   This is a hip, lively, and enjoyable restaurant in San Clemente. Upon being seated, Joe, one of the owners, came by and introduced himself, and chatted with us, which was really nice, and made us feel welcome and relaxed. We ordered the fennel sausage pizza, arugula salad, and spaghetti carbonara. The arugula salad was a showcase for how to make stars out of simple ingredients. The pasta was made in house, and is as good as what we tasted in Italy. The pizza, for me, needed some tomato sauce, with the natural sweetness to balance the saltiness of the cheese and sausage. But, cooked properly in their wood fired oven. Their corkage, at $20, is very fair. We will return!

   More than just pizza. Pasta dish and half chicken were great. Sat on the patio very nice.

   The vegetarian pasta dish was perfection. I wanted to add shrimp to it for protein but the cost was $15 for 3 large shrimp. I passed as my entree was only like $24. It was full of delicious veggies like onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms. I would go back and order the same thing. Although the menu was limited on non-meat items, the dish was really really good.

   We had the best experience last night at Parlor. They had our table for 7 waiting for us when we arrived despite it being VERY crowded! They made us feel special by having the manager greet us personally. Jen did a great job serving us and Mia made a nice strong drink for my husband’s birthday. They were very concerned the pizza oven was getting backed up so they sent an app on the house. All around a great dining experience. I’m not surprised at all that it was booked solid the entire 2 hours we were there.

   This is our 2nd time dinning . We ordered a mushroom pizza, meatballs, Caesar salad, chicken parm and Tagliette meat sauce. We ordered a large Caesar salad and requested no croutons and extra anchovies! When the salad was delivered it had tons of croutons and 2 pieces of anchovies! We ate the salad and removed the croutons. The waiter just apologized! Did not offer to take it back or anything! When our main course arrived they only brought over our pasta dish! We had to wait about 10 minutes for the chicken parm! So, by the time it arrived our pasta was luke warm! Again, just an apology for the late arrival! I would have expected some type of offer for the mishaps!

   Spoiler alert - restaurant was slammed and their pizza ovens were overwhelmed. That would explain the 45 minutes delay in getting our pizza which ended up dry and over cooked. However they were gracious enough to comp the meal, including our salad. My suggestion is for servers to be aware of kitchen backups and express those concerns to guests when ordering.

    The food was absolutely delicious. The hospitality was extremely engaging The ambiance was fun and we loved the lanai seating it was a 10 experience across the board!
