Very humiliated, we are in our middle 80's traveled all over the Americana's never have we be in a SITUATION like this drove 90 miles round trip
put us in a party room about 16x30 in another bldg. first party of about 12 people leave. party of about 14 adults, 10 children came in then we had no waitress FOOD came from the maim bldg. cold and over cooked Oysters water bags raw small, BQ oysters dried out very small
How ever the the waiters and waitress's try to make up for it.

Made a reservation for early birthday dinner. Asked to sit outside and was told no because the servers are counting on the inside reservations. But they don't allow you to make reservations for outdoor dining. Curious if they have different servers for outside and inside. Food was good as it is a Pat Gallagher restaurant but would have preferred the ambiance of sitting outside as there were tables available.

2nd time eating here - chargrilled oysters although small, were still delicious. Potatoes Au Gratin great, also the sweet chili glazed shrimp appetizer, oyster & catfish platter & tuna two ways. Brittany was our waitress & she was fantastic.

Food was good and our server was the best! Great service, thank you Andrew. We really enjoyed the evening.

LOVED the whole experience. We arrived right at sunset and got to see it right by our window inside. Our waitress, Lucy, was amazing with her great personality and getting us everything we needed throughout our meal. Our gumbo and redfish entree were delicious, and they make a MEAN old fashion!

Our server was very attentive and helpful. Seems like the everyone who works at Pat's Rest Awhile has a great attitude. Food was delicious!

We had an enjoyable dinner with a beautiful view. Our waiter Austin was lovely. My drink was not my fave but the food was outstanding

Food and service were very good! All hard surfaces and high ceilings make for a very noisy environment, but the view of the lake is lovely. Kate was a fantastic server! Sitting outside on a beautiful day would be great, but that's strictly first come, first served. Cloth napkins would be expected with the prices. Would return and recommend with some caveats.

Redfish was very fresh along with green beans
Fried chicken was very bland
Shrimp appetizers were tasty but came out very lukewarm
Gouda Mac cheese has so much potential but dry as ever. No moisture whatsoever.

Very disappointing- burned gumbo and over charred sword fish. Definitely not the level of food prep that I expected. The beet salad and barbecue shrimp was a saving grace.

It is consistent and very good, need I say more. Excellent mixed drinks pre and post dinner outside on the deck... Keep up the good work!

BEST chargrilled oysters in town!

Fine Dining food, Fine Dining prices, sub-par service.

The restaurant itself reminded of an old West End restaurant in New Orleans. Great view and very noisy. We had a table of four, with a child, and everyone ordered a different dish. The seafood was fresh and well prepared and seasoned, just be aware that the toppings were salty, if you’re sensitive to that. The char-grilled oysters were almost as good as Dragos, but not as charred. Very tasty. We like to try the gumbo everywhere we go and it did not disappoint. Very good dark roux and seasoned well. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will be back often. My only disappointment were the hush puppies! Bland, even with the green onions and sausage.

The wait staff were fantastic. Very accommodating. Food was not as good as usual. Pork Chop was tough and Mac & Cheese was lukewarm. Will still go back and hope food is back to what it has been.

We had charbroiled oysters, wedge salad, onion rings, pork chop, and redfish. Everything was outstanding, and our waitress Brittany helped to make it a perfect night. I will recommend this place to all my friends.

We were told they won’t take reservation for outdoor dining, 2 hours before we arrived. I made a reservation with OpenTable a week ago. But, when I called the day of… to request a birthday dessert, they told me that I couldn’t request outdoor dining upon arrival. We really wanted outdoor dining because the acoustics inside are awful, and my mother-in-law is hard of hearing. The hosted said I had to cancel the indoor dining reservation in order to be able to get on the waitlist once we arrived for outdoor dining. They open at 4:30, so we got there at five. Party of 5. When we arrived there was already an hour wait.

And it was definitely an hour wait. And then the service was awful. I called ahead to make sure there was a birthday surprise dessert for my niece,Which I reminded the hostess of, on the waiter. But the waiter forgot and I had to ask again. But then someone else brought it out, and didn’t know it was a birthday surprise and just put it down on the table and walked away.. Then we waited at least 20 minutes just for the check, after asking two different servers to bring it to us.

Ambiance is great though. But that’s pretty much what you’re paying for… and tge Gallagher name. It’s PRICEY!

Also, I’m sure it’s great during the day when it’s hot, but the new sunshades they installed this past week really block the view above. And the lighting is awful outside now.

I’d love some way to reserve outside. Reservation made 2 weeks in advance and can only sit inside on a perfect day. Food was great and service wonderful.

Thank you so much for making my daughter’s Homecoming pre-dance event so wonderful. Everyone had such a great time! And thanks for taking care of us parents too! Food and drinks were delicious!

Dining room was so loud that staff graciously moved us to the Tavern Room. Table was booked to celebrate a birthday but was never mentioned by staff.

I would recommend restaurant but would let them know that it is extremely loud if you sit inside. Too loud to carry on conversations.

Our first visit. Helpful, pleasant staff. Great location, loved the lake breeze. Casual atmosphere with an upscale menu. We split the beet salad, fish entree and the double cut pork chop. Everything was fresh and tasted excellent. Nice cocktail menu and wine selection. We will definitely be back and can’t recommend enough.

It was the first time we dined indoors. The noise level was pretty "energetic" as the LSU game was on in the bar area. Being a bit more soft-spoken, conversation was a little difficult. Next time I will book earlier to be sure to get outdoor seating. The food and service were very good as always!

The noise is AWFUL when dining inside. Wow ! Per waitress, acoustic engineering company consulted. We were very bothered by this and thankfully the food made up for that. Next time, dine alfresco, so we can talk. The beet salad, pompano amandine and cedar plank redfish were delicious !!! Beautiful sunset views over L Pontchartrain. Will come back soon. Lucy did an excellent job.

Excellent food and service

We loved everything but the shrimp cocktail which was returned and we were not charged. The other shrimp dishes were exceptional but the shrimp used in the shrimp cocktail did not taste as fresh as we expected.
The redfish had some dark meat which we did not find appealing.
Overall, we loved the oysters and the pompano and our waiter was exceptional. We love the ambiance and sunset on the deck was amazing.
We can’t wait to return!

We went here for the history and ambiance, but really enjoyed the food and view of the lake. Service was surprisingly good considering how short handed restaurants have been. I had the tuna salad. Delicious.

Enjoyed great drinks in nice bar to the right of the main restaurant upstairs. Staff very friendly and great atmosphere! Main restaurant was great also, waiter was very personable and food was great! Will definitely be back!
