If you want amazing food at a great price this is where to go. My husband and I have gone three times and have tried most things on the menu, never a miss. All of the food is amazing!!!!!! They are sensitive to food allergies as well, I have a severe tomato allergy and they double check with the chef to see if the plate can be modified to accommodate my allergy, if it can't they come back and let me know. Such great service!!!!!
Good menu variety but not so many items you get lost. Portions were of good size. Good attentive service. Nice place for date or business meal
A late night supper, quiet dining for two. We took advantage of the 2-course meal for two plus a bottle of wine to share for $75. It was very good!
Our waitperson was outstanding. Can always count on great meal at Paul Martin’s Mountain View.
Service was a bit slow. Food was mostly good, but the fried chicken was overcooked. The dining room is visually appealing.
I went with a friend and she raved about her salad. I had the steak and bacon tacos with a light salad, wonderful.
Everything was nice. However, we requested the music be turned down a tad because we were having trouble hearing each other across the table. The server said she would notify the manager which she did and the music was not turned down
Enjoyable. Have dined here before and will do so agai
There was nothing about the food worth writing home about ... For the price of the entrees the taste and presentation should have been better. It almost looked like one of those microwave dinners you find in a freezer section that you zap for 2 minutes and call it good. It’s not worth a revisit .
We have dined in other Paul Martin's in the Bay Area and have always had a wonderful experience. Paul Martin's in Mountain View did not disappoint! Excellent service, well crafted cocktails and delicious food made our evening one we will not forget. Looking forward to returning to the Paul Martin's in Mountain View very soon.
We’ve eaten at Paul Martin’s many times over the last 3-4 years and never been disappointed, however this particular evening, the chef seemed to be having a bad night. We’re not saying that the food was bad, but it certainly was not at the level that we have previously enjoyed at this establishment. The seasonings on our appetizers (calamari and crab cake) and entrees (rib-eye and skirt steak) were off, mostly over-salted and failing to have incorporated anything that elevated the food to anything special. The previously enjoyed banana cream pie can best be described as “tired” and the peach cobbler was rather pedestrian.
Service was impeccable: professional, friendly and attentive, but not suffocating.
We will definitely return and hope that this evening’s meal was an aberration.
I was pleasantly surprised with the restaurant.
As always, this place delivers excellent food in a pleasant (though noisy) environment. Some carpeting would help control the noise level.
The food was great and the happy hour prices for our meals were fantastic. I don't know what the noise level was inside the restaurant, but on the patio (where we ate) we could easily hold a conversation. The service was good overall, with a couple of mistakes on filling our order. The mistakes were quickly rectified and we got a free appetizer as a result. I'd definitely eat here again.
Loved the patio, long happy hour, good food and good service at bar and wait staff!
Went to Paul Martins with a dinner reservation but after reviewing their Happy Hour menu we opted for that.
Great venue, easy for conversation. Service person seemed disinterested. We had gluten free and dairy free needs in our party, limited options and little interest from her in finding solutions. Perhaps no training. Food was good but pricey. Not spectacular. Would eat there again.
I have had some issues with waiters and hostesses in the past but this visit went smoothly. I had the seasonal trio which I enjoyed. The ribs were excellent, fried chicken moist but I have had better coatings. The shrimp were only slightly over cooked and the mexican corn tasty. My wife enjoyed her french dip, son and daughter in law liked the steak salad and grandson finished his fish tacos. The peach cobbler had lots of peaches. In summary, well executed.
My wife is recovering from chemo. This was her first venture out. She saw a salmon sandwich on the PM's website that looked okay to her. Got to the restaurant and IT WAS NO LONGER ON THE MENU!. She tried the salmon tacos instead and they were very dry, finally got more sauce from our waitress who literally disappeared most of the time. I had the short ribs which were good, but I had to send back my gin and tonic because it wasn't mixed correctly. Too much gin, more like a martini. $106 for a pretty poor meal and service. Bye bye!
The waiter was completely inattentive. The beef dip sandwiches had low-quality meat and were quite bland.
The food, Brick chicken, salmon salad, and the seasonal trio, we’re great! The desserts were also very good, brownie, peach cobbler, and an unbelievable butter cake. Our server, Monica, was truly exceptional. I hope we can get her every time we visit.
Paul Martin's American Grill now has two good vegetarian options. I had the quinoa bowl which was tasty and large -- enough to take leftovers home for dinner. The only thing that is ever an issue at PM is the noise level. Yesterday was relatively quiet. They did have a big party, but it was outside. There was one noisy table near us, but that is the fault of the noisy, loud people, not the restaurant.
