Excellent service from Cara and meal was likewise well prepared and tasty. Another shout out to the MOD, Mark, who ensured all went well on my birthday dinner.
Overall great experience, food, service, ambience, high quality options.
I celebrated my partner’s birthday. The server went above and beyond to make us feel special. We were served a mud pie on the house.
Dinner and the view on the covered patio was wonderful. We had the sesame salmon and lobster tail cooked to perfection. Our waitress, Rachel was attentive. A very nice date evening.
great view very good food, service just ok but we understand its more than likely because restaurants can't find enough workers.
It was very nice. The only feedback I have is the menu says skinny fries. Last time I ate there it was true. This time the fries were different and not what we considered skinny.
Had a reservation for 7:15pm, didn't get a table until 8pm. The server was outstanding though! Good food.
Reservations or NOT, you WILL wait! We made a 6:30 RES. For our 22nd anniversary (2 of us) Arrived 10 minutes early 6:20pm and was told it would be a “a few minutes b4 our table was ready”. Was asked if we may wait in the bar and was obliged. 50 minutes later I went back front and pressed on our now late reservations and was told they were setting our table. I asked why there were at least 20 empty tables and I had witnessed 9 parties get seated while at the bar. An apology with the claim of short staffing was given at that time. We were finally seated at 7:20pm on a 6:30 res. Met our server at 7:30pm (now I am sadly put off ). Our server was friendly and great, the wine, menu items were prompt and delicious as we had enjoyed in past. Curious, No management approach to our table to inquire on our wait or our service. Sorry Peohe’s, you have missed one of the finer points on fine dining leadership success.
Until Peohes corrects the staffing model to meet their projected bookings, they will continue to fracture their once unquestionable reputation as a Coronado gem marked for location, service and cuisine. Unless you do not mind waiting with 3 week out reservations, you WILL wait! Remember, San Diego offers a great deal of competitive fine dining where your reservation holds as much value as you do as a customer.
Just a beautiful experience. Food always quality and delicious. Our server was top notch, made the dinner even more enjoyable. Nice b'day surprise desert.
It's such a shame that so many tables empty due lack of people applying for jobs here. Never hesitate to visit this restaurant.
Perfect outdoor seating
Food was great, sat on patio by water, nice breeze. Service was relaxed we were not rushed. A great anniversary by the water.
I was extremely disappointed. We show up with a reservation and they offer us a table in the corner next to the storage area. We refused that table and the hostess seemed to have a poor attitude about it. We finally get a table outdoors as requested. We sat for a while even before we got waters silverware etc. Our server was basically on the run the entire time. we had to hunt him down for our drink and food order. We got appetizers and he didn’t even clear the table even when our meal came out. So we had stacks of plates. I ordered the lobster roll and my husband a salmon salad. my lobster roll was not
Toasted so I sent it back. My husband got a beer and the server said he’d be back with a glass but never came back. We ordered a kids ice cream scoop when our meals came for my daughter and he didn’t bring it out until we were already cashed out and preparing to leave. I was hoping they would offer us the dessert menu since it was my husbands bday but he never did and we were just tired of hunting him down for something else. I had higher expectations but brunch is definitely a disappointment.
Excellent food, Service slow due to the amount of people. Reservations are a must if you want to get a table. I would recommend to anyone.
Service was terrible. Took 45 minutes for our drink orders and 2 hours for our entrees. Not worth the price whatsoever
The venue and location is perfect. However…..
We had 6:45pm reservations and sat for 30 minutes before I asked for someone to take our order. Our food arrived at 8pm. After eating, we waited for the check until 845, only to find the Landry number was entered in the wrong account. More wait.
The food was meh. Not worth a $170 bill for two adults and 2 children (no alcohol was purchased). The wait staff was pleasant, kind and slow. I live here, and won’t bring visitors back. I’ll hit up the gyro stand next door.
Overall, my company was awesome & was the highlight of the experience, but I won’t be back and don’t recommend.
There were 14 of us celebrating a birthday dinner. We had a 445 reservation and unfortunately we’re not seated until about 510. The host has told us we were not able to get drinks by the bar until we were seated. Never had that experience there before. That put a little damper on things but everyone was still enjoying the company and the beautiful day. The server and hostess who seated us were very sweet and professional and apologized for the long wait explaining the understaffing situation. I understand that which is why I Still gave five stars. The main hostess at the booth was not so awesome but everyone else was great. The food was actually the best it has been in the past couple of years. The hula pie was about 1/4 of the size that used to be. Everyone at the table was very disappointed with that. They gave a little bit larger slice to the birthday celebrant. But that was still probably less than half the size that your serving used to be. I have been enjoying Peohes regularly for over 30 years. I have to say after they went corporate it did take some getting used to the corporate vibe. We had enjoyed our professional servers quality performance for years. Having people just read things off of script was a little disturbing at first. But last night service was great the food quality was great and I would recommend Peohes without hesitation once again.
