If you haven’t tried Peppercorns you owe it to yourself to do so. The artichokes, the ravioli, the ossobuco all of it so delicious!
We loved everything from beginning to end. Such a nice caring staff.
We celebrated our mother’s 80th and the chef did not disappoint. Good and service were amazing. Delectable desserts.
My favorite restaurant in downtown Hartford and surrounding areas. The staff always aims to please.
What a great meal we had before our show. Everything went perfectly and plenty of time to get to show. We’ll be back.
Amazing all around.
I will be counting the days until I can return to Peppercorns.
Gem of a restaurant in downtown Hartford. The food and the service are amazing
The manager was sooo nice. He actually drove us to the Busnell theater after dinner so we wouldn't be late for the show. That was totally unexpected and so appreciated. Thank you thank you.
Great food! Great service! We’ve been a few times and consistently have a great experience !
My theater group which goes to the Bushnell Broadway series have been dining here for years and I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal, we have tried everything on the menu through the years. The service is just as impeccable and consistent as ever; even with the constraints of today’s issues our meal last night was enjoyable as always. Date night, treat yourself right night and any other reason you want to enjoy a night out thus is yhe place.
Wonderful As Always!!
The best pastas and veal dishes anywhere.
We savored every morsel it was all so delicious m.
We cannot wait to go back
Consistently amazing and I have been going there for over thirty years
Jurgen is amazing!!
Best meal we’ve had in a very long time. You must try it if you love Italian fine dining
It was our first time to dine at Peppercorns but certainly won’t be our last. It was an enjoyable experience from start to finish.
Consistently wonderful meals
Always dependable with a nice staff.
The best Italian hands down anywhere around. If great Italian is what your looking for go there. From
The homemade pastas to the veal dishes to seafood all delectable. Homemade bread and desserts too.
A wonderful culinary experience with creative specialties as well as a well rounded wine list. Our group enjoyed everything.
Great meal as usual. The service was right up there with the quality of the food. Can’t wait to go back.
Excellent food and service
We loved everything we ate last night from beginning to end. Our server Harris was as charming as could be. It was knowledgeable about the menu and took very good care of us.
Food and service were fantastic as usual
Always a great meal and great experience.
I love going to this place. It’s always a great experience from start to finish. Service was great too. Our server Harris was so efficient and very nice. The staff were helping each other and to care about each other. Such a nice experience.
A great meal at Peppercorns
We haven’t been there since COVID-19.
The food was even better than I remember and the drinks creative. We are so glad we returned.
Great food. Stress on staff but they were awesome
Peppercorns was so busy with Bushnell crowd. So glad to see them so busy. The have less staff right now.
They worked so hard and made it work. Food was fantastic as usual.
Selected Peppercorns because it was right near the Bushnell where my friend and I were attending an event. The restaurant was down wait staff which all places are right now. But they did everything they could and were hustling! Food was extremely good, beautiful presentation as well. Great cocktails. Would definitely go again. They make al their pasta in house. Just have to remember to be patient with the staff as they work through unprecedented times.
The best Italian restaurant around by far run by an Italian family. They really run a great place.
Peppercorns shines with great food and pleasant efficient service even with labor shortage they come through
This is Italian that one doesn't even get in NYC. Very good menu, obviously homemade to the greatest extent possible. Generous portions, well presented. Very nice and well priced wine list as well. Staff was very busy as this was a family weekend at Trinity and all hands were on deck; most nights are likely quieter. But everyone was very pleasant.
This was our first and last experience at Peppercorn's. We had a 6PM reservation and we were 5 minutes early. There was no place to stand. Everyone was gathered around the hostess station and everyone had reservations. They actually turned away a group of 4 that came in right after us even though they had reservations. The woman said "usually when you make reservations the restaurant saves a table". She's obviously correct but the hostess just shrugged and apologized.
We were seated at 6:15 and we didn't receive any drinks until 6:35. We immediately ordered our entrees. Our show began at 8pm and our plan was to order entrees and desserts. We didn't even have time to get our desserts so thankfully they took them off our bill. I thought we would have plenty of time (I mean 2 hours for dinner is quite a lot for entree and dessert) but we were lucky to get entrees. They came around 7:20.
It's too bad because the food and drinks were really amazing. Also our waiter was very nice but had way too many tables. The hostess seemed super confused and paced around with menus the entire time we were there. Everyone seemed very overworked and very stressed. They kept high-fiving each other and patting each other on the back. I couldn't help but feel sorry for them.
If there wasn't a show that night, maybe it would have been a great experience. But I definitely will never go there again before heading to the Bushnell.
Enjoyed our visit. We went to Bushnell Theater directly afterwards which is a short walk up Capital Avenue.Extremely busy many turnovers which didn't allow our waitress to be very attentive. Desert menu was minimal at best. Oysters were extremely large and good. She had the Sea Bass which was good. I had the Norwegian Salmon.
We mentioned to waitress twice we had tickets to Bushnell, which allows for 20% discount off the bill. She had to re-ring our bill.
Overall a 4 star...
Peppercorn's is some of the best Italian food I've ever had, and I come from an Italian family. Their sauce tasted like my grandmother's! Highly recommend!!!
The hostess, service, food, and valet were fantastic!! What a great night!!
The experience was ok, not excellent. Three of us were underwhelmed by our meals and our server clearly had too many tables. We were on the upper level and the sounds from the bar below were distracting.
Walking near the kitchen in the way to the bathroom, we could hear someone screaming at the help. Not cool.
All in all we had fun, but that was because we were there to have fun. The food was mostly unremarkable.
The food was excellent while the place was mobbed and our server Harris made the experience so enjoyable with his pleasant demeanor and efficient service to get us to theater in time
