Chef Staffan Terje strives to cook the finest food reflecting the Italian regions of Piemonte and Liguria. Handcrafted, house-made salumi, prosciutto and other charcuterie are not to be missed. Seasonal pastas, a tradition in Piemonte, range from the traditional ravioli to the more exotic agnolotti. Main courses feature dishes such as stuffed quail breast, a selection of seafood dishes, and vegetarian options.

The food was excellent. The pasta, risotto and duck were delicious. The waiter staff checked on us often. I would eat here again.
Perbacco did not disappoint in the least. We were greeted by owner Umberto Gibin, to what turned out to be an excellent meal. The octopus appetizer was especially tasty, not to mention the squid ink pasta and duck breast which ere on point. Our friends were very pleased.
Great food but too loud to have a decent conversation.
I have been to Perbacco several times for work and I’ve never been disappointed. Our server was out of this world and the sommelier was very helpful. Whenever I walk I to a nice restaurant often times my dinner service isn’t very good because they see that we are younger, however, this was not the case and I was pleasantly surprised. Good food, outstanding service, and reasonably priced. They made my friend’s birthday extra special and she loved this place. I love this place and will be back again very soon.
Food was amazing. Service was outstanding. Made a trip to the city for my birthday celebration and the staff at Perbacco made it a special one.
This is our 4th time eating there. This time was for my wife’s birthday. The evening started with us finding a parking spot across the street! Unheard of in San Francisco! We sat at the bar for 30 minutes before being seated, to relax. One of the bartenders was someone our daughter had gone to high school with. Once seated, the server was excellent and the food was fabulous! We had a wonderful evening. We brought our own Japanese cake, which they served with candles. AND, the bill was reasonable for four people!
Food was delicious. Fresh-made pasta wonderful. Tried bites of all of our entrees and each was delicious. Service excellent and reasonable prices. Can’t wait to go back.
We sat at the Chef's Table, watching the kitchen magic happen, as well as enjoying the quieter location to converse. We had the Soup du Jour (A tomato base, vegetable and pasta - warming on a stormy night), shared a salad and a marinated herring appetizer. We had Risotto with sweetbreads, the Garganelli Neri, Pappardelle and the Tamarin. We all liked what we had ordered. Then, we split 2 desserts: a Wine Poached Pear with pear spice cake, and Burnt Caramel Gelato with a pignoli cookie.
Delicious and beautifully prepared culinary choices and Excellent Service. Highly recommend!
Great! Will be back!
Terrific food from a widely varied menu, incl. good vegetarian and several vegan options, excellent by the glass wine selection. Impeccable service, perfectly attentive but not intrusive. Way less loud upstairs than on main level.
I’ve brought many friends and enjoyed everything each time.
From the moment I walked in to Perbacco, I was treated as your best friend was coming to have dinner with you!!! Every morsel was superb, every drink amazing, service was superior!!! Every interaction with the staff at Perbacco made you feel like a valued guest. The four of us dining each had something different so we were able to try a variety of dishes. To say the least, we were all smiling!!! Thank you Perbacco!!! We will definitely be back!!!!
Perbacco is an excellent restaurant that we have enjoyed over the past 10 years. They have continued to innovate with new offerings, while at the same time, retaining old favorites, particularly the pastas. One of our favorite SF restaurants. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Our server did a terrific job of being attentive without being over overbearing. The food was terrific, including several excellent appetizers, a pasta course, and a main course. All excellent, served perfectly. One other thing- the restaurant has a terrific wine list, particularly for Italian wines. We had an excellent Montefalco, which are not often on restaurant menus.
Service and food always excellent. I go there with co workers for special occasions.
We've enjoyed this restaurant many times over the years and were thrilled, on this return visit, that the quality of all aspects of Perbacco has remained.
Great food, served really quickly, paired with solid service. Will be back when in SFO again.
Delicious food, excellent service, great vibe, noisy
Arrived early. Not a problem. Food and service e cellent
Another very yummy & memorable meal @ Perbacco.
Our shared Veal-tuna app (VITELLO TONNATO) worked well & way better when placed on requested bread, amazing pasta 2nd course (TAJARIN), great halibut & pork loin entrees with side of glazed farm carrots, ended with 2 chocolate desserts & side of assorted cookies, the eggwhite-hazelnut clusters (BRUTTI MA BUONI) were truly A++++. Too bad Owners Umberto & Staffan had left before our 9pm arrival, place only 1/2 full by then on a rainy Saturday night...I guess they have other things to do on Saturday nights nowadays & trust their Staff to run the place as they would. Here’s to memorable food still in SF & SF FiDi !
Lovely in every way. Thank you!
Friendly customer service and respectable prices. Our dining experience was great and would recommend this place to anybody who would want a nice casual evening.
Food was delicious & interesting. Service was outstanding- particularly the sommelier. She gave us great advice & a high level of personal attention. The delicious wine & her knowledgeable enthusiasm enhanced our meal.
Service was choppy at best. Slow, distracted.
Great lunch spot
I went to the restaurant with several girlfriends. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was wonderful.
Great food and service, but extremely noisy even though we asked for a quiet table.
I love Perbacco! I have been here many times. This was a business lunch and I have to say it was near perfect. We had excellent food & service. It was a late holiday thank you lunch and it was a great memory for myself and my customer. Cheers! PS We all loved the sunchokes for an appetizer. What a unique dish!
this was really great....will be going back often!
Food and service both good but not much style in either. Place is very noisy for serious conversation. Popular and good value for its class.
Family get together
DELICIOUS! Beautiful spot with delicious food - and very friendly and flexible staff. Will definitely return!
I've been going to Perbacco often starting with its opening 13 years ago. I find the staff friendly and professional, the food is always outstanding and we invariably have fun. I love the freshness of the food, much made in house. Umberto runs a tight ship but is one of the best hosts in the City. Wine recommendations have always been spot on and acknowledge the value goal the customer has in mind. It isn't the cheapest meal in town and some spots in the restaurant can be a little noisy. That said it is our favorite for just the two of us, with friends, or for business. Strongly recommend Perbacco.
We had a fabulous meal. I think though that our reservation matched several others as the restaurant was super busy within moments of seating (5:45). Our wait staff did the best they could considering every table was full with 15 minutes. I suspect there was a show nearby?? And that's my only slight complaint!
Outstanding food and even better service. Will definitely go back. Great pasta.
The duck was raw and the stuffed cabbage with it made me sick! very greasy, the octopus appetizer was very good the pan cotta not good. Good bread.
The first bottle o wine was sent back, something we never do, but the staff was very gracious,
Too expensive for the food served.
Great culinary experience
First time to your restaurant. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back.
Outstanding food... great menu..
Excellent service. Noise is difficult for hearing impaired guests.
