it. I will defiantly come back

This is our third time at Perbaco and it has consistently impressed us. The food is just delicious, every time and everyone at the table. The service was ok and friendly but could have been a bit better. LOVED the papardeli pasta with meat and the cheese filled raviola with sweet corn sauce! Wine steward helped make a good selection and dessert of gelato was tasty too.

Very nice and interesting pasta variations. Norhing you have seen before, perfectly cooked. Unfortunately no lighter options. Venue is little bit too dense with lot of tables and pretty noisy. Good for lunch, maybe not cosy enough for dinner.

Met colleagues for lunch and it was fantastic!
We had reservation at 11:30 and has to wait until exactly 11:30 to be seated at this first seating. If you come at 11:20, why wait to be seated at 11:30 exactly?
