Awesome spot, we sat at the courtyard which was beautiful. The food was really good and so were the drinks. Great service 5*
The food - drinks - service are all top notch- we came twice while we were on the island. Delicious!
The food was simply amazing!!! Much credit to Chef Lee Anne. Definitely our new Maui favorite. The wait staff were so courteous and kind. Love the courtyard in the historic Pioneer Inn. Great low key ambiance.
Susan was our server and was amazing. She kept saying she loves having people visit and went above and beyond with our group. We were 10 people with 5 kids and she was amazing.
Love, love, love this restaurant!
Menu is wonderful, flavors all amazing! So tough to choose what to eat. We ordered an extra French toast to share on the table.
Love this restaurant! We ordered ramen, watermelon salad, French toast and coffee cake. The soup for the ramen was amazing; one of the best we’ve had and we’ve had a lot of bowls. A lot of depth to the flavor, more than just soy. The watermelon salad with jalapeño was surprisingly good. Added a right amount of kick (don’t eat the seeds!). French toast was definitely one of the best we’ve had. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside soaked with goodness. Lastly the coffee cake was not overly sweet but had the right amount of lilikoi.
We sat in their courtyard under (what seemed like) 100+Year old trees. Restored the life and history of the Pioneer Inn while renovating it to modern times and decor. Would come back on the weekly basis if we lived here.
The food was fabulous and the ambiance is such a fun old Hawaiian vibe!
The breakfast ramen and French toast were delicious! Highly recommend them!
Lovely outside courtyard and great food.
Awesome food in a really cool historic building. Highly recommend! One of the best meals we had in Lahaina.
Wonderful setting. Ask for the courtyard. Food was very good, though somewhat limited. If you like breakfast then it would be perfect. Drinks were flavorful and colorful. Saw families, new parents and romantic couples here. Highly recommend.
Very fun place and great location. We ate in the courtyard and our server, Keegan, was delightful. His bubbly personality made it a memorable occasion.
Food was delicious! Our server Heidi was wonderful!
I was there with a group of 11 for a family reunion. We had to make two separate reservations due to the reservation amount limit, yet restaurant was very accommodating and joined our two tables together. Great patio atmosphere and wonderful food. We will return.
This place is such a gem. Everything we had was amazing! We had: Crispy Ramen, Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Hoisin Pork bowl, Dragon Bowl. We loved everything- probably our best meal in Maui. Go there!
The food and service was top notch! We had an amazing Brunch.
MAC Pancakes have gotten smaller. Still delicious, but pricey for the quantity.
Great food! Great ambience! We found a new place to eat at while in Maui!
This is at a best western, not what I was expecting.
Great food, sat in courtyard it was great! Service was good just slow but so is everything in Maui
As usual the service and staff were wonderful. The first time I had smashed potatoes, they were excellent. The next two times I wasn't so impressed. The second time, my wife tried a bite and said they tasted like overdone baked potatoes that needed salt, butter and sour cream. Overall, loved every experience.
Tables outside are under cover and along the street that leads to the harbor. They are nice, but... "inside" tables in the open air interior courtyard with a gazebo, sitting under a canopy of mango trees are betterl!!! Great for happy conversation or a business lunch. This is the only restaurant in town with so much fresh air dining!
Papa'aina at Pioneer Inn menu is a level up from pre covid days. The eggplant salad is amazing. No lettuce--fresh Maui grown eggplant is center stage, lightly grilled, topped with tasty kimchee and small dolops of freshly made mayonnaise. Nothing left to take home. We ordered a side of sourdough toast--a perfect side for this dish.
Service by Emil was attentive with aloha. So happy we chose to celebrate at Pioneer Inn.
Delicious French toast
Wonderful, nothing like oysters on the half shell for breakfast. Hubby enjoyed his ham and eggs. We would recommend this to anyone coming to Maui. Mahola!
