Service was incredibly slow and it was very noisy in the restaurant. Food was wonderful though! Pricing is a little expensive.
We enjoyed every course. The apps were perfect and then our entrees arrived and they were even better! Excellent spot for a nice dinner, couple of drinks and apps, overall great spot!
Had the scallops. Server recommended them, because they arrived fresh from the coast earlier in the day. OMG! So tender, just about melted in my mouth. Likely the best I've had.
Have always had good experiences here. The food was delicious but the service was very slow. The waitstaff did apologize but they were way understaffed for lunch. It was graduation day at one of the large Apex high schools and I would have expected them to be ready as one of the few nicer area restaurants that is open for lunch. But, we will be back. Food was excellent as always!
Celebration for graduation. Great food, attentive service, never rushed. Highly recommend!!
I am allergic to soy, dairy and sugar. There was NOTHING on the menu that I could eat and apparently they could not modify or accommodate. We left without eating. This used to be one of our favorite places to eat (Peak City Grill). We will not ever go back.
Service was much worse than our experience two weeks earlier. Drinks took forever, waiter hardly came by. We were there for birthday but left to get grocery store cake dessert rather than stay any longer.
Service was top notch! The hostess was friendly and showed us to our table immediately. Our server was at the table within one minute of us being seated to take drink orders and answer any questions.
Fried Oysters Rockefeller was the appetizer this evening, and they did not disappoint. The spinach was cooked just right, and the oysters were fried to flakey perfection. Our entrees were the ceasar salad paired with seared tuna and fish and chips. Both were phenomenal.
If you have not eaten at The Peak you are missing out!
Used to love this place. Food was awful. Literally the worst shrimp and grits I ever had after the waiter recommended it as the best. Grits were like the paste they used to use in elementary school. They sat us upstairs. Awful ambience. They should close that section off except for large groups or parties. My old fashioned was poor at best- weak and the cherry should be on top of ice cream not in a cocktail. Prices surely reflected high quality food. We got fine dining prices and fast food quality. I would go there and sit at the beautiful bar and have an appetizer but that’s it. Not for dinner. Very disappointing.
Great meal. Had the scallops and filet. Both were excellent. Service solid as well. Coming back.
Our 2nd time here. Service was good and prompt and the food was good and hot. We will come back again.
Great food, great cocktails, great service. Would recommend for a fun date night, meeting old friends, or a family dinner.
It was a busy night, which was good to see. Our food was excellent. Our server did his best, but the service wasn’t as good as it has been past visits. He had a lot of ground to cover. He offered muffins but they were never delivered. Bottle of water for refills arrived after we had finished our meal. A very good experience despite few minor glitches.
This was our first trip to The Peak on Salem. We went with 2 friends. The Fried oysters Rockefeller were very good, lightly fried, very moist inside and flavorful. Two of us had the Ribeye steaks ($45). They were thinner than we expected, but cooked to order and tasty. The meatloaf was very good ($26). Prices are higher than the food quality warrants, in our opinion. We'd go back, but not as often as if prices were about $5 lower on the entrees we tried.
Had been here before and enjoyed it. This time it was horrible. Terrible service, took almost 2 hours to get my meal which was a salad. The couple sitting next to us walked out after havin drinks and appetizers because meal was too long of wait. No real apologies. Will never go back
Everything was perfect!
Appetizer took long time, server attentive (Eric), food good but over-priced and overly presentation focused. Hard for conversation given noise level
Had to wait 1.5 hours to get our food and we weren't greeted for 20 minutes after being seated. Food was decent, but seemed overpriced for what you got.
We were a party of 12 on a Friday night. They were super sccomo
We have been here to eat several times and this time provision of food and drinks was so slow. Waiter was great, but clearly he was not being well served by the bar and kitchen.
We loved the look of the restaurant. We were greeted when we came in and promptly taken to our table. Our waiter Eric was awesome. Our drink and appetizer order came promptly and our dinner was extraordinary. We have nothing but great things to say about The Peak on Salem. It was a little on the expensive side as we dined with our family of four however, it was worth every penny and we will definitely be going back sometime soon.
They were short handed but we didn't mind because we were sitting on the patio on a lovely day. Delicious sandwiches and great draft beer.
Terrible experience, it’s the only place in downtown Apex that has ALWAYS availability and now I know why. Terrible service, no matter how many times they close and reopen, the management is no good. Super slow, waiting for 35 minutes to be served even it was no rush hour. We complain and instead of an apology we received a speech on the owner of how he has being doing “this” for 25 years and he had to “check the camera” because he couldn’t believe we have been waiting this long. Just to come back after “checking the cameras” to tell us 35 minutes it’s not really that long. Trust me, if the food was good I’ll give it another chance. It just isn’t.
We have really enjoyed The Peak on Salem since it's re-opening. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is excellent, and our waitress (Dawn) was very efficient, friendly, professional, and had a great personality. It will remain our place to go, especially on our special occasions.
Awesome all the way around!!!
Made reservations for our anniversary, Arrived, and staff appeared unaware of our seating requests, seemed to prefer that we eat outside on the porch with most of the patrons. advised by server that they only offered a stripped-down menu on Mondays: fried chicken, meatloaf, filet mignon, shrimp & grits, and two sandwich items. No side substitutions without upcharge, portions reduced.
Not the Peak we remember.
Had a great meal. Staff was very accommodating with a party size increase. Meal was great. Service was a little slow but it was 8 on a Friday night and I am sure they are short staffed like everyone else. Overall A-
We were anxious to try Peak since the closing of the Peak City Grill under such sad circumstances. The food was fantastic. Best grits I have had, and the new chef's spin on the formerly famous shrimp hushpuppies was even better than the original. Our waiter would have been right at home in a Michelin starred restaurant. So professional and attentive! We will be back. I am delighted to see new life in this place, and to see it thrive!
Service was very slow. It took 2 1/2 hours for a group of 4 to eat dinner. Food was good, not great, and not worth the price.
Great place and fantastic service. Foods was prompt, hot and tasty!
A mixed bag. Good service, good atmosphere, some good food, some glaring fails. The biggest letdown was an over cooked pork chop. Inexcusable at this price point. No, I didn’t send it back. Should have. But it was Friday night and I didn’t have the energy. Told waiter after, who said they appreciated the feedback.
The biggest problem overall - the price point is just too high for the location. Provincial down the street does (I think) better food, in a more relaxed fashion, for a tad less.
Good food, great service, wonderful time. Shop on Salem and end up here to dine. Makes for a wonderful evening.
Excellent service and food/wine. It was nice to sit outside on the covered patio.
Delicious food, attentive service and a delicious menu! We’ll be back!
Everything was absolutely excellent but the salad came out late.
Delicious food in perfect portion sizes. Great drink selection. Our service was slow, but they seemed short-staffed when we were there. Everyone on staff was very polite and friendly. We relaxed, let the night happen, and had a great time.
Portion size was small. Steak was fatty eggs were cold. Shrimp and grits only had 3 shrimp in them for 16.50.
Everything from appetizers to the drinks to our meal and then dessert was amazing! We can’t wait to go back soon!!
The server was slow, brought black straws - no covers in a handful in give to us
Great portions and superb service! Our Server was knowledgeable and accommodating. It was a great experience.
Food was outstanding!!