Delicious food, perfect ambiance and our server Thomas was above and beyond amazing. His recommendations were right on point and he was very knowledgeable regarding the menu
Ben was excellent. We had a great lunch experience! Thank you. 😊
Food was blah...bagged lettuce, 4 small slices of thin cut tuna, the cobb was the same very little toppings, and packaged lettuce.
Too bad such a nice setting and food that really is not good!
Birthday. Our server was wonderful.
Really enjoy your classic San Diego waterfront dining experience.
Really loud table for “grandpa’s birthday” where 7 loud , Ill-behaved children disrupted the best part of the evening. Right at romantic sunset time, right in front of window with sunset views, with several dressed up couples sitting around to enjoy date night sunset (7:30-8:30 Friday night). Management did nothing and said nothing—I must be from another planet, class level, or generation. I’m really not the snooty type normally, and I totally love children. So, it would take a lot to get me to write this. They should have been moved to a party room or back corner at a minimum . Could have been asked to keep it down a little even once would have helped. To quote a great writer….”Keep it classy, San Diego!”
This ruined our special anniversary dinner (but not the marriage , ha ha) until they finally left. I’m so not triggered by these things , but this was way way out there, like a crazy chuck-e-cheese-loud, Willy wonka bad kid syndrome experience.
Oh, food was great, and each course came right in time at perfect temp. Not too too expensive and has potential to be a great go to place for date nights now and again.
Its a great location! I love sitting outside with a view of the water, watching the boats, and seeing the downtown skyline! It's very relaxing and laid back. Indoors offers a view as well and is very nice for those special occasions. The service is always great! The quality of the food can vary. I've had excellent dishes, but at times have had items not as hot of the plate as they should be, and often way too salty! When you have quality ingredients such as fresh seafood, you do not need to add salt to the seasonings, otherwise it masks the freshness and gives a more processed flavor. Overall, I would recommend Peohe's. If you want a view of the water, a fine dining experience that can also be casual, quality food at a reasonable price, and great service, then this is the best place on "the lsland".
Service was a little slow, but maybe that’s because of COVID and not having enough staff.
I was given a dirty not well cleaned red wine glass. Waitress wasn’t apologetic.
Food quality was less than spectacular. Prime rib was bland. Signature dish was unimpressive. Beautiful location and terrific service.
Great table overlooking the city. Drinks and appetizers were spot on. Main entrée, filet mignon, not as large as advertised. Waiter was sub-par, speed talker, little to no eye contact not attentive as he should have been. Still, overall a nice dinner.
Service was lacking due to our server was slammed and needed help .
Bread came out late .
Waters were not filled .
Food came out late .
It's been a while since we have been to Peohe's, and they didn't disappoint. The food and service is top notch and you can't beat the view of San Diego from across the bay. Always a nice time when we do get a chance to go there.
A few friends out for dinner
The view was amazing the service was great. The food was disappointing and expensive
Food, service, and location, location, location! In San Diego, a must to eat here!
Wonderful food, incredible service. View is amazing. Accommodated our party of 11 no problem. 10/10
Always enjoy this restaurant. View is lovely. Food great. Service terrific.
Only slight complaint is that the music was too loud on inside deck.
Of course, considering the location, ambience was great. Food was good, but considering the price unremarkable. Service was pretty poor.
We absolutely love dining at Peohe’s. The setting is so nice and the evening view is spectacular! The servers are very friendly and the food is usually wonderful. Last night’s dinner left a little to be desired. The calamari was fabulous, but the lobster bisque was just awful and my husbands sea bass was dry. My daughter and I had the spicy ahi and it was perfect. We know that Peohi’s is a great upscale restaurant and we have eaten there many times, as we are local residents in Bonita. However, our expectations were not what we expected. It was my birthday dinner and we were a little disappointed.
Mike and JoAnn Brown
The ambiance of the place cannot be beat in SD. The service was outstanding.
This restaurant has an amazing view of the san diego waterfront from the Coronado Point of view. The ambience was really nice and the food was good. Not the restaurants fault at all, but I wish it wasn’t cloudy that evening we were there. The woman serving us was extremely nice and friendly, and brought out a delicious dessert for my girlfriends birthday. I’d definitely come back to this restaurant.
Amazing birthday dinner with friends! The views were amazing, the food and drinks were delicious. The service was…ok. Not terrible, but just mediocre. Never the less, we all enjoyed it and will be back.
Love Peohe's 😊. definitely highly recommend this place.
