Excellent as always. Certainly at the top end of Thai restaurants in London.
Excellent, sophisticated Thai food - not inexpensive but decent value for money. Enjoyed our meal and the friendly service. Well done!
We had booked a table but we were seated by the door. It was consistently cold. Our orders were taken quickly and food delivered within minutes. No service, chat, check back and we had to ask to order more drinks: desserts etc. We also had to ask for our check. We had patrons queuing at the side of us waiting tables. Experience overall poor.
I had my bday lunch at Patara Soho and was superb. They welcomed us at the reception with the Thai hello and I loved that, it was like back in Phuket 🙂 Place wasn’t busy, only few tables so was really pleasant, not to loud. We could have conversation without shouting to each other. Food was good. The plater to share for a starter was good, scallops cooked to perfection 👌. Prawn green curry delicious and fish was fried in very unusual way, also delicious. And service … A+ Very friendly, smiling at all time, nothing was to much for them. Because we mentioned that was a bday lunch, I received lovely sweet treat for my dessert, little pudding with a candle and a happy bday song. It was really nice. We will bo going back there again soon, maybe for dinner this time.
Celebrating a colleague who had received an industry award that day. The people at Patara soho couldn’t have done more to make the evening super special. The food was outstanding, our waiter was really charming and made my SomTum hot and spicy as requested. The service was smooth and unrushed and it was exceptional good value. Highly recommend!
Wonderful to be back and enjoy the fabulouse flavours of Patara.
The restaurant is very nice and in a great location in SOHO. Food did not come out in a timely manner. Unfortunately service was very slow.
Everything was superb, the only reason got 4* instead of 5, we found the menu a little limited. But what we choose was excellent.
The food was great and the service was outstanding. The portions in comparison to price were bit small though
Super quick service for a pre theatre meal, delicious fresh food, lovely staff, a total winner!
Service and food was 5*
wonderful, lovely food, great presentation and service
Pre theatre meal was absolutely fabulous. So delicious and out in plenty of time to see the show
Fantastic dining experience.
Quite bright in the dining room which was a little disappointing compared to my memory of a more dimly lit restaurant with spotlights falling on each diners plate. Also, a little quiet in the restaurant. Not many guests (it was a Monday so to be expected) but the lack of any ambient music made it a bit library-esque while eating.
Food cannot be faulted. Absolutely exceptional. Only downside (very minor) was the crab for the yellow curry was unavailable which meant it had to be prepared with prawn instead. Still, was delicious. My partner had the lamb shank massaman & was as happy as I’ve ever seen her consuming a meal!
Great value for money, great way to spend a birthday with a loved one. Will definitely be back.
Lovely food, had a great time with my friends as a birthday meal. Service was excellent. Held our table for 45 minutes!!! Definitely planning to come again.
We went to Patara in Soho many times in the past. We returned because it was good in the past .
Sadly, we were disappointed. They are always friendly when you arrive and this was no exception but it became obvious that they were understaffed. Everything was a wait. On the positive side, the cocktails were good.
The food was not near their usual standard. The dick spring roll did not taste fresh—neither the squid.
Main courses were not much change . The chicken (green curry) was tough as if it was pre-cooked and was going through a second cycle .
The pad Thai did not appear to be fresh.
Given it’s price point, not a good performance .
We may give it a try another time but we left disappointed .
Quite loud, otherwise very good
Nice food but a bit expensive good service
It took us a while to get seated but it was worth the wait. Enjoyed every bit of food we ordered and the staff were really good to us.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Consistency is key. They ALWAYS deliver quality. My Thai go to without question. StrangePerfection Rating = What are you waiting for? Get involved.
Food was great. Service poor no lamb but order taken then told 30 minutes later with no apology
Early evening dinner before theatre. Had to call to say we would be 15 minutes late, no problem. Warm welcome, attentive staff. Allowed to try Thai wine I had not had before - nice touch. Good food, fast delivery, lovely wine. Staff noticed that my elderly mother was making her way towards the stairs towards the toilets and quickly directed her to the disabled one (which was not marked) on the ground floor - a much appreciated kindness. Enjoyable and friendly.
Would certainly try again.
Some dishes were nice. Some were cold and some were frankly poor.
amazing food and super friendly staff!! would definitely recommend to a friend.
First time going into this restaurant; was amaze how good the food tasted!
Will definitely come back again!
Lamb Shank Massaman curry was superb
Food was great. Staff were really friendly and the ambience was great too
Superb food and service, with complimentary drinks at end of dinner due to our celebration.
Ambiance was nice, but food and drink was hit and miss. Ordered two lychee Martin's for my partner and i, both of which had little if any alcohol. Also ordered prawn pad thai which came out with undercooked, barely warm prawns. I sent this back and must say it was replaced without fuss. When we informed our waitress at the end of the meal about the issue with the cocktails, we were offered a complimentary drink at the end of our meal as a good will gesture but declined as the novelty had passed. All in all, the location and ambiance were fine but i would not return as there are better thai options; both value for money, and taste wise available lovally. We opted for thai sqaure Trafalgar square the following evening and everthing-food, drink, service and ambiance were spot on!
We were really looking forward to returning to Patara having eaten there on a dozen or more occasions over the years, but left disappointed. Dishes we’d eaten before were noticeably changed and well below the standards we’d previously enjoyed and nothing out of the ordinary. I had a green curry which was full of broccoli and not a lot else. The pad Thai was flavourless and could’ve been out of a packet it was so bland - a dish that any street vendor in Thailand would serve for 15baht and would be infinitely better. £10 for 4 corn cakes is day light robbery, especially when served doughy and stodgy. I hope this is just a blip due to the knock on effect from the pandemic as I’d previously loved eating here, but I doubt I’ll be returning any time soon.
A lovely experience overall. Food attention to detail and flavour. A bit pricey but worth it.
Great food and service. Very quiet for a Friday night.
Long one of my favourite restaurants and definitely the best Thai restaurant in London. Great to be back - give them your business! Fantastic food, a dangerous cocktail and wine list and perfect service. Just still a bit empty (at lunchtimes certainly) due to COVID so support them please. We'll be back very soon.
The food was absolutely delicious. I had vegan options and would highly recommend. Service was excellent and very friendly. There was a large family party which had children and was quite noisy but did not interfere with our enjoyment of the meal.
Lovely food, great service. My favourite Thai restaurant
Best Thai Restaurant in the UK! (from Thai native person) :D
Best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been too, the food was to die for! Will definitely be going back
I am massively disappointed that this restaurant isn't listed as having vegan options online because I almost missed it!! So glad I didn't!
Staff were very attentive, constantly refilling water, collecting food etc.
We had someone with a food allergy and staff detailed which foods were safe and even asked if we were sharing food to prioritize keeping the person with an allergy safe.
Always, always fantastic.. Atmosphere. Food is incredible.
Celebrated my birthday and got a cake with a candle as a surprise from the kitchen.
Truly one of my favourite places in London to go.
Staff were lovely, very friendly and super professional.
Very mediocre Thai food, nothing special, and pricey for what they are. Won’t go there again.
