Amazing taste of France in every detail and outstanding preparation and service. The best French menu we have seen in Virginia.
Very nice Brunch. Great service and good food!
The food was mostly good and the service was mostly bad. Our first waiter took our order and then disappeared. We could not find him at all to ask if we could get bread. (I assume they don't provide bread to the table like most French restaurants.) Then, after delivering the food, he disappeared again. We had a few requests, but had no way to get them. Finally, we asked other waiters for help and then, all of a sudden, we had a new waiter. The new waiter was great! He was very attentive and extra helpful. Regarding the food, most was very good, but I felt my rib dish, which was served boneless, was a bit dry. The mussels, however, were amazing, according to my husband. Our guests were happy with their fish and chicken dishes and the chocolate mousse type of dessert was the best we had all ever tasted! On Open Table, there was a place to note that it was an anniversary dinner, but we didn't see any indication that that was noticed by the restaurant. I realize any restaurant can have bad days, even if they are great, but I would need to give it another try before being able to recommend it to a friend.
Wonderful restaurant with fabulous French Cuisine
Ordered fish entrees. Well prepared and presented. Ambience and background much were relaxing. Parking was convenient and free. Very satisfying experience.
Love the atmosphere, excellent and friendly service, and delicious food! Highly recommend for either an intimate meal or fun gathering!
Food was lovely! I understand Covid staff shortages, but it was vey slow service. I will say, everyone was very kind and accommodating though. The host/manager was great! Would go here again.
Love this place. It's exceptionally yummy and the servers are always amazing and super friendly. We had a great evening.
Great customer service , great experience
Wonderful French bistro food including great steak frites, duck confit, and troute grenobloise. Love the glass windows and the bar area. Service was nice. Reasonably priced. Just like your favorite bistro in your favorite arrondisement.
The food alwa
superb dining experience with friendly and considerate staff!!
Everything was wonderful. The food & drinks were delicious and our server was very knowledgeable. A+
Maybe it was just me but I found the french cousin being served not worth the price. I remember the appetizer being good however the entre I ordered DAUBE DE BOEUF was just bland! Did not have the richness I would expect from a French cuisine.
Also I would suggest diners skip the cocktails; pretty weak and all sugary; just get wine instead. Got two of them (the first one was a bit of cinnamon mess) and same difference.
Easy reservations, seated right away, good service.
One negative I did ask for a booth, and was told, we are booked, no can do.
We had lunch about one hour and thirty minutes, the booths were still empty!
We had a wonderful experience. Our waiter was amazing and very helpful in choosing wine and our meals.
Food was excellent. Service was excellent-he has perfect recommendations for drinks and add ins to meals. Very attentive. French contemporary with classic dishes that we all love (if you love French food) escargot was excellent-plump flavorful snails, mussels had the best “gravy” I’ve ever had and sopping it up with a crisp baguette and adding a cold glass of Sancerre made for the perfect meal. Spouse ate the Croque Madam and it was crispy and melty and lovely. Dessert was hazelnut and chocolate pot de crème-amazing. Perfect ending. Can’t wait to go back.
Phenomenal bar service - with a great team, informed and customer oriented. Well executed bistro. Okay wine list. Meal service was very poor. Inattentive wait staff, mistiming of dishes, and bad attitude made experience uncomfortable. Need to train all staff.
We came for an anniversary celebration, not knowing what to expect as it was our first time here. The food, service and drinks were all excellent. Olives and country pate for appetizers, and for the meal my wife had crusted salmon, I opted for the short rib. All were prepared in true French style and very good. Decent wine list.
One star off for the atmosphere...tables are a little close together and overall it is very noisy, so not at all an intimate affair. Also the by-the-glass wines and cocktails are very expensive, in the $15-20 range. Food prices are about normal for the area.
Despite that, will definitely come again and know what to expect.
This was our first time and we went for Sunday Brunch. I am French and I can say that I was very pleased to taste food from home, away from home so close to where we live.
Our server was French, which made all of the experience even better.
We will be back for sure.
Wonderful Brunch for a birthday party. Had the best bass in the US.
Food was good, not PARIS but good
Baguette with beurre would be nice
We love the lively atmosphere and dependably good food. Fun for a couple or a group - a French bistro experience in northern VA.
In beginning waiter was distracted and service was not good. He got better as the evening went along.
I want to know why my reservation did not earn points. The maitre’de was very surprised at that!!
I took my friend here for her birthday last night and had a FABULOUS time! The food, wine, and ambience was perfect! The service was superb too! I highly recommend and I will be back!
Have been here a couple times and both times the food was pretty good but service could improve. The service is lacking and not what you would expect at a French restaurant
The service here is so good/ we were welcomed at the door by a gentleman and escorted to our table. They provided a high chair for the toddler at out table which they cleaned before us.
I think Bibb/Boston salad was dressed too soon, with more tarragon this time than last-It arrived limp. Otherwise, salmon was delicious, as were the steak and hamburger.
Our waitress was lovely, and accommodating with a sense of humor. She treated the toddler at our table very nicely!
I love this place!!
The food, wine, and service were all excellent. Parking is convenient, with a free parking garage just across the alley. As the name suggests, the menu is French-leaning, and has just the right amount of choices, and variety, in my opinion. There are daily specials (one of which I had, the "jambone," ham roasted on the bone, very tender and delicious). The restaurant's decor is lovely, and the dining room is spacious.
The food was good. We ordered the house salad and escargot as appetizers. The salad was large. Alot of lettuce on the plate but the herbs made it pop. It got more interesting with every bite. Entrees included steak-frites, Trout grenobloise and the omelet. The strip steak portion was quite generous. We were able to box up half of it. The fingerling potatoes and carrots with the trout were quite tasty. Nice size serving of tender trout. I would order again. Classic french bistro menu and atmosphere. The first serving of still water was quite warm. We had to ask for ice twice before it got to the table. Service was a little slow. Not sure if that was due to the holiday or covid labor shortages. There was no bread for the table which seemed like a miss. I would return.
Great food, glad to see that beautiful restaurant up and running again in the lovely Mosaic.
Bartenders, wait staff all so attentive, witty, and pleasant. Sister was visiting from out of town and they made her dining experience special.
Excellent experience food was delicious! We’ll be back!
Michael was a fantastic server. Very knowledgeable of the menu.
Diamond waited do on us. He was exceptional. Food was so good.
Great Cocktails and dinner
Even though we had a reservation and the place was virtually empty (4:45pm), the maitre d insisted on sitting us at a horrible table. Tip: Don’t bother arguing with her since she’s incompetent and has bitter attitude. Just talk to the manager.
Lovely girlfriend lunch date on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Several small plates to choose from and excellent French onion soup so filling that we did not have room for the 2 appetizers also ordered. Delicious looking plates passed by going to other diners and we vowed repeatedly to return with a larger party to enjoy apps and drinks one day (when Covid 19 calms itself down)! We will return!
The entire experience was fabulous. Shared the paté to start and then had the braised short ribs and that dish was to die for. Didn’t leave a speck on the plate. Will 100% be back and can’t wait to try more of the menu.
Great service and delicious dinner. Our first time here. Hoping to get one of the comfier tables next time. Great find!!
