Absolutely perfect meal. Love going to Palladio for a special meal. Wine pairings were awesome. Food excellent as always.
Perfect food for a winter's lunch! Excellent service!
I think the portion are small and the price high.
It is good but not a great value.
There was a wedding concurrently and service was a little slow . Overall, it was a good experience and the food is very good. Staff knowledgeable about wine pairings and I’m a California wine person. The Sangiovese was excellent.
Always a great experience! Beautiful restaurant, amazing service and outstanding cuisine.
We live in South Carolina and when visiting friends in Charlottesville, we always try to have lunch at Palladio. We love the food, ambiance and wine.
Excellent choice for date night or special occasion. The restaurant features strong wine choices from the vineyard. The risotto was outstanding! Though the restaurant was busy, and some tables were having animated conversation, the noise level was moderate. This was a relief, after experiencing a number of meals where we had to shout over the noise.
Upscale and classy restaurant, yet it feels stuffy and not very welcoming. The staff is efficient yet not welcoming. They welcome you with a glass of complimentary bubbles, a good one. The portions are small. The prices are high even for lunch. The food is high quality, well made, yet just average outcome. The bread and olives plate is good.
This is a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion.
We have been enjoying for many years, we enjoy the food and wine along with great dinning experience, it is so nice being take care of by professional staff.
Always excellent food, wine, and service. Wonderful vineyard experience as well. Highly recommended.
Nice small intimate setting. Bread served needed to be warmed, not cold! My salad had no dressing so was tasteless. Spinach pasta was very bland. Needed some meat & veggies. For $ 145 meal was a disappointment. Food was marginal & small portions. Excellent service.
Excellent service (as always) from Mark and his team. My only comment (negative) is the lamb chop entree was a bit pricy at $33 for only two chops.
Absolutely the most exquisite Italian meal in Virginia! Well worth the drive.
Love this restaurant. Have been coming for many years for lunch and on many occasions for dinner. The food is always magnificent. This visit we arrived early and watched the Chef come out to the herb garden to gather fresh cut herbs for lunch. One of my dishes had them and it made all the difference. Service is excellent.
This place is very special and is one of our favourite restaurants anywhere in the US! In fact, it feels like fine dining in Europe! Kudos to the kitchen and to the service staff. This place is well worth driving well out of the way for (and those in the know do!) and it’s even better when paired with an overnight stay!!!
Inadequate, inaccurate menu descriptions. If I had known the seafood entree had a tomato sauce, I would not have ordered it. Waiter never checked back, so was never able to get a replacement. Waiter forgot to enter side (vegetable) order, so delivery delayed. Very expensive. At this level, mistakes are not easy to forgive.
Very nice evening. Good food, good wine, and pleasant atmosphere.
We are regular patrons of Palladio, and make it a point to dine there at least once a quarter (when they change menus). Always something new and interesting, the preparation and presentation never disappoints. The waitstaff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. This is our favorite local restaurant.
My friend and I were 12 minutes late for our 2pm reservation so we called to confirm we were still welcome and the host was sooo sweet and made sure we felt welcome. We came and ate light + enjoyed octagon wine. We had mussels and split the truffle orzo due to having a dinner reservation at 6pm. Both were delicious. I gave a 4 star because a server that was not ours came by around 3:15 to make sure we were done and made us feel pushed out. I understand they were preparing for dinner reservations but we didn’t see any of the other tables being pushed out. Maybe due to how much they spent? Our food we had asked to be boxed up was sitting by the door waiting for us. It felt a little uncomfortable and offset my evening a bit.
Outstanding, expensive and worth it. Their Event Manager was very helpful.
The Barboursville Wine was superlative. The food was good, only the lamb chops were considered "fine". The wait staff seemed to have to much to do to provide the service that had expected.
Great food and lovely atmosphere. Still a great day out for lunch. We miss the Prix Fixe tasting menu which used to be a real highlight, but they still have recommended wine pairings. We were also a little sad that the wine tasting next door is now an auto-serve system with no discussion with an expert, which we understand they needed to put in for Covid. But they have lost the atmosphere of having an actual person talk you through the wines. Perhaps they will reconsider this after Covid.
I just loved my dinner at Palladio. The place is beautiful and the scenery so peaceful and magical. The food was outstanding, the best risotto so far in the US. I strongly recommend it.
Food was great. But while the tiramisu was very good, I was quite surprised on the presentation of being in a glass jar versus being plated.
Wonderful food and professional service. Risotto and mussels were outstanding. the complimentary lobster bisque was a great blend of flavors. Appreciated that the cookies and truffles arrived on a plate with Happy Birthday spelled out in chocolate for my husband. Staff hit just the right balance of friendliness and efficient service. Although the dining room we were in was relatively small and almost full, it was never too noisy. And of course we enjoyed the Barboursville wines.
Thought we’d have lunch at Palladio while at the vineyard. Ordered scallop and lobster medallions. Expected to get a thin scallop and a piece of lobster meat. What we got were three very small what appeared to be crab cakes in texture and taste. Over $120 just for lunch. Nice place and good service, but over priced for what you get. Don’t think we will be eating there again.
The food and atmosphere are excellent. The only downside is the fact that you are paying 2x the price for a bottle of wine than you would if you bought it next door at the winery tasting room.
My wife and I had gone here for her birthday and they did acknowledge it at the end of the evening with a plate of cookies and the notation of happy birthday. I had a pasta dish to start off the evening which was really good, however, the main entree of scallops and lobster was misleading and only so so. My wife started off with the mussels and had some sand in the dish. She also had the same scallops and lobster dish. Our waiter was not very attentive either.
Another wonderful experience at Palladio. I hadn't been for a few years and I am happy to say that the superb food, lovely atmosphere and impeccable service is still the best! A meal here is like a mini vacation and worth the drive and expense. Looking forward to the next time.
Wonderful meal - the quality of the ingredients and the presentation of the food was
wonderful. Lots of choices. With wine pairings. Very very professional kind caring service. We have never been disappointed at Palladio and we have been visiting it for years. In fact, it keeps getting better!
Wonderful special occasion restaurant. Food and service were both outstanding. Surprising, though, that wine prices by the bottle were double those at the winery. The prix fixe menu is no longer available which provides the option to try different wines with each course if desired.
Always go here for a special lunch or dinner and it surpasses our high expectations. The food and wine pairings are perfect and so fun. PEI mussels with a glass of Fiano inspired us to buy a bottle of Fiano!
Service was very slow. Food was so-so. One does not receive an itemized ball after the meal. Only a slip of paper with a handwritten total. No way to check accuracy of the charges or what’s included.
Excellent experience. Wonderful food and outstanding service. A great choice for our anniversary.
Excellent service, food, and an amazing restaurant for a date!
Everything as expected. Top notch service, food and wine. Loved it.
Restaurant for a special occasion meal. Little surprised all male diners did not adhere to the " business causal" or better suggested dress code.
Make the lunch reservation, go hungry and enjoy! The food was excellent!
Food was delicious and wine complimented each course perfectly.