Great Hawaiian breakfast. Love the fruit plate with an array of tropical fruits. Wish they were labeled! 🥰
Food was excellent. We had the watermelon salad and the beef luau. Service was friendly, fast and efficient. Was a bit noisy due to the construction nearby, but I’m sure that would be only temporary.
The food was excellent! My son had the Keiki ramen, and my daughter had the Breakfast Ramen. I had the Dutch Baby which was delicious!
The breakfast ramen was INCREDIBLE! Would return again and again.
Crispy ramen is DELICIOUS!
We had a lovely family meal here. The food was delicious, the service was warm and welcoming, and the outdoor patio was a lovely setting. I would highly recommend!
Stumbled upon this gem by pure accident. In the hustle and busy front street shopping. papa’aina sits on the back half of the pioneer inn. The restaurant was quiet and dining area was decorated with a old time nautical theme. We sat in the back court yard. As you enter the back patio you are welcomed by the shade of the beautiful Banyon trees on adorable white table and chairs. We were seated in the gazebo. From the moment we walked in we felt comfy and welcomed. Out party had a several different plates from the Poke bowl, the patty melt. The breakfast burger, the smash burger, the fried egg plant and the bacon fig toast and lastly the French toast. Every single dish was delivered Delicious. Stop by and visit this special spot and if your lucky you’ll get to chat with Chef Leanne. She took time from her schedule to pose for a picture and chat with us.
Had the crispy ramen (nice blend of flavors and textures), poke bowl, kanpachi collar, and smash burger. Food was great, service was very helpful and friendly (gave spot-on recommendations), and the setting in the courtyard was so pleasant.
This was a really fun place for brunch. We sat in their beautiful courtyard which had birds and a cat, that the kids really enjoyed. The guava and mango mimosa were refreshing. Our waiter was so great and accommodating. The food was pretty good. Fish benedict was our most favorite. Fish was fresh, eggs poached nicely, with greens and potatoes on the side. Mac pancakes with lilikoi coconut sauce was yummy if you don't mind a sour sweet topping. Pricy at $20. They were kind enough to make plain pancakes for my son which he really really liked. The French toast had a nice texture with the crispy coconut coating, but ask for the condensed milk sauce on the side as it's VERY VERY sweet, especially when combined with the maple sweet billionaires bacon. Also tell them to skip the whipped topping, or put it on the side, as it mixed in with the billionaires bacon, which was not tasty. I wouldn't recommend this French toast for kids and would just get one order of plain pancakes (4 total) for two kids to share. Overall, would come again for a nice brunch.
Keenan was our server. He was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and made the experience so memorable. We loved the food! The seating outside was peaceful and beautiful. We’ve visited Lahaina many times but always ate at the same places. We tried this place out and will for sure go back every visit. There were so many Unique meals to choose from so we actually ordered extra meals so we could try everything. Amazing experience!!! Thanks.
Girls day out for brunch!
We opted for out door seating and we’re truly happy with our choice, such a beautiful courtyard inside the Pioneer Hotel.
Papa’iana, breakfast selection was phenomenal.
Corn flake crusted French toast, maple bacon. Mac Nut pancakes. Bacon/eggs Dutch baby. Fish Benedict’s (Fresh Sword fish) and a Poke bowl (fresh Ahi) to go…
Absolutely amazing well done again, to Chef Lee Anne Wong, Papa’iana is a gem.
A wonderfully relaxed brunch with amazing food and great, friendly service. Sit in the shade of the interior courtyard lined with trees, a quaint gazebo, and the sounds of tropical birds. Fresh ahi poke, pork soba, ahi belly, and beignets were really tasty. You can skip lunch after this. Afterwards, walk off your meal and exploring Lahaina. Don't miss it!
The most amazing Macnut pancakes and French Toast! Tropical fruit plate was beautiful and delicious.
Service was pleasant and the food was good.
We had a breakfast reservation and they were ready for us and seated us promptly. The food we had was unique, good and flavorful. But pricey! A muffin (standard size) for $5? Most breakfast entrees were $16-24 each. That seems like a lot of money to pay for breakfast.
