We had a delightful evening at The Pear and Olive. First of all the food was outstanding. Everything was cooked to perfection and although the menu is limited we found no difficulty in selecting our dishes. Fish and meat were cooked to perfection and the vegetables were freshly prepared. The desserts were delicious too. The staff were courteous and friendly, and the restaurant had a warm buzz to it. The tables are well laid out and can accommodate twos or larger groups. All in all, we had a great evening and will definitely be returning for family celebrations or a nice evening out. What a find!

Found this place in a Google search as was meeting a friend who lives in thetford and this was roughly half way from mine and hers. Was really pleasantly surprised by how lovely it was! The service was great and the food was delicious. Small menu but to a very high standard

We went for the steak frites night on Thursday and what a treat! The food was absolutely delicious, steak cooked to perfection which is not an easy thing to get right!! Wine to accompany which paired beautifully! Wonderful staff. Superb value! What more could you ask for!

A visit to Pear and Olive is always a wonderful experience and each time we become more amazed at the high quality of cooking as well of course the drink options and above all the service which is a great balance between being friendly and smoothly efficient. If this was a London restaurant people would be queuing to visit . It is a local gem that needs more support.

Dinner was excellent and as good as we’ve eaten in the area. Every element of the meal, from nuts to start with right through to coffee at the end were outstanding. The combination of flavours in all the courses was perfect.

Another excellent meal at the Pear and Olive. Josh, the chef, is wonderfully creative and grounded in classic dishes at the same time. The anchovy ceaser salad was a delight and the seasonal local asparagus with the romesco sauce was a perfect combination. The lamb was a beautiful confection, both visually and for the taste buds. Enough touches with flavour and texture but not too many so was really a complete dish. My hake was cooked perfectly!

Just an outstanding experience. Last came to Pear and Olive a few years ago, since then there's been a change of management and a great refurb. The food was magnificent, really excellent quality for the price, and offering something very different to pretty much all other restaurants in a wide radius. The hake was melt in the mouth good and all ingredients clearly fresh and high quality, the desserts were the perfect level of decadence without being cloying, the menu varied and exciting. Ambience lovely too and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be returning!
