Pera Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We met friends there for dinner on a Sunday evening. Authentic Turkish cuisine which we thoroughly enjoyed. Excellent service and advice in terms of ordering. The restaurant has a good wine list and we enjoyed our selections. We ordered an assorted starter plate for appetizers and then our entrees.
We discovered this restaurant while on a weekend getaway. We love the Mediterranean flair and the service was excellent. The food was wonderful and the wine reasonably priced. The owner was in the restaurant and made us feel right at home. We would definitely come back to Pera if we are ever in Williamstown again!
We had an excellent dinner at Pera Bistro and we are glad there is another ethnic food option in Williamstown.
The service was prompt and the food very good. We particularly appreciated the complimentary beans with olive oil and seasonings that were served before our meals arrived.
Atmosphere was warm and cozy and it was not too noisy.
We will be back.
The problem with monopolies are that they don't need to keep improving. It's the only grown up place in town and they k ow it. The rest is for the students. Anyway, although the meet was tender and nice it lacked in flavor, simplicity characteristic of a Greek or Turkish restaurant and the condiments were all cheap. If you must you must as there is. Ot much Choice (at least that would be seriously any better) in the area despite some serious research.
Pera came highly recommended. The dining room is beautiful and interesting. The menu was varied, but the food tried to do too much with strange combinations of too many ingredients. The scallops were overpowered by the bed of lentils.
The main problem was service. The waitress served other tables and occasionally glanced at us at a corner table but took about 15 minutes to bring menus. Later, it was hard to get her attention and she seemed somewhere between bored and indifferent.
It was a disappointment. That was in contrast with the enthusiastic and cheerful greeting at the front desk when we came in.
As always we were greeted as valued customers and enjoyed a wonderful meal (the shrimp Fra Diavalo was great). The drinks menu is expanding and becoming more interesting and the wait-staff was knowledgeable as always. This is out favorite North County dining spot.
We had a wonderful dinner for two at a lovely table. Excellent service. Thanks to hostess & server, who also made our drinks. We emphasised the traditional Turkish Mediterranean aspects of the menu from cocktails & starter to mains & Turkish coffee and a lemony dessert. We've visited a number of times before & will continue to return & highly recommend.
We have been here many times before. I hate to give the food only 3 stars this time but my salad was overdressed, the falafel wrap pita was not as moist as is typical (over crisped) and the falafel not as flavorful as previously remembered. We'll probably be back though- we love this place overall.
The lamb flatbread, spanakopita and watermelon salad have been our favorite starters/small plates this summer. The lamb bolognese is a standout (huge serving, too). Salmon's a good light entree. Lamb kabob was disappointingly tough. Music and ambient noise are perfect for conversation and the staff is always gracious and on the ball.
The food at Pera is delicious and authentic! The owners from Istanbul have created a menu and environment of hospitality that make it out favorite restaurant in Williamstown. A group of
Omnivores and vegans can eat equally well from the excellent menu. A sampler platter of appetizers is a must to start the meal and add the baba ganoush; it is outstanding. Soups salads and pastas are all fresh and the watermelon feta was particularly delicious this summer. A lovely dining experience.
