It was a limited menu because of the snow storm. I ordered a steak I asked for rare, which the waiter seemed hesitant to put down so I said if he puts down "medium rare" I want it closer to red or dark pink. Steak was cooked through, when the waiter saw ge said he was "taking it back." So that was nice; he knew it was overcooked. But we were the only table and I was very particular when ordering. Also the blackening spices apparently does not include salt. Not used to under seasoned steaks in Texas. My guests were happy, but I have experienced way better. No manager checked on us like they normally do. The server was professional and quick but couldn't make up for the flavorless, pricey steak, I'm afraid. Will go somewhere else next time there is a limited menu.
Zach was pretty awesome and made the experience better due to the circumstances of the reduced menu .

Very limited menu...disappointed. Filet was cooked to order. Roasted cauliflower was excellent. Look forward a full menu next visit.

Always happy at this restaurant. The staff are the best, so charming and professional. We decided to eat out following the horrible week of winter storms. We wanted a break from our home and the challenges that had come up, but we also craved normality and felt we must (safely) support our local restaurants, so decided we would enjoy returning to Paul Martin's. We will be back there again soon!

My fiance and I were celebrating our anniversary. Chef Juan was amazing, professional and cool. We order soup and soup was cold, but chef Juan came to our table and explained the situation. He and the manager changed our mushrooms soups for sawshot one. It was really good must try, quiet and welcoming. If you sit by the windows you can have a better view. I order the salmon and my fiance Ribeye. Salad and sides not their best. Dessert was great, butter cake.

The food was amazing as always! We had the southern fried chicken, cedar plank salmon on a bed of Brussel sprouts, and the ribeye. The Paloma drinks and raspberry mules were great. As well as the 7 layer chocolate cake and the calamari. I was definitely disappointed with the service our waiter provided. He was very short with us and when we asked for a desert menu, he said “I already told you our desert options, you don’t need the menu” and I was like whoaaa. Didn’t complain to anyone. But next time I’ll make sure to avoid that guy! I love the ambiance at this place, and again the food is always so delicious.
The food was very good, and the wait staff was attentive and well mannered. The only weird part was that we made a reservation to enjoy their happy hour that they advertise daily outside and then when we got there the hostess just bluntly said to us 'oh, we're not doing that today.' That was it. It is a great restaurant though. Highly recommend it.

We were seated at probably the worst table in the restaurant-right in front of kitchen entrance and kitchen hand-off plane. I continued to hear “behind you” by wait staff walking behind my chair. Our waiter was great and food was delicious, but the table location really put a damper on our special occasion.

COVID protection was only plexy-glass between seating areas. The quality of the food did not reflect the prices they charge. My wife had a filet $44 and she tells me mine that I make are better. I had the "Brick" chicken...the chicken was cooked perfectly, but the sauce on top had allot of fat. You could see it separated from the sauce. The best thing we had was desert. We will rather try somewhere else if we are going to drop $150 on a meal for two.
Sat outside. Able to have our dog with us. Was a great night after not having gone out for diner in a very long time. Service and food was great!!
I wanted to like it more than I did. The menu is rather unimpressive. There really wasn't anything that popped out at me like - WOW that sounds unique or like something I've really gotta try. My husband and I felt the same way.

The food and service was excellent. The tables were a little closer together than we would have liked.
Took my whole family (9 people) for my mom‘s birthday, both my parents ordered a special (halibut) and said it was way overcooked, “terrible.” My wife and kids ordered steak and it was way under cooked based on their orders. While we were in the restaurant panhandler aggressively tried to sell us covid masks and wouldn’t leave us alone until my third request. She then moved on to other tables.
We have eaten here before and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it, likely a very off night for the chef, but likely won’t be going back soon. The wait staff was great, and the environment there is good.

This was my fourth time to dine at Paul Martins. I have never eaten dinner
just lunch (every time was great). I was staying the night to celebrate my
birthday with my daughter - It was like always a great experience from the
moment we walked in. I come from Waco - not many places to get good food.
The Bar drinks were very well made. The dinner was great. Our waiter (Soliman) was
amazing - made the experience even nicer. Very professional and talented.

Our server Mark M did an amazing job and always checked on how we were doing. The food is always very good and great atmosphere. My only complaint is that it seems we always get sited by the kitchen and close to the swinging doors to back of the restaurant. When I asked about sitting by the windows, I was told those were reserved. I found that strange because we had reservations but the reservations don't ask by the window. It asks for high top, standard sitting or outside. Those were standard sitting like the one we had. Then it was about 15 minutes before a group of young girls were sited at one of the tables and another 15 minutes before a couple was sited at the other table. I would suggest that if someone asks for a different table to accommodate and not come up with those are reserved.

The bartender, Brie, is one of the best in Austin. Knowledge is superior, perfectly mixed drink, could teach bartenders how it’s done. Nice upgrade, Paul Martin’s!

We arrived early for our reservation to have a cocktail; however, the bar was packed. I asked the hostess about an empty table in the lounge area, and she stated we couldn't sit due to social distance rules. I asked why the bar area was allowed then to be completely full - elbow to elbow. Chris, a manager, stated he understood, and seated us outside. We had a good conversation with him. The food was ok, not great; the fried chicken was very greasy and salty. It's a nice place, and Chris was very attentive to our concerns regarding the packed bar.

Fabulous atmosphere. Lovely large round table dining for our family of 6. It was our daughters 18th birthday and the wait staff was wonderful, the food was all prepared well and the lighting was perfect for a relaxing supper. We will definitely return and suggest to others.
Our waitress was visibly embarrassed that the kitchen would not split our 50 dollar filet on to two plates for our anniversary. The chef said if he did it for us he'd have to do it for everyone else. Place is still great... we just miss the old little touches. Scold stark white plate for a beautiful grilled piece of meat! Bring back your special touches!
Initially the location of the table was extremely hot. Right under the vent and temp was cold outside. They immediately adjusted the temperature. Wonderful service, delicious food (salmon, cheese burger, short ribs). Repeat customers.

There was no social distancing. The website was deceptive. People were jammed in the restaurant. I reserved a table and I was less than 3 feet from the bar customers, the whole time. The bar was shoulder to shoulder. The website needs to not claim to follow CDC social distancing standards. Very disappointed in the difference between the website claims and what actually was going on. I recommend the website be altered to truthfully statements. No tables were socially distanced. My booth seat backed up to the person immediately behind me. There was nothing separating the bar from my table except a wall the height of my booth seat. I could reach out an touch people behind me and next to me in the bar without having to move.

This is one of our favorite restaurants to frequent. The service is always impeccable. The food is delicious. We enjoy eating on the patio when its warmer also. Happy hour is a big hit.
