Shane was excellent waiter. Food was good not great. Cheese enchiladas were a little dry. Guacamole was very good. Tres leches cake was absolutely outstanding. Would definitely go back.

Just ok, nothing special. Went based on reviews and the fact that we could get a reservation! Most places in Austin are packed for Sunday brunch..we were the only ones there. Sat outside because it is very dark and sort of dismal inside. Patio was nice ish, but hot! Not their fault on heat of course. Waitress was nice, but we wouldn’t go back. There is much better Tex mex and atmosphere to be had in Austin.

We stopped to have lunch at Pelons on a Saturday and were running late and I called to let them know and they moved my reservation by 15 minutes to accommodate us. Everyone there was very friendly. When you walk in it's a little dark but we were able to sit in the more lighted area. We ordered a variety of items on the menu and they were all good. The chicken fajitas was very good. Chicken was very tender. The queso was exceptional.

I usually don't get too fired up over Tex-Mex, so I did not have very high expectations when I reserved a table at Pelons. How I love to be proved wrong! Every dish from the Guacamole appetizer, to the spicy shrimp tacos, to the Churros for desert; all were excellent and not the standard Tex-Mex fare. Pelons demands several more return visits.
