Dinner: Sunday - Saturday: 5:00pm - 10:00pm
Well the food was meh. Everything about the food, flavor, spice etc was toned down.
Some of it is way over priced.
18$ for a biriyani?? Comeon!!
And even the qaunity is average.
Food was pretty good. It was mild but we could have asked for spicier.
Great food, excellent service! So convenient right downtown.
We really needed some spicy food after a long and fun filled night on the town the day before. We wanted Indian and something close to where we were staying at the Driskill. This little place fit the ticket. The service is spot on and it is very clean and delicious. We had eggplant, spicy chicken, and a potato pancake. Beer choices were adequate and our waiter was pleasant and efficient. We would return for another quiet, peaceful and enjoyable meal.
We finally made it to Pappadom and it was a great experience. The space is fairly small and well decorated and comfortable. We had the chicken tikka masala, lamb chops and curry vegetables. All were excellent with a nice amount of spice. We will definitley repeat the experience.
We had a good time overall. Took the lunch buffet, which was good!
Food and service was excellent. Will definitely be back!
This restaurant was a great find! Loved the ambience and the food.
It was Valentine's on a weekday, so not too busy. They may have been shorthanded because service did take longer than expected. The food came out quickly when ordered, but any request did take some extra time. Very polite staff. Food was very tasty and good (veggie samosas and the meal for two entrée) except for the calamari appetizer (probably our fault for trying it. The mango cheesecake was half frozen but really good taste... I definitely will return to try other entrée items.
The service is excellent and there is no rush as you are allowed to linger as long as you want. The food is excellent, and it is always a quiet friendly environment. This is getting to be one of our favorites, especaially for Indian food.
Positives : chicken tikka Marsala and saag paneer were very good as was the naan bread.
Negatives : veg biryani was very spicy and the dal makhani was so spicy we could not eat it.
Also negative : no alcohol license yet. So no G&T or beer - both of which can be very good with Indian cuisine.
Nothing fancy but good Indian food.
Had a great dinner with friends. Chicken marsela was amazing as was the eggplant dish. Chicken was tendor and sauce perfect blend. Eggplant had multple dimensions of flavor.
Spinich dish ans lentles were the least favorite falling victim to the much tastier other entres.
Nan was good, not anyrhing special.
Pricier than most indian places, not sure we will go back unless for lunch specials.
Their food is so so good. We totally enjoyed it at the restaurant and back at the hotel 😁
The overall ambiance was nice and the restaurant was quiet, but the food was just okay. Our curry and rack of lamb came out with no rice and was cold by the time we got some. We ordered veg biryani and got chicken (barely warm). We ordered the Kashmiri nan and received the onion kulcha - it was nice but not what we ordered. We wanted to try something new, but will return to our tried & true faves and will pass on Papadom in the future.
This was our first visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our food. Varied menu choices, everything well prepared. Nice decor, pleasant ambiance.
Loved the kofta I ordered. My friend ordered chicken biryani and liked it too! Nice ambience, quiet with downtown austin charm
Always the best!
Great food! Nice quiet space.
Pretty boring to be honest. We're used to indian food in Houston, where the standard is much higher.
Horderve and desert were tasty, but mains were underwhelming. We ordered a lamb curry which was first brought out as chicken curry, then replaced with what was clearly a mutton curry (no mistaking mutton for lamb in taste or texture). They needed at least 2 more servers to provide good service, so we spent plenty of time waiting for them to stop by our table. Fortunately we were in no hurry. They were responsive and friendly when serving us however. Not a terrible experience, but we won’t be returning here. Plenty of other better experiences to be had, both in quality of food and service level. Disappointing sums up our dinner.
Food was excellent. Tasty and light. Lots go Veggie options and spot on flavor.
The owner wore all hats-bartending, hosting, and server. Therefore, we had bad service and felt unattended all evening. It took over 15 minutes to get our signed bill back.
My friend and I were dining before Sinbad at The Moody. We were looking for something different and close by the theater. We were pleasantly pleased. The decor is very nice. Very helpful staff and the food was delicious and abundant!! We will definitely be returning!
Great food and service. Best Indian food in Austin!
Really good food. Huge choice of vegan and vegetarian menu options. Lots of seafood options, too, which is hard to find in Austin. Everything we had was great. Had 3 entrees for 2 people and it was more than enough food. This place was not very busy on a Saturday night. Hope people visit, so it stays in business.
We happened upon this incredible find of a restaurant when our original dinner reservations fell through. My husband and I ADORE Indian cuisine and it was within walking distance of our hotel and our later night evening plans. We left after our meal feeling grateful that our first plan hadn't come to fruition. HIGHLY recommend the food, ambiance, specialty cocktails, and informative staff. This place is a MUST!
Very good- large portions with excellent service
This is a fabulous find! The food was great and the service was as well.
We will be back!
Love how their menu clearly indicates which entrees are vegan!!! The food and service was amazing! I am definitely adding this to my list of fav restaurants in Austin.
Great service and very flavorful food. I had the chana masala and aloo gobi and both were authentic and seasoned to perfection.
Great find! Food is fantastic!!
Excellent food. Excellent cocktails. Excellent service. View of the street out the front windows is great!
Papadom is in my top 5 best restaurants in Austin (and I'm a native Austinite!).
The service is always great and the food never disappoints. We've dined here 5+ times and the staff is always super attentive and every dish is 👌👌👌. Consistency pays off! SO GOOD.
This is THE place to go for Indian food in Austin. You won't be disappointed!
We ordered paneer tikka masala and they served us Chicken tikka masala instead. We are all pure vegetarians and its unacceptable when restaurants don't respect our dietary restrictions. Very disappointed. They gave a 10% discount which I feel is too less to compensate the error that they made!
Went for dinner on a quiet Thursday - apparently it's busier for the lunch buffet. Everything we had was delicious and the service was great. So glad to have good Indian in the neighborhood!
This was an interesting experience. The restaurant was nearly empty so we had very good service, despite it being on a Friday night. We enjoyed the food a lot, and the waitstaff was really helpful since we didn't quite know what all of the menu items were, and they explained the spice level for us so we ended up with exactly what we wanted. Hopefully this place gets more attention (and customers)
Everything was fresh and tasty. I would repeat. The lamb vindaloo was particularly good.
Food was excellent. Service was prompt. The waiter seemed a little inexperienced but overall experience was excellent.
