Friendly staff. good menu options, great food and excellent service.
Found a rubberband in my greek salad! Green beans and chicken kabob undercooked, fish n chips n fries: small portion and last of the fries in fryer, not worth $18. We went for sea bass and lamb chops- waiter said only offered on dinner menu. We over heard another waiter telling customer people can order food from dinner menu anytime of day. We were very disappointed in quality, service, and price. Most likely wont be back.
We loved to have lunch at PeliPeli! Everything was good! We plan to come back soon!
Peli Peli in Katy never disappoints. The food is great and is only topped by the Service. The manager Steve is friendly and accessible and he makes it his business to ensure you have an enjoyable experience. We enjoy good food and wine and we must say that our server, Jason G is one of the best we have ever had in many years of dining out. He has taken care of us on several occasions and he always offers great recommendations on both the food and wine selections. He is a fantastic ambassador for Peli Peli.
What a wonderful place to have dinner and we were treated so well especially for our anniversary. They made it extra special. Food and service was phenomenal. Love it there.
Food is awesome. Wait service and front desk service very friendly. We enjoyed our evening. House red wine was outstanding.
Overall the evening was good. The food was not as good as past dining at Peli Peli in the Galleria. We were disappointed that the prawns were not not cleaned with just the tails left on and the taste was not as good as we remembered. Our service was very good. I’m sure we will return as we enjoy the menu but hopefully with improved food quality considering the price.
Food is great. Really different and some interesting flavors and experiences. Tables are weird and the whole place feels run down. Front of house is not welcoming and left us waiting. Rest rooms are banged up and the corridor to reach them doubles as storage. Just doesn’t feel like a high end restaurant. Also no non-alcoholic beer which is a travesty in 2020. How difficult is it to just have one available? I’d go back for the food but not the experience. A real shame.
Everything was perfect! We will definitely be going back to this place. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants a delicious night out!
We have visited the Peli Peli in The Vintage numerous times and so we chose this one on our anniversary because it was closer to home. Normally Peli Peli is very good. However, they were off their game this night. We ordered a glass of wine and had to send it back because it was stale. The calamari was the best part. It was crispy and very good. The steak and Kingklip were both over cooked and under seasoned. Overall it was just a pretty meh experience and after we didn't really touch our food, nothing was said or done about it. I'll try it again because of all the good experiences, but it'll probably be back at The Vintage.
I am not a big fan of the Katy location at all, the Galleria location is SO MUCH better! The atmosphere, and even the waiters there. I will not be back at Peli Peli’s Katy location.
Excellent food and service. Very flavorful and creative. Will definitely be back.
Peri Peri in La Centerra was the location I had dinner. Food was above average, service was good and the ambiance was nice. It was Sunday night so not so crowded. Having traveled in South Africa extensively I was hoping for some “spice” I my meal but it was not to be. I even asked the waiter to make sure the scampi were spicy. Very nice place, I’ll definitely return.
The food is great, the manager is excellent, excellent customer service
I have traditionally been a huge fan of Peli peli and visited the Katy location a dozen times. Tonight, simply put, was horrible. We had a reservation and were seated right away so things started off very positive. We had a male waiter bring us drinks and take our appetizer and main course order (party of 3) so simple enough. That’s when the night turned terribly wrong. We never saw that waiter again, waited 45 minutes for the appetizer to arrive, then another 30 minutes for the food to arrive and not once did anyone offer to refill our drinks. Luckily, we were near the water stand, so I filled my kids cups with water. They brought my soup out without a spoon, which took another 10 minutes to get, them I had to ask twice for the check and a to-go container. The bartender finally handed me the bill and a to-go container. Needless to say, it was not the experience I had expected and bragged about to my kids prior to our arrival. Our bill for three was just under $75, so not exactly cheap for a basic dinner. I did something I usually do not do and I left $1.00 tip. I couldn’t tell you who our waiter was, so honestly, I didn’t feel like the random servers who stepped in for our missing waiter did enough of a job to deserve a tip. I know it is 1/2/2020 and the staff might have been on the 3rd round draft picks, but geez!!! At least offer to refill drinks if a mom and two kids spend $75 on a meal. The Brussel sprouts were amazing as usual. That’s what I have to say that is positive. The pumpkin soup was excellent too despite being cold by the time I got a spoon to eat it with.
