Paul Martin's American Grill - Irvine
Everything was great but filet was too spicy. Sent it back then overcooked but they took it off the bill. Would go again.
We had a great time! The artichoke was delicious as were the deviled eggs. A fun time was had by the adults & children and everyone’s plate was clean!
SUNDAY 2/16/2020 Reservations for 4. Seated promptly, then waited 5 minutes for "Juliette " our sever to come over. We placed drink orders. Did not see her or drinks for 11 more minutes. Asked another wait staff for our drinks. Then Juliette appears with our watered down drinks. ASKED for water was told "Yes, No worries ". Ordered another round of drinks due to the inital delay, and ordered food. Our food came out before our 2nd order of cocktails. AND Still No Water. ASKED again. Member of party asked for Ranch dressing. Got it after the French Fries were cold.
Place was Not Crowded. No bussing staff to clear table or get water. Appeared 3 wait staff and 1 bartender.
Food was Ok, but not in any way Vegetarian friendly or accomadating.
Got Water 2/3 through meal, after 3rd request.
Then bill came and charged for a Salad never ordered. AND I had Prime Rib Sunday Special, that was to come with Ice Cream dessert. Never happened!! Just wanted to get the hell out of there, after the bill was fixed.
Horrible Service. Food is just OK. Drinks watered down, as they sit on the bar for 15 minutes until being served. Very Expensive for what ypu get.
PS: Tried to look for Manager to express what was happening, no where to be found.
I did leave Juliette a $40.00 tip on a $276.00 bill.
Will NOT ever go back. !!
Service was phenomenal. Waitress was knowledgeable and detailed in her suggestions
When we arrived we noticed that the lights were dimmed making the mood more romantic for Valentine’s Day. The perfect setting. Then our server was the most friendly. She knew everything in the menu and had her suggestions, which was spot on. She always made sure we had drinks and asked if we needed anything where it wasn’t too much or too little. I got the fish tacos and my girl got the braised ribs. So satisfying with flavor. Highly recommend!
Made reservation here took almost a hour seat me . But other than that food was great..
Valentine’s Day dinner. I appreciated that they offered their full menu in addition to the Valentine’s special menu. It was very crowded (not a surprise) but we didn’t have to wait long after checking in with our reservation. Our server was great! There were a couple small hiccups but nothing big and he did a great job being honest and rectifying it. His attitude was great. The food was very good. This is our second visit and both times the food and service was great. We will certainly be back again!!
Valentine’s Day. We waited about 40 minutes to get drinks and about 30 minutes to get food. We enjoyed the ambiance while waiting. The personnel need more training
Valentines Day dinner was disappointing, we usually like our dinners at Paul Martins and we are regulars.
First off, the waiter never offered us bread which they always did before on all of our previous visits.
Secondly the Brussel sprouts that ordered did not have any bacon in them, also our very talkative waiter recommended the lobster ravioli which he said included 4 raviolis but in fact came out with three very small pieces which for the price of almost 20.00 was extremely disappointing.
Finally we came to the Sea Bass which we both ordered
and of which one piece came out burnt and other piece
was undercooked, both pieces of fish were very bland
and were nowhere close to the quality of the Sea Bass that we had had there in the past. All in all a very disappointing Valentines Day experience & meal !
The waitress was very attentive and courteous. The food was exceptionally great!
Great Valentine destination! Nice pre-fix menu. Romantic setting. Good desserts
It was Valentine’s Day. Our reservation was at 6pm. We had the small Charcuterie Board to start. It was good. My husband ordered the Cedar Plank Steel Head Salmon. According to the menu this is the description.
CEDAR PLANK STEELHEAD SALMON
crusted with caramelized onions and bacon, spinach, mushrooms, savory jus
My husband said the Salmon was not cooked on a cedar plank. If it was, there was no cedar flavor at all. It was cooked in an oven. There was nothing crusted about the onions and bacon. He thought the sauce was slimy but the fish was cooked nicely. That was a disappointment. I ordered the Beef Short ribs. They were delish. The butter cake dessert was also amazing.
We enjoyed our time there and the ambiance was perfect. We just won’t order the Salmon again.
Great food and service!!! Will be back to try happy hour.
Delicious every time.
Spinach artichoke dip and quinoa bowl were delicious!
The wait staff is outstanding and food delicious. My favorite restaurant!
