Panya has been my go to restaurant when in the Ward area. We have always enjoyed their food. Last night was a bit disappointing. They were out of a few items (including one featured dish) on the menu but the host or waiter did not mention anything to us. We found out When someone in our party tried to order the featured item; we were then told it’s no longer being served! Then our friend went through the menu in detail and selected another fish. She was then told that dish was not available either. Understand that items could be out at times but guests should be told upfront what’s not available so we don’t waste time combing through the menu!! All the dishes we did get were ok but not as good as before. Same with our Lychee martinis. They were much too cloudy with lychee pulp and not served cold enough.
We will think twice about returning anytime soon.
The food was ok but the table smelt terrible. If you know what I mean by sour rag smell then you know what the smell was from the table
Great menu variety.
Appreciate the safe access protocols followed.
This time I had the Panya burger. Totally recommend it as it came with a hearty dose of french fries!
Food took too long. Had to flag the waitress to asked why my food was taking so long. Food was bland.
Wonderful outdoor seating. Food and service were great!
Perfect place to catchup with friends
Very pleasant experience. We had salads which were very filling.
Our Go To place when in HNL…staff are always helpful and willing to answer all your requests…if they can make it happen , they will !!
Great food at reasonable price! One of my favorite places for lunch.
Pleasant service, great table and wonderful food.
Service was slow… but food was great!
Ordered fish and chips with extra crispy chips, but they were not crispy. Also ordered the vegetarian sandwich, and was disappointed at the few vegetables that were included, and the bread didn't seem too fresh. I've been more impressed with the food on other visits oh, so we'll try different items next time.
I think the pandemic and spacing at the restaurant caused service issues that day. Other from that, I would go back!
Service was okay, the server did help with suggestions and came to check up on us. It was my mom's birthday, and we wanted to get desserts, but wasn't offered any. We got the chicken wings for app, ginger chicken, pad thai and laksa for our entrees. I would not recommend the laksa, the taste wasn't authentic and left me drinking so much water afterwards.
There was a wide selection of menu items, and everyone at our table was very pleased with the food. The desserts were also really good.
Food was good as usual. Our waitress and the hostess were very nice but the woman who took our dessert order and brought it to our table never smiled and acted like we were an inconvenience. Surprising, because my friends and I was gone to Panya numerous times over the years and have never encountered that kind of service.
Good food and service.
Happy hour prices went up. A lot. Basically regular price now.
Our reservations were for outdoor seating fro a party of eight. Glad they could accommodate and entrees were good. Appetizers were also tasty. Will definitely go back and ask for outdoor seating.
We went there for their Spicy Salmon bowl, the best!
Did get one of them but decided on the tofu plate and the Blanched Romaine. That romaince was DELISH! It was accompanied by a chili type sauce that really made it. Will definitely have that again!!
Getting harder and harder to decide what my favorite is.
Our server didn't give us his name but he did say that he was "in training". He did a wonderful job.
We arrived 5 minutes before reservation time. Seated at the table outside. 4 People ordered. 1 person had to wait 30 minutes for their food. With the delay of 4th person's food, waitress came by to let us know we have 5 minutes then need to leave as there's other people waiting for table. Informed waitress, 4th person had to wait 30 minutes for their food. I've never experienced bad service from your restaurant. I invited clients to lunch and they were not happy. Very unfortunate, there was no apologies about food being delayed for 30 minutes. Did not feel any compassion.
Staff friendly, helpful and professional. Goes over and above with Covid-19 protective measures. Very good food and beverage selection.
The food was generally good but my husband's breaded pork chops was actually sweet, which it shouldn't have been. The desserts were very very sweet, but maybe most people prefer it that way. I love setting, being able to comfortably dine outside. Service was great.
We had reservations for two but they gave our table away. Fortunately there was a table reaching their time limit but it’s still a bad move to give away a table for customers. Service once seated was attentive and good and food was the normal high quality. I had requested my beef noodle soup to be spicy. I was told it was spicy standard but the standard is not spicy at all to me so demerits in service for that too.
Used to be my go-to place for great meal. Disappointed with visit this Saturday for my birthday lunch.
Noodles were overcooked and mushy. Meatballs were too chewy and had an artificial taste to them.
However, my husband's pork chop over fried rice was very good.
We have been dining at Panya for at least 4 yrs. Our primary home is on the North Shore and always returns due to their friendliness, accommodating to our needs, and one will always find a dish on the menu to suit your palate.
They said I did not have a reservation with them even though I did. They could not accommodate us.
Good for quiet conversation, and nice happy hour. I sat outside from around 3:15pm, and it got a little hot around 5pm--even with the sunshades lowered 3/4, the sun hit our feet (we were sitting closest to the building.
Friendly personable service.
Extensive menu, the five of us ate family style and was able to an assortment of foods and everything was very delicious.
Probably my most favorite restaurant in the state. The laksa is amazing!
When I made my reservation for lunch for one, I purposely requested a table inside and I believed that that option was confirmed. When I got to the restaurant to check in, I was told that only outdoor seating or the bar seating was available for me.
The tables outdoors are very large and can fit a large number of guests. As I was by myself, I opted to eat at the bar. However, I'm not a fan of bar seating since I'm very short and have a difficult time getting up on the chairs and having my feet dangle while eating.
The only reason I confirmed my reservation at this restaurant was really because I thought I was guaranteed indoor table seating.
I used to be a regular, but I'm sad to say that this is another restaurant victim of COVID. The food has gone downhill, and so has the service. Although there were at least 4 waitstaff, just getting water at the table took 15 minutes. The summer rolls were good. But the miso ramen tasted like feet, and the noodles were totally soggy. I don't think I'll be going back.
The Panya Bistro website said their Happy Hours were All Day. It was a lie. We honored our 4:30pm reservations but got no discount on the alcoholic drinks. Food was good; not exceptional.
Small group of classmates getting together.
Due to Covid concerns this location offering outdoor (covered yet not enclosed) seating was ideal.
Our server was great and when asked offered great menu suggestions.