Perfect menu and perfect atmosphere!!! I had beef tostadas , which was perfectly medium- rare cooked. Will recommend to my friends.
The food and service was exceptional!!
Christmas Eve dinner. Short staffed so service was slow .. but that not really the issue... issue was the Espetata was very fatty .. waited forever for the Wellington which was too rare for me. Not our best visit. Disappointed for the price. Not sure we would return.
38th wedding anniversary, staff made us feel at home and were extra attentive. The food was exceptional.
I was celebrating my birthday and had a fabulous lunch. While bacon wrapped scallops were no longer on the menu they did accommodate my request! I was thrilled because I love this dish. The waitress was friendly and attentive! The manager was helpful and really made my birthday extra special. The others with me always get Peli Peli lamb chops! They always enjoyed these superb chops!
The food was excellent. Terrific flavor and presentation. There was a group in the "party" room and the server kept leaving the door open. We couldn't hear at our table. Small problem in the big picture. We will return.
Luv this place but was disappointed they have cut their menu down. Not sure if it’s due to the new chef or not. The staff and management are awesome
Food quantity has decreased. What have they done with the recent changes. I know they did. Cost cutting - but looks like it was cutting in quantity, no change in pricing
Staff was very attentive and friendly. Food was excellent. We will be back.
Food and service is always great. Staff is always super friendly and going out of their way to make your experience out of this world. It’s a wonderful visit everytime.
This was my 3rd time at Peli Peli and I was very impressed yet again. Fantastic food, attentive service, and lively atmosphere. If you have never been, I highly recommend ordering the South African Sampler as an appetizer and the Espetada as an entree. The sampler allows you to try the different unique South African specialties (which are all delicious). The Espetada is delectable beef filet with three sides (the brussel sprouts are great). Great value! You will not regret it.
The food was delicious and our waiter was very accommodating and helpful as this was our first time there. at first we found it to be a little too noisy especially as we were seated so close to the bar but it did quieten down a bit later on. We missed happy hour by 1 minute but the waiter did inform us that as it was Tuesday we could do a half price bottle of wine and he brought us several samples to taste before making our decision. We would go back again for special occasions as we thought it was a bit pricey but well worth it!
I sent my food back because of the garlic (garlic doesn’t like me) and our waitress and the GM were very gracious and accommodating. Definitely recommend, just let your server know if you don’t care for garlic.
Went here as an alternative to our normal places for a nice night out. The decor was very nice, and the restaurant was lively. I would have preferred a bit more of an intimate atmosphere, but that is a personal preference. Service was great, and the waitstaff was all very knowledgeable. We ordered the special, which started with the bobotie, followed by beef over fish, shrimp, and scallops, and finished it off with the sticky toffee pudding cake. All of it was fantastic! We had a great time, and will definitely schedule a return visit.
We are never disappointed with Peli Peli- La Centerra. We had family in town who were Peli Peli newbies and they loved it!!! Thank you for once again exceeding our expectations. Cheers! PB Family
Great service starts at the top with David and Steve who lead by example. The food quality is fantastic and the customer service is impeccable! #customorforlife
The ambiance is very relaxed and quiet. Did have a bit of a wait to get a drink (but truth be told, I was a bit late to meet my sister). We had wonderful Happy Hour appetizers and glasses of wine and service the rest of the time was fantastic. Suggestions from the waiter were spot on!
Excellent service. Manager greeted us and was super nice. Food was great. Looking forward to my next visit.
The steak was a little undercooked. Waiter missed taking one of our party's order. Other than the steak being a little undercooked, the rest of the meal was great. Sea Bass was very good.
It was great!
Food was very good, but not great. Service was average, prices were high. The ribeye steak on the menu is $70. Server kept trying to push the wine throughout the whole meal. We had a party of six and they included the gratuity on bill @ 18%. I tip at 20%, but not when they pre-add it to the bill.
Initially my son’s steak was cooked too much (he asked for medium). The waitress quickly took it back, and the manager brought a complimentary bowl of gumbo and a side of rice for my son to eat while he waited for his steak to be replaced. Within about 10 minutes, the new steak came out. They even offered to replace the sides because they “had been sitting too long”. As usual, the service was impeccable, and the wrong was quickly corrected. This is how one should respond when a mistake is made. Thank you for going above and beyond to rectify the situation.
