We made reservation at 7:30 to enjoy the sunset while we were dining but we did not get seated until 8:00. The entree that we desired was not available. Food was below average. Artichoke appetizer was rubbery and hard could not enjoy. The view of the city and the harbor was the best out of the experience.
We requested and were provided a table at the window with a limited wait. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Food was very good.
food was delicious as always, service was way to slow, it ruined the overall experience for me.
There’s something seriously going wrong with this place I don’t know if it is not enough help or disorganization-many people waiting to get in with the reservations but the restaurant was not full-Took a considerable amount of time to even be acknowledged when we sat down at the table but when we did our server was very good-food was adequate-Probably will never return
We always come to Peophe’s when in Coronado - a few times a year. A family tradition. Food and ambiance are wonderful. Service always seems to be slow though the wait staff is very friendly.
Let me first say, I am in Global Sales and I eat out at fine dining A LOT. Peohe’s is represented fine dining. We did not have a fine dining experience. Server was what I would expect from a Red Lobster…we were rushed, not attended to as we should be, the presentation was just not on par. We also never saw the manager once. We were seated next to a door to the outside that was locked, and they were people constantly knocking at the door and being let in (not the main entrance). We were celebrating a special occasion with out of town guests, and frankly could have gone anywhere…Pacifica Coast Grill, Island Prime, Pacifica 333, Marine Room, etc. and we chose Peohe’s. There were several things I could mention but it just isn’t worth it. Huge Disappointment!!
This I’ll be our LAST time dining at Peohe’s. We have a home on Coronado and have given Peohe’s several chances before and during Covid-19. We are now DONE. Service was horrific and we got sick for the ahi tuna.
For a Tuesday night at 6 PM, I thought the service was rather short-staffed. Our waiter seemed to have too many tables to manage and we weren't looked after soon after the food arrived. In addition, the restaurant was already out of two main dishes that evening and it was rather early. Bathrooms seriously needed tidying up as well. (e.g. No toilet paper in the stall I tried to use and overflowing trash cans)
I would include more dinner items to the lunch menu.
Beautiful setting and fabulous food. Brittany, our wait person, was very attentive and pleasant. Watching the boats on San Diego Bay a highlight.
We got a giftcard here in March 2020 before the entire world shut down and finally got the opportunity to use it. I make a reservation for 2 on open table for 7pm. We arrive at 6:50 and they say "it'll be a few minutes". At 7:10 I check our status and the hostess gives a vague response of "there are a few people ahead of you", I press more and she claims there are 2 parties. Immediately after doing this I get an alert from open table thanking me for checking in. Hmmm basically the hostess never checked us in at 6:50. 4 parties get seated then it's our turn at 7:45. We go to our table and it's the metal table w/ no tablecloth. The hostess seats us and then comes back 5 minutes later with a tablecloth.
The server is awesome and gives us extra heaters since it's now getting cold out. Dinner took 40 minutes to come out but the food was amazing (prime rib) and worth the wait...but only because we had family watching our kids. If we had a babysitter it would of been a different story. We booked our reservation as a special event and somehow that didn't get relayed. Our server came through with yummy dessert for us.
Overall I'll be back but it was definitely a disappointment to have such poor hostess service and a long wait for food for the price tag of the restaurant. Hopefully next time they can figure out how to not be 45 minutes delayed for a reservation and how to click a button to check reservations in.
Asking for items on the side in a salad doesn’t matter to anyone here. Lovely view though. If you’re a vegan, the options are slim pickings! If you do eat meat, just expect a so so meal
The service was excellent and the view amazing. The food was disappointing. My son’s steak was almost ready raw, where are grandson’s steak was over cooked. When we arrived we were informed they were out of halibut and ahi. The server was very gracious and did everything in her power to make our dinner pleasant but I would caution others about the food. Their prices reflect a high end meal; they did not live up to the task
Peohe's is a charter house restaurant and should be of high quality in all areas. we got a Caesar's salad which was of poor quality. lightly breaded calamari was heavy breaded and in huge quantity vs high small quality quantity. I had roast beef which was mostly fatty. our waitress was hardly around, a senior waiter asked us about the food and told him about the beef, he brought a much better roast beef which helped make dinner a lot better. My fiancee had the mixed appetizer with sushi, egg rolls, 2 kinds of shrimp, she left most of it, it was big and again we would have preferred a smaller dish of high quality.
Mixed drinks were not made well. I would not go back to this restaurant. Often I see restaurants with great views relay on the view vs the quality of the restaurant. Peohe's fit this to a tee. I was hoping for a wonderful dinner.
