Sleek and modern with one foot firmly in the Old World is the feeling at Perbacco. The restaurant boasts a brick wall original to the historic 1913 Hind building, with other touches such as a bar top and floor tiles made from white Carrara marble. With 16 seats at the bar and 7 more intimate tables, Perbacco creates an atmosphere for a glass of wine or a light bite. Perbacco also features 2 dining rooms, one on the main floor and a smaller one on the Mezzanine, which has the added allure of serving as "theater", with windows to watch all the action in the kitchen below. Chef Staffan Terje strives to cook the finest food reflecting the Italian regions of Piemonte and Liguria. Handcrafted, house-made salumi, prosciutto and other charcuterie are not to be missed. Seasonal pastas, a tradition in Piemonte, range from the traditional ravioli to the more exotic agnolotti. Main courses feature dishes such as stuffed quail breast, a selection of seafood dishes, and vegetarian options.

Went for a date night and had a great time. Food was amazing and the service was great. Was very nice that they were able to accommodate us moving from a sidewalk table to one of their outdoor booths, since it was a windy night. Unfortunately, they couldn't seat us inside. But, that was not their fault, as I had made the outdoor reservation due to covid.

The staff were very friendly and treated us very well. It really is a great restaurant. The food was excellent except for the brussels sprouts. They were so loaded with anchovy and vinegar and so overcooked that they seemed like they had been sitting for days in a pot. You couldn’t even taste the Brussels sprouts themselves. We’ve gone to Perbacco for years and their food is generally excellent but the brussels sprouts were a real dip in their normal quality standards. We found them almost inedible. We were being treated so nicely and with so much attention, that we didn’t return the sprouts, maybe we should have.

So nice to be dining with a little “class” and not out of a cardboard box! Lovely spot in the Financial District and very safe Covid protocols. The food was excellent! I opted for the SF restaurant week menu - a bargain. The beets and burratta were exquisite and my Halibut in cioppino broth was delightful. Paired the meal with Peter Paul Chardonnay which served a soft palette for the subtle flavors of my entree. Only negative was slow service and uneven attention and timing. But please don’t pass this restaurant by! Just getting up to speed after reopening.

it's great to have perbacco opened back up for indoor dining. It has always been one of my favorite spaces in SF dining. We were fortunate to be eating there during SF Dining week and had the excellent tasting and value soup or salad and a pasta for $25 each. The pasta was terrific. Our service was exceptional.

This was our first dinner out since the pandemic shut down began. Perbacco could not have been a better choice in terms of making us feel safe and cared for—outdoor seating safely distances from others with plentiful heat lamps as needed & masked staff who had received the vaccine & were very attentive w/o being overbearing. And, of course, the food was delicious, as always. It was an excellent dinner start to finish.

Under the most difficult of years, Perbacco remains consistently at the top in service, atmosphere, and food. What a tremendous feeling it was to be back indoors as without skipping a beat - as though the past year had never happened. The elegant thoughtful service coupled with the Piedmontese specialties that our family has enjoyed over the years made this an extremely special evening.
