We had a wonderful dinner with friends last night. Our server, Ryan was great! He made sure that we had what we needed, but also gave us time to visit with our friends. I had the Alaskan Halibut and it was the best halibut that I have ever had. Too many times halibut can be dry. I will definitely come back to have the halibut again! The roasted cauliflower was also delicious!

Service was sub-par for this level of dining. Slow, the food was auctioned at time of service, plates weren't cleared in a timely manner. At no point were we asked if the course was to our liking. Entrees were under-salted which certainly better than over. Desert was over cooked and dry. Coffee was watery and cold. I could go on but you get the point. Roadside diner dressed up as fine dining.

Celebrated my Birthday here. We brought our favorite wine ($10.00 corkage). The skirt steak & shrimp were perfect. The salmon was also perfect. Waiter was attentive and checked back to see if we needed anything. A complimentary birthday shortcake was delivered after dinner. We will go back.

Good food with a very good selections. My cocktail was delicious, I had the vodka collins the strawberry & basil was a great combination. But the thing that elevated our experience was our server. Alona was the best, so sweet, funny & she took very good care of us! Restaurants should not underestimate the impact that awesome service has on the dining experience.

My wife and I have been to the Paul Martin’s in Pasadena a few times and enjoyed it. However, our experience at the Irvine location last night was disappointing to say the least. It took approximately 45 minutes for us to get our meal after we ordered it, and there was really no communication about why we were waiting so long. Also for some strange reason our waitress stopped being our waitress and swapped to another table half way into our ways, and the waitress on the other table became our waitress for a short time, and then another server brought the food out. Then our original waitress came after our food was done, and I said I was not happy about the Waze and the lack of communication over different people, taking care of us, and not seeming to know what was going on. To be clear a number of tables that were sent after us got their food before us and waitress number two told us when she helped us and got us the water that waitress number one forgot to refill that our food was the next ticket up and then I saw another table get their food five minutes later before our food came 10 minutes later. When I said that I was unhappy with this to our first waitress and I asked for our check because we were in a hurry to go to a concert. The manager appeared with the check and when I asked if she was brought over because of my complaint, she acted like she didn’t know what was going on and left. it made the whole experience, unprofessional and disappointing. It would’ve been nice for someone to acknowledge that likely the order never got submitted on time and was forgotten about rather than passing the buck off to other people who acted like they didn’t know what was going on.

First time dining at Paul Martin's American Grill in Irvine. We had a wonderful experience, and the service was exceptional. Our Server, Amber was friendly and upbeat. She recommended the pepper shrimp and devilled eggs for an appetizer. They both were fantastic. Nice variety of drinks to choose from on the menu. I would highly recommend dining at Paul Martin's.

We were seated right when we walked in for our reservation. It took quite some time for our waiter to come over to introduce him self and probably 10 more minutes for our drink order. The service continue to be slow and he did not place our order in correctly so we ended up with finishing the main dish before the s correct sides were served. I have a beer for dessert since that came 20 minutes after I ordered it.

Excellent place for lunch. Great service. Just a little disappointed in their “Express Lunch,” which has always been a favorite. Prices have gone up about 50% in the last year or so, and portion and quality have declined a bit. Still a lovely restaurant and I will absolutely be back.

That was our second time at Paul Martin’s but a very disappointing experience! Food was Ok but delivered very slowly even though the place was not busy at all. Dinner plates were not clean, and when we requested a clean dinner plate .. the guy disappeared and we never got it. Bathrooms were disgusting. When we walked in we felt like we were interrupting the social hour of the over-staffed reception desk! They were too busy socialising while we waited to be seated. Our server was the only relatively positive experience but he was slow delivering the food and drinks.

Meh. We were somewhat disappointed because the menu looked delicious but the food was just OK for the price. The ahi poke wraps were delicious but the portion was very small for $18. My sons Mac and was bland. My Chinese chicken salad was terrible. Only romaine and hardly any noodles. The dressing wasn’t very flavorful and it was way too small of a portion for $24. The shrimp tacos and cheeseburger were better than the rest. I’ll try it one more time and order from the grill. The steaks and mashed potatoes coming out if the kitchen looked good.

Good but not great. We both got the blackened rib-eye and they had a very good taste but were underwhelming. My wife had a lot of fat and gristle. Also, the mashed potatoes were extremely watery. I wouldn't be surprised if we could have actually drank them from a glass.

We love this restaurant. We go for Sunday brunch. The Bloody Mary’s are great, we love the BBQ Cajun shrimp, the beef dip is more than you can eat. This time I had the Chilquilias which tasted wonderful. Great service from Martin and Jessica! We find ourselves returning again and again.

The food was just okay, nothing spectacular. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and did comp one of the meals (the halibut was chewy). The bathrooms were atrocious, dirty, wet towels everywhere on the floor and counter. Soap dispensers didn’t work, so someone took cap off and left a mess. Very disappointed…probably won’t eat there again.