Party of four for Father’s Day
Pu pu platter excellent
Everyone enjoyed their meals
Macadamia nut ice cream desert is the best
Beautiful from start to finish. Food, view outstanding!
We were there for Father’s Day. 3 in our party. It was very busy. It took an hour for us to get our appetizer and and hour an a half for our food. Thats the only reason I can’t give a perfect rating. Otherwise food was delicious, the view is beautiful and overall ambiance in the restaurant is great.
The table we had was right above the ocean shore and the view of the water and the boats was fantastic! The food was also superb!
Great servers, hostesses. Food was wonderful snd was explained well by our server. Beautiful view on the bay. Very upscale yet San Diego casual. We will be going back. That’s for sure. Parking is the only problem so be prepared to walk past beautiful homes in Coronado
Overall good food and great views . Its always hard to find parking on a weekend at this location . Kids food was forgotten by the kitchen . They had to wait until we finish our food to get their food. I order fillet Mignon and the plate presentation was not great at all. The flavors was good.
We had a wonderful lunch at Peohe's for Father's Day.
First time eating there. I'm ready to go back again the next day. Waiter was fun and knowledgeable, atmosphere was wonderful. Food was outstanding!!!
Fresh seafood. Fast service. Great view. Great ambiance.
The food and ambiance was perfect. The waiter was also a ten. A plus we saw a little boy fishing with his father, caught a fish and after a picture was taken, returned it to the ocean!
Our recent visit for Father’s Day was a huge disappointment food-wise. Our Eggs Benedict was bland and the other entrees were average at best. I have ordered the Eggs Benedict before here and it tasted significantly better than bland mess we got. I used to enjoy brunch here because of the quality of the food, as well as the location and ambiance. However, after this visit I would not spend that much again for sub-par food.
got seated right away. nice covered patio area with nice breeze and view. Service was very slow but we were not in a hurry or that hungry. Could be due to the recent opening of the state and not enough staff yet. Server was attentive. Pupu appetizer was great and flavorful. Prime rib and halibut were excellent. Salmon was good but the rice and veggies were disappointing with too much dressing/sauce. Overall great experience. would return again.
We didn’t see our server enough so we went without drinks for a bit. The coconut ginger rice was not that at all. I’ve had it previously and it was delicious, maybe the recipe changed?! The view and ambiance was great. The food was ok. Service could have been a little better.
Waited 5-10 minutes at table before an overwhelmed wait staff arrived. She did not make an effort to introduce the menu or give any personalized service - she just seemed to be rushing from one table to the next. Food was meh with bland steamed vegetables, dry rice, and unmemorable fish (though the fish was tender). Rather than a high-end meal this felt more like a so-so dinner at a conference or a cheap cruise (staff more interested in delivering food than offering a dining experience). I sympathized with the staff as they seemed overburdened and perhaps did not have enough help. The location offers lovely views of the water and downtown San Diego but that cannot overcome a generally mediocre dinner. After eating here in prior years I would agree with other reviewers that Peohe's has gone downhill.
I came in to Peohes as a walk-in at 2:10pm. I was told there was no seating and the bar was full. I walked outside and got on OpenTable and found seating for 2:30 pm. When I went back in to check in, the hostess told me that Im not supposed to book on OpenTable if they already told me they were full. Sorry, ma'am, if you didn't want to seat me, just say that, but you cannot prevent anyone from booking an available seat through your booking platform.
We had a marvelous time celebrating a birthday, retirement and Father’s Day all in one.
Thank you so much for the excellent service, and the delicious food.
Our visit to Peohe's was spectacular. The food was delicious and the service was great. They made it a special moment in time for our anniversary and we couldn't have envisioned a more perfect evening with a spectacular view.
As usual, the standard of the wait staff was beyond compare. What a total pleasure!
Friends were visiting from Chicago and we wanted to show off our beautiful San Diego. What better way than seeing it from Coronado and Peohe's Waterfront Restaurant was perfect.
good food and good service. Waiter was especially helpful.
The food and at was spit on as always!
Our server Antonio was very pleasant and
so very helpful with recommendations!!
Peohe’s is one of San Diego’s best known and loved restaurants. The food is outstanding, the service is excellent and the view can’t be beat!
Wonderful views and food was great. Waiter was very knowledgeable on wines and made suggestions on menu . We sat in the patio with a spectacular view of the bay.
Overall we had a wonderful experience and great food. Service was a little slow at times.
Location is stellar, service very slow [understaffed], fish tacos bland