This is my favorite restaurant. Great food and service. Go here for special occasions due to the price but it is always a great experience.
They have an awesome happy hour until 7 everyday.
The food was awesome, great service. The server was very attentive and pleasant.
It was a all-around great meal! We were offered the main menu or happy hour since it was still going on... we went with dinner. My fiancé ordered a steak and it came out perfectly to his liking. While my father ordered the tacos and I ordered the salmon. As an appetizer we also had the ahi tower and the soup. The clam chowder soup received an “outstanding” from my father, while I preferred the ahi tower to my entree: The Salmon. Overall, had a fantastic dinner.
We arrived early and were seated immediately. Service was good but the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the Alaskan Halibut which tasted ok but was overcooked. My co-worker ordered the Blackened Ribeye but there was no cajun seasoning on it so he had to send it back. Not impressed and likely won't be back.
I have been there three times. I do not plan to go back. I am not satisfied with food quality and service.
Everything GOOD. Only drawback is location for handicapped walkers who parked near Target. Too far away for first timers.
Outstanding service, good vibe and diverse, tasty menu.
I requested a private space because one of my guests has a low immune system. The hostess went way out her way to seat us in a very private location. Our server Sydney was awesome too!
I hate to say this but the food needs a little help. My ma ordered the French Dip she had 2 bites and stopped eating it. Manager Keith Bennett noticed this and came to our table to check on us. He told her to order something else and he would be happy to exchange it. I am a huge fan of eggs Benedict and ordered the Grilled Benedict, unfortunately the Hollandaise sauce was not good it had a funky taste and way to much arugula. The Champagne Lemonade was really good and the Smores dessert was amazing! Homemade Marshmallow and gram crackers were really good as well. The thing that saved the trip was the service, our waitress was very attentive and sweet and the Manager was amazing, he continued to check on us and make sure that everything was going well. I will go back again and try the happy hour and the fried chicken which I have heard is really good!
The food, cocktails and service were excellent, but over-priced. Restaurant does not validate tickets for parking structure across the street, so $20.03 to park for dinner is very expensive. They don't have booths in the dining room that seat 4 people, They only have booths for 2, or half booths. Our booth for 4, was in between 2 other tables which both had large parties, so there was no privacy and it was very noisy. There are too many other restaurants that have delicious food, great service, normal booths to sit in, more privacy and free parking or valet at much less of a price. We will not be returning to this restaurant again.
Excellent food and our server was beyond helpful!
High-end dining expeerience in a friendly environment.
Meeting with old friends
We go to the Scottsdale location quite often. The Irvine location was comparable. We feel bar seating is better than general seating in Irvine but everything else was great.
We shared a few dishes do we could try multiple items. The braised short rib, halibut and brussels sprouts hit the spot perfectly. The wine list is healthy and the bottle prices were very reasonable. Hostess reception was a bit bumpy (a bit of confusion and delay as to who was checking us in and who was actually seating us). The rest of our meal was great. Our server was over the top great, bussers were diligent about offering more bread and clearing plates. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience.
The service and food were outstanding and the bar area was a great choice for a casual dinner with friends
The staff was extremely attentive and courteous. I would recommend having dinner here and its well suited for casual, romantic or business meals.
Took a friend out for a nice dinner to celebrate my birthday. He had the spare ribs, my spouse had the fried chicken and I had the fish tacos. Since we were there to celebrate, we had a nice sundae as well. The portions are healthy (read: large and easily sharable). The service was warm and friendly and extremely attentive. Will be back when in the area.
Food was delicious, the Chilean sea bass dish with Miso glaze and citrus was amazing and should be a permanent part of the menu. Alana the server was on top of everything including menu recommendations for the wife. My steak was perfectly cooked and tender.
Excellent service, delicious food and my Cosmo was perfect! Ambiance will quiet and beautiful for our New Year's Dinner. Everything was perfect and planning to return to try more delicious dishes.
We had NYE dinner here and it was a very pleasant experience. Carly was a perfect server and the manager helped out by taking a photo of us with our delicious dinner. The food was delicious! I recommend the seasonal wild mushroom soup and the Chilean Sea Bass. The Fillet Oscar was excellent too! While writing this review, I'm thinking of going there for dinner again tonight! LOL!
We were told there was a happy hour but it was cancelled when we got there
