Food was edible but poor quality. Just not a good experience from just about every angle!
The food and service was amazing!
Terrible ripoff. Went for Valentine's Day. They forced my fiance and I to share a prix fixe menu for one person, and charged us $140. We had to split a moderately sized salad and 4 lamb chops that were fatty and mediocre. The menu indicated that we would both get entrees and appetizers. Not that we would have to share one persons.
They left the front door open for prolonged periods of time when it was freezing outside. We could see our breath inside the restaurant
Service was attentive but the restaurant was a ripoff and would never go back. Horrible horrible horrible
Had a great time. Wonderful service. Our server Jack was awesome.
Went there for my birthday and honestly their 1/2 off oysters and bubbles is one of the best deals in town! I’m only docking a star bc some of the food we ordered didn’t come out and we knew the bartender was busy doing other things so we just ended the night a little early which was kind of meh. That being said, since there wasn’t anyone really behind the bar we didn’t have anyone around us and it felt super safe!
I had a wonderful birthday celebration with good wine and LOTS of oysters! All five of us ordered the steak and frites as our entree and let’s just say our table was silent for a solid ten minutes! Would absolutely recommend!
Overall our experience was enjoyable. We had a great waitress named Abby and she took good care of us. Everyone in our group enjoyed their dishes - the chicken sandwich, ceviche, salmon. I got the buttered chicken dish and it wasn’t my favorite - the peppercorn sauce made it taste burnt and weird. I ended up just getting a side of fries to neutralize the taste and feed my appetite. I did enjoy the music and it wasn’t very crowded the night we went so I’d go again but get something different. I plan to check out their Wed evening half off oyster and bubbles deal.
Best Happy Hour in town coupled with the best service in town makes this spot our regular hangout.
Amazing happy hour with delicious food and drink options. My only complaint is that service is always slow, so be prepared for that going in. I would recommend this Austin gem
Tables seemed a little close together but the staff was amazing and the food was delish! Can’t beat 50% off oysters and sparkling wine on Wednesday!
Overpriced and over cooked. Food was rushed. Received my salad course while the appetizers were still on the table. So they just put the salads on the edge if the table. Jack our server just had no time for us. Maybe he had to many tables. It was a prefixed menu it should have been easy on them.
We had an amazing family dinner on Xmas Eve!
Cocktails bland, fried chicken sandwich was terrible - breading was falling off, under seasoned, bun was stale. Oysters were great, calimari was solid. The choice of music was awful....too loud and sounded like I was in a club. Didn't fit atmosphere at all. Great server.
Our food was good! The oysters were great as always as was the soup and raw bass. Our service was fantastic, kind, educated and attentive. Perfect. I love Parkside!
Great dinner with adult children
Virginia oysters were perfect. Service was excellent. Great venue. Bone marrow was only so-so this time, but has been excellent in the past. We were there during happy hour, the value was incredible
Limited, weak menu right now. Cocktail options were bad combinations of flavors.
Food took forever. Food quality was not great and under seasoned.
I had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday for my partner. Lauren the bartender was very accommodating and just absolutely delightful. 10/10 would recommend.
Good food. Great drinks
Great service
Good background music
Great service
Had dinner early on. Friday evening. The social distancing and other pandemic procedures made us feel safe. All the food was excellent, but the bass from the raw bar menu, and the special appetizer of blood sausage with roasted vegetables were both highlights of the evening. My daughter has the macaroni and cheese side as her entree and was very happy.
Consistently good and amazing value during happy hour! Service has been spectacular - this place is in our regular rotation.
The menu was limited but the service was amazing. The food we had was good.
Food was great. Rare delicacy options. Ambiance was quiet indoors. We wanted rooftop but it worked out better this way. Waitress was attentive and quick with a great personality. Will definitely be coming back.
Disorganized. Long long wait time for food. We were seated much later than our reservation even though our table was open - like they were trying to pace the kitchen. Forgot one of our appetizers, long delay for main courses, then getting the bill was another long delay. We ordered the ceviche appetizer and crab cake appetizers which were very good. We then had the Salmon entrees, one of which was cold. They need new management.
Seated us not as requested.
Food was not good at all. I’ve been twice before and it was great. This time, blah!!!! And service was slow.
Everything was great except the food was flavorless... I was very excited to try the whole menu which we did get every appetizer they had. They where all very beautiful dishes but not a single thing had much flavor or weren’t seasoned well.
Sad to see the business struggling as it has always been a staple for us. Working with a skeleton crew, they are still friendly and attentive. The food is still good and HH is a great deal
The food was TERRIBLE unfortunately. The chicken sandwich lacked chicken and instead was a huge over fried piece of fat and the bun was toasted WAY to many times. The mac in the mac and cheese was nonexistent. Even the drink was awful considering we got something completely different from what was ordered.
If you’re thinking about visiting, keep on walking.
Visiting U of Texas for first time for our son.
HIGHLY recommend, as always. Safe during quarantine. Wednesday night oyster/sparkling night is a great deal. Our server Kate was amazing!
We LOVED the oyster deal on Wednesdays! So delicious. Our server was kind, gracious, and practiced good social distancing.
I appreciated that the management provides their employees with gloves, which not a lot of places are doing.
We will definitely return.
So glad we found this place. Service was exceptional. Food was great. Can't wait to visit again.
Unfortunately they were out of two of the appetizers our table ordered. But the oysters were outstanding and service was great! Happy hour is great and drinks just as good!
Parkside was okay. We went around 5:15 on a Saturday and did a great job with social distancing. No issues with feeling uncomfortable. It was happy hour and the drinks were good! I got the Strawberry Sparkle or something like that and it was good. The food was just ok. I had the salmon and my date had the chicken sandwich. Both meh. Not a lot of flavor. Service was fine. Nothing too crazy. Probably wouldn’t go back because there was nothing that really kept you wanting to come back!
great happy hour.
So good to be back at Parkside. Although they are not doing specials during this time the food was still very good. One of the best burgers in town. The fries seemed a little different we remembered them thinner and with a parmesan herb topping instead of the garlic herb. The scallops with crab louie sauce and roasted red pepper (?I think) sauce was very good. Generous serving of scallops perfectly cooked. Loved the thin slices of serrano on it (more!) but not the mint.
Great wine selections, loved the Texas Rousanne.
Wish they would bring back the Fluke dish that was so good, have to try the Bass next time.
We were adventuring out to dine in restaurants. We chose Parkside as we were familiar with this restaurant. We entered, were welcome and were taken to the bar area. We asked to sit in the dining room as we were dressed in nice clothes. The music was loud and not appropriate for fine dining - maybe we were too early. Nice waitress and when she saw we had only one phone with us and not so familiar with scanning she did bring us a paper menu. We ordered a Ceasar Salad and Steak & Frites to share. We also ordered Fried Calmari and Fried Okra to share. Overall, the food was disappointing, chopped lettuce with tomatoes and no dressing as ordered, Calmari only slightly crisp, steak one bite of 5 was without sinew. We liked the okra and the fried potatoes. Asked for catsup. We live in the neighborhood and like to support our local restaurants. We ordered a pizza from BackStreet the night before and it was also disappointing - crust was tough and could hardly find the mushrooms. I am hoping this was all attributed to pandemic closing and not their future food service.
Great service. Food was on point. Had pate and scallops. Hit the spot. Wed they have an oyster and bubbles happy hour. Best spot downtown.
