Normal menu ditched for ‘special’ Father’s Day menu...no good.
Food was amazing!!! Service was great and a overall perfect atmosphere! Great experience will definitely be back.
Great brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Service is always great. Outdoor seating is available for those comfortable days. This place gets busy for dinner, make a reservation. Valet parking is available.
Great service. Very tasty food. Wonderful ambiance. Only negative, cocktails were decent but very weak.
Amazing as always! Great Customer Service and food was Delicious!
A very nice evening out as usual. We enjoyed the food!
Good experience with friends. Love the unique flavors Peli Peli has to offer.
The food tasted exactly as it should and Rick was patient, helpful, and friendly to my indecisive family!
The food and service here was amazing. We enjoyed everything we ordered from the South African Sampler to the Durban Butter Chicken and the Greak Karoo Lamb Chop to the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Each bite was full of flavor. The menu was a bit pricey however with the quality of the food I can see why. We will definitely be back. =
We eat at Peli Peli VERY often!! All of the food is always amazing! Chef Paul has created so many amazing recipes! I believe we have ordered each item on the menu and can honestly say we have never been disappointed. We are generally too full from our meal that we order dessert to go - cuz the desserts are incredible!!! Some of our favorite dishes are: crab cakes and stuffed mushrooms, the ginger carrot soup and Peli salad, Espetada and Cape Town skillet. The carrots braids and Brussel sprouts are amazing! And the sticky toffee pudding is a must! The servers are always wonderful. The decor is incredible. Peli Peli is an amazing experience with the most incredible dishes!
We had stuffed mushrooms and drinks on the patio while listening to the band playing outside by the fountain. It was so pleasant that we continued having dinner on the patio. Great night!
Peli Peli is THE restaurant in NW Houston. Thank you for another wonderful eventing.
Food was great!! Service was great!! It was very loud and hot. Not what I was expecting for an anniversary dinner.
Ridiculously overpriced for all the South African dishes. Curried chicken should be given a miss. The beef and veg boboties were tasteless. I did like the carrot soup.
Good food good service good company. All around good dining.
I had gotten a new phone and couldn't figure out how to access my member benefits. Our super waitress Macy tried to figure it out, and it went up two more levels of managers who went above and beyond to get us taken care of. Love this place!!!
Our waiter, Joshua, was very attentive to our surrounding neighbors way more than us. Took him about 15 minutes after we sat down to even ask us if we were ready but we were waiting on ordering appetizers first. He even told the other tables the specials but we never heard them. Also our table lamp was broken so it was a little dark.
But other than that the food was beyond excellent. Very pricey but I feel worth it for a special event splurge.
Great brunch menu and drink deals.
We love the food, managers, and waitstaff. We are always greeted with such a warm welcome. The food is always amazing. Give it a try. You will love it there.
Excellent service and food! Great ambiance. Noise level is perfect, not too loud but not so quiet so you feel bad talking to your table mates or kids. Calvin the waiter was awesome too. He was helpful and accommodating with substitutions requested. Food was a amazing. Enjoyed the lighting too.
The food was absolutely fantastic. Mai Tai was great. Service was great. Ambiance was so great! The only complaint is that we were seated in a booth right by the kitchen door which disturbed the mood and contributed to some of the noise. We will definitely be return customers.
Great service, cocktails & food. Had a great Anniversary lunch date
I was sad to see the place is looking shabby inside. Not at all what we used to see at this location. The booth seats were badly peeling and in need of repair, there were many noticeable spots on walls, just overall poorly kept. They seem to be more focused on opening more locations than maintaining the ones they've got. Expect more for the what it costs to eat there.
This restaurant was recommended for a birthday outing and I mis say, I was not disappointed. The food was tasty and flavorful even the Peli Peli salad was refreshing. The waitress was cordial and the ambience was great for the moment.
My husband and I loved our date night with the pleasant and helpful staff at Peli Peli. Our server, Pete was very patient with us as it was our first time. He explained the dynamic meat dishes and flavors we could expect, which we ultimately selected the off-menu dish. 6 filet minon, each with their own signature sauce, and couscous with brussel sprouts for sides. The steaks were cooked perfectly; my husband liked the blue cheese sauce, the Peli Peli and garlic sauces, and my favorites were the mushroom and the marinara. We had heard amazing things about the brussel sprouts and they lived up to the hype - they were deliciously caramelized. The couscous was a light and fresh addition. Can’t forget the ambiance - Pete explained the symbolism of the decor, and let us in on a little known secret that’s buried in the foundation. Phenomenal experience - we will be back again.
The food was excellent and the service was great. We love this place.
We love the food here. Nowhere else offers a menu with these unique choices. Because we were there at lunch and there was a large table of folks celebrating something, the noise level was very much higher than normal. Don’t let that keep you away!
Amazing food and service. Will definitely go back
As usual the food was outstanding, with the perfect amount of spices. I especially loved the Bobotie!!
Bobotie- A family friend recommended this and it was the best part of our experience, the mango chutney was to die for.
Espetada- The meat was cooked at a perfect Medium Rare and came with a garlic butter on top that would melt and run down the spear of meat. I wish the server would have offered a sauce to pair with the meat as the garlic butter added an underwhelming amount of flavor and ended up being just a visual novelty. As for the sides, the Sauteed Baby Spinach and Roasted Potatoes were delicious but the Carrot Bredie was a below standard choice when compared to the other sides and I felt like I was just eating mashed carrots.
Curried Chicken- My fiancee was recommended by our server to get this. It is shredded chicken on rice surrounded by diced tomatoes, raw onions, toasted coconut, and mango chutney. The presentation of this dish is probably very traditional, but it's a restaurants job to elevate traditional dishes to a modern environment and this dish is not something I would ever expect to be served at a 5 star restaurant.
Dessert Trio- The Chocolate Mousse was soft and was our favorite. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was amazing as the toffee really set it apart from other restaurants' "molten brownie ice cream". The only thing we did not even attempt to finish was the Melktart. The filling had little to no flavor when compared to the over abundant whipped cream atop it, and the crust was so dry and thick we found ourselves looking for a server to refill our glasses.
The only think that truly irritated me was the bathroom sink. The sink is a giant bowl beneath a spout and they are so close together I cannot fit even one hand in water even when applying force. I found myself scooping water with three fingers onto the rest of my hands. When I came back to the table to tell my fiancee she exclaimed that she was just as annoyed about it as I was and couldn't believe that something to obvious was left unfixed in such a nice restaurant.
As always, the food was delicious and the service was great!
Absolute best staff and the food is phenominal!
The atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable as well.
We were seated in the covered exterior under the air conditioning vent so it was cooler that we would prefer. The table had no silverware or napkins and we had to ask for them after the waiter delivered our food. The food was excellent.
Bobouti and chicken curry!
Night and day compared to my last visit! The food and drinks were so, so delicious.
Wonderful food and a great mother's day experience
When you pay $40+ dollars for a NY strip it shouldn't be tough and full of gristle like mine was. Very disappointed!
Too much noise for better evaluation. You can not converse with your table mates!
Excellent food and service.