We ran into an awful experience at Paul Martin's. We have been there before and enjoyed their food so we decided to go back for father's day. We made an 8pm reservation. We arrived and the hostess let us know our table will be ready in a couple minutes. We waited 20mins before checking in again at which point the hostess said they were waiting for one of the 5 seater tables to open up. We waited another 40 mins - a total of one hour past our reservation time - to ask again about our table. They said the same thing (waiting for a table to leave). Meanwhile, multiple parties had been seated ahead of us.
We were forgotten. Not apologized to. And No Manager came to step in to apologize for such a disastrous mess up. We ended up leaving the restaurant without ever being seated.
Horrific service experience.
They are ok at best and overbook always. Open Table reservations are meaningless. Expect a long wait and you may not hear them call your name
The ambiance was very relaxed on a Sunday Father's Day afternoon. They definitely do meats very well, flavors where great, but everything was Luke warm from the bread, to the brunch dishes we ordered. Not sure why that was. Other than that it would have been 5 stars.
Our server, Monica, was a delight - so helpful and friendly! We enjoyed our Seasonal Trios as well. Great value for how much food there was! A great Father’s Day meal!
Great food and service for Father's Day. Dad loved the Prime Rib and Mom loved the Monte Cristo.
We dined here for Father's Day brunch. It was a special menu with multiple choices. Our food was delicious. We'll definitely return.
The server was pleasant, however the service was extremely slow. The food was a bit over cooked and dry. Usually the food is great, but mediocre this time.
Saturday Night 6/15. The wait staff, very nice, had many gaffs/forgets/I'll be right back with that. One forget would have been OK. Two makes you go Hmm? Three or more makes you say "What's going on here?" We had many more. 2 of the 4 of us ordered a filet mignon and both were a bit grisly and not worth the $$. One filet was lukewarm and one was sizzling hot (perfect temp) when it arrived, which may explain why it took a really long time to get our food - was one steak was forgotten by the kitchen staff? The 3rd members of our group had a pork chop and it was good - same as always. The 4th member of our party had a salad for dinner with no cheese because she's allergic - you guessed it - it came with cheese on it and she had to pick it off. We spent $340 together - would you be happy?
UPDATE: Contacted by the manager and he was apologetic and offered appropriate compensation.
They make a great martini and I love that they have a lot of low carb options!
A perfect Fathers Day dinner. Great service and we all enjoyed our food very much. The seating was spacious. Thank you!
Had the SEASONAL TRIO which was "St. Louis style, slow-cooked ribs, buttermilk fried chicken breast, grilled shrimp & pineapple skewer" - first three was fine but the grilled shrimp came half raw. It was replaced with cooked shrimp after showing it to the server. Server commented that he/she does not eat shrimp so cannot tell - which I found werid given how or whether one eats shrimp or not can tell if it is raw or not. The replacement shrimp, while cooked, was not fresh. It had chalky and mushy texture where ended up not eating at all.
Loved the Asian Chicken Salad - very refreshing and fresh! Our server, Megan, was wonderful. She made us feel at home and was very attentive to our requests. We came at a moderately busy time and enjoyed the relaxed overall feel of the restaurant.
We have eaten at Paul Martin's for lunch frequently. The food is very good and it is always rather quiet on a
Sunday for lunch. However, the waiters always make a mistake on one or more of our orders. Happened this last time and the time before and other times. They just don't seem to listen or the chef ignores requests. We haven't figures that out yet. I would still recommend it though. Parking is not easy.
The best barbecue in town. Fresh, flavorful, and 100 percent delish. The $29 special is a fantastic deal. We’ll come back soon for more.
This was my first time at the restaurant and it was awesome! Our server, Terrence, was outstanding. He was super friendly, Knowledgeable and efficient. He made great recommendations and was attentive. I ordered the steak Cobb salad and it was fabulous! I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going there again.
Seated immediately. Server attentive but not intrusive. Drinks & food came to the table in reasonable time. Unhurried and had a good relaxing meal. New Summer pre-fixed meal hit the spot! Hot cleansing towels were an added feature after our meal.
I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for good food and nice ambiance!
Megan our server was outstanding. We all went for the special of the night, and it was great. $29 for combo of rib, chicken, shrimp, corn, biscuit and peach cobbler.
