Extremely overpriced and marginal service. To be fair, we did not try an entree and ordered their entree salads. Salmon was decent, but the grilled chicken was as tasteless and bland as you could imagine. If it wasn’t for the Open Table extra points, I would be more upset with the value and experience. Jack Allen’s is a far better salad for way less money.
Great service and good! Will be going back soon! The staff was awesome and so was the food. Glad we made reservations here.
One of the best dining experiences I have ever had! Cocktails were on point, service was present, hospitable, and well executed. Then there is the food, perfectly cooked, seasoned perfectly and delicious.
I love Paul Martin's, and go there often. This time around the service was very slow! It took an hour before we got our food. I've never waited that long for food, however I do realize it was a large party.
The best I can say is that it was just fine. Everything was fine. Nothing was amazing or out of this world but everything was just ok. I think it’s a tad overpriced for what you get. I understand this is a scratch kitchen and everything is sustainable and that’s why it’s so expensive but you don’t really get much on the plate. The ambiance was nice but sort of strange. It looks like a very fancy restaurant but the music choice in the dining room didn’t reflect that. It just didn’t seem like a place where I should be spending $35 for salmon. Our server was very nice and attentive. All of our meat on the table was cooked way under so I would order medium to well next time. We all like it pink for sure but even the salmon was still raw in the middle. I guess we just expected more for the price point. I don’t think we would ever go back but it was fine once.
6 friends out on the town to celebrate a birthday!
It's a bit pricey but the food is spot on. The server recommended the butter cake, it is a MUST HAVE!
Service was outstanding! Met a vendor for dinner and identified an exceptional wine list at Paul Martin's.
We started of with a few shareable "starters" suggested by the waitress. The entry were OK, my vendor had the fried chicken and I the sea bass (sea bass smelled fishy, if can get over the fishy that flavor was excellent as it was served atop warm coleslaw); closed out with american latte and shareable desert. The staff was attentive and asked about our meal. I was honest and would not accept the offer as I finished my meal......I recommend Paul Martin's and am looking forward to returning for another experience.
We had great tasting food & drinks. Our server was attentive, listened to our suggestions & questions, and guided us through the menu choices.
We enjoyed that seating for two was roomy and comfortable. We prefer the Monday fix menu, but food was excellent.
New Year’s Eve. Disappointed they didn’t put the ball drop on the TV. No one was interested in ESPN
New Year’s Eve
First and last time we’ll dine here. We had a 7 pm reservation for four on New Year’s Eve and they were out of a number of items on the menu we wanted to try. Service was okay but they could have done more to accommodate our requests.
This is the second time I am doing this survey. I received an email from Jim Pickett indicating apparently there was a problem but that is not what my survey responses indicated. I am confused. Thank you. The food and the server, Jeffrey R were all wonderful. We had a marvelous time.
We waited for 1 1/2 hours for food. Went last year on Xmas eve and it was great. This year it seemed kitchen was confused and possibly understaffed. Disappointing.
The food was good but not great. We waited 15 mins before anyone took a drink order. I asked the hostess to please send a waiter our way while my Husband got up from the table to go to the bar to get us a drink. Once the waitress got there, she was great and attentive and apologetic. I frequent Eddie Vs steakhouse a lot and in no way did this restaurant compare to Eddie Vs. Not sure if I will go back. Like I said. Food was good not great.
Wonderful food and wonderful service. It was a beautiful setting for a Christmas Eve dinner.
Great food good prices however, we had to wait 35 minutes to get our food, while others next to us also table for 4 ordered ate and left long before we got our entree. I don’t put the full blame on the server as she doesn’t cook or process our order in the kitchen. The Sous chef did come over and apologize for the long wait and offered dessert on him which was very nice of him. We will be back things happen.
Brynn was an outstanding server!!!!!
Great service, great time!
Great Christmas celebration with friends. Lively, festive, delicious!
Overall a great experience!
The food was good, as was the service. The only problem was that it was a cold, windy evening and there was a cold draft in the restaurant. Our server, Solomon, was excellent. I decided to be daring and try a quinoa entree. It was delicious!
Great service and great food!!
Everyone was very accommodating and wonderful. Thank you team Paul Martin!
Excellent service from start to finish. The greetings by the manager and hostess to our outstanding servers. Paul Martin’s is a favorite when visiting Austin.
my experience at paul martins was awesome, everything including their services was perfect.
A little pricey, but overall a great venue. We especially appreciated our impeccable service from Simon.
We had quite a wait even though we had a reservation. The manager nicely provided us with a complimentary charcuterie board. Our waiter, Aaron, was fantastic!
Went to Paul Martins this weekend to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The staff went above and beyond helping to make this a memorable night! After some reservation confusion, Corrine Kirchhoff (operating partner) personally handled resolving the issue. As a bonus for the confusion she offered our table free appetizers and birthday champagne which was unnecessary but shows just how much they cared. The food is wonderful! I recommend the braised short rib which melts in your mouth! The servers were extremely attentive to every request. I’d like to thank our main server Maree who was patient with our large party and our many needs. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to celebrate a special occasion or date night. 5 stars!!!
Paul Martin’s has consistently delivered excellent food and service. The hostesses were warm and welcoming, and Simon, our server, was kind and attentive. We enjoyed the evening very much.
Made last minutes reservations for a date night and really enjoyed the place. Service was stellar!! They split our plate and did not charge us to do so - the wine list was extensive and wonderful apps.
Salt and pepper shrimp
Half order of the charcuterie board
Quinoa bowl add salmon
At one point I heard a fire truck so I turned around and a waiter, not ours thought I needed something so quickly came to me. That’s service!! Wow!
Food was good, server was attentive, but apologized several times for extremely long wait for cocktails. Room was quite noisy.
The food is along the lines of any franchise restaurant with a price mark up. The location and service is the only reason I would want to be dragged here. I wouldn’t visit this restaurant if I had other options.
Disappointed in the meal. Food was mediocre to bad. To be fair, we had a group of 12 for lunch, but half the food was not good. French Fries came out under-cooked. The Mac & Cheese tasted like it was missing an ingredient, and was essentially inedible. While these normally could be overlooked by a busy restaurant during a busy season, half the tables were empty while we were there and maybe 4-5 people at the bar. The restroom had no towels to dry hands. Overall a poor experience and I would not recommend for large groups
The food here is great and portions generous. Unfortunately, none of our sides were delivered to the table before our entrees were consumed. (They were busy with lots of what I assume were Christmas parties.) On a normal day, I'd say this is a great place to dine.
Our good was luke warm when it was served. Good quality but diminished the experience. They need hot lamps over the food bar while food is waiting for the server. And it was mid-afternoon when we were there. Not a busy time.
We ordered the skirt steak which is one of my favorites. All five orders came out on coldplates and then meet was cold. Not only that the meals came out at separate times. We sent them back and they still came out cold. Manager was very apologetic.
Waited 30 mins for a server. Food was not at temperature. Did not enjoy at all.
