Sleek and modern with one foot firmly in the Old World is the feeling at Perbacco. The restaurant boasts a brick wall original to the historic 1913 Hind building, with other touches such as a bar top and floor tiles made from white Carrara marble. With 16 seats at the bar and 7 more intimate tables, Perbacco creates an atmosphere for a glass of wine or a light bite. Perbacco also features 2 dining rooms, one on the main floor and a smaller one on the Mezzanine, which has the added allure of serving as "theater", with windows to watch all the action in the kitchen below. Chef Staffan Terje strives to cook the finest food reflecting the Italian regions of Piemonte and Liguria. Handcrafted, house-made salumi, prosciutto and other charcuterie are not to be missed. Seasonal pastas, a tradition in Piemonte, range from the traditional ravioli to the more exotic agnolotti. Main courses feature dishes such as stuffed quail breast, a selection of seafood dishes, and vegetarian options.

I moved to Santa Rosa over ten years ago, but I make it a point to dine at Perbacco whenever I am in San Francisco. The food -- classic Italian -- was excellent as usual. What makes dining at Perbacco special is the service. I arrived early an enjoyed a drink at the bar served by Josue. Our waitress Jaime was outstanding. Mark, the sommelier, recommended an excellent Chianti. Umberto, the owner, was at his usual charming self. Benissimo!

I found the pasta I that I ordered （tamarin pork sugo) was salty. The porchetta was also a bit salty . The antipasti （Fritos misto, roasted octopus, vitello tomato）were excellent. Very delicious. our waiter was so friendly and attentive. Excellent service!

I admire Perbacco for its consistency. Nothing has changed in nearly 20 years, but it isn't tired, or resting on its laurels. The food and the service is always top quality. It is still my go to for a Financial District lunch. I love the pastas.

Our family of six thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Perbacco. I wish we lived nearby so we could visit more often. Everyone on staff seemed to be happy we were there. The special drinks were very fresh and the size was generous. All our dinners were full of flavor and perfectly prepared, including pasta and streak. We loved the variety of desserts, sized just right for sharing.

The food was very good, as was the service. I asked for a wine recommendation, which turned out to be great. It was a bit loud, but we were still able to talk. Although the restaurant was quite full, we didn't feel cramped because they don't pack the tables too closely. Quite comfortable. We'll be back.

Perbacco was recommended to us so we were so excited to try it! We walked in and was immediately impressed with the decor and how we were greeted! The restaurant was quite crowded and everyone looked like they there enjoying their meal. We started with some amazing cocktails then moved onto to the shishito peppers and melon salad. Just wow! If the appetizers are this good……we can’t wait for our entrees! I got the Tajarin and it was absolutely delicious. My husband got the filet mignon and he loved it. Our friends got the pappardelle and risotto. We are definitely going to frequent this restaurant! The service was awesome!
