Paesanos - Lincoln Heights
Food was outstanding, wine was pricey but good
We enjoyed our meal. Consistent high quality experience.
Awesome food and service and a great wine list, every one is very friendly and helpful.. we will be back
I just have a problem with a restaurant that just pretends to take reservations. Read their note when you make what you think is, and what is called, a reservation. All they commit to is they’ll move you to the front of the waiting list. I prefer restaurants where if you have an 8 res they actually have or at least make an effort to have a table at 8. Funny, the hottest restaurants in NYC don’t even pull this.
I brought 10 women in, most of which had not been before. Juan was our server and could not have been better. Very attentive without being pushy. Food as always was wonderful. We enjoyed it more than anything we did all weekend. A great experience
Awesome. Giant calamari is great.
shrimp paesano is unique....a must!.....large portions......good prices.....traditional Italian menu....so-so atmosphere; like a fancy cafeteria.....service was attentive, but too fast [we had barely finished our appetizers and the main course was served]….a definite repeat
Outstanding service and amazingly no cuisine. Always a great experience
The restaurant was packed. Once seated, we waited a long time before the waiter acknowledged us. We ordered wine, Caesar Salad, and shrimp paesano. After a while, a different waiter brought us house salads. We let them know that we ordered Ceasars. Then another waiter tried to bring us house salads which we turned back. Then a different waiter brought us our entree which we turned back because we didn’t have our salads yet. A third waiter then brought what she said was our Caesar salads. They had no croutons or cheese and tasted like oil & vinegar dressing. Next, our original waiter showed up with real Caesar salads wondering why we had house salads. Once we were done with the salads, it took forever to get our entree. The shrimp paesano itself was pretty good once we received it. After we finished, we probably sat there another 20-30 minutes before a different waiter came by to see if we needed anything. I asked where our waiter was and was told he was reassigned to the kitchen (I guess no one thought to tell us). We finally got the bill and were over charged. There were no apologies for the horrible service. This dinner was very disappointing.
We dined at Paesano’s on the Saturday after a Friday Valentines Day. The restaurant was mobbed by couples and families celebrating the day after the holiday. But here’s the thing: the young hostesses handled the onslaught calmly, cheerfully, and efficiently. Very impressive. Our OpenTable reservation was delayed but the circumstances were unusual.
The dining room was set up for a lot of couples so two-tops were jammed uncomfortably close together. Moving around was difficult, noise was high, and private conversation was impossible. Servers had some difficulty moving around and being understood too.
As always the food was great and service was admirable under the circumstances. But on this particular night the total experience was not ideal. We’ll go back ... on a less chaotic night.
Our meal took a long time but the manager came by to acknowledge and apologize. We thought that was very nice of the manager to stop by and let us know.
Service was awful! Tables crowded so close together you couldn’t have a private conversation. Took 20 minutes to even be served water. Ordered drinks and appetizer and another 20 minutes go by. Asked for bread several times and then appetizer comes out, don’t have time to enjoy it and they are trying to bring out salad and dinner at the same time. Excuse...it’s Valentines weekend. Sorry folks not an excuse and not my problem and Valentines was the day before! Then they want to bring that token we are so sorry dessert. No thanks. Then a $25 gift card which really why would I go back to a restaurant that is telling me I need to understand that they overbooked and under performed. Very very dissatisfied.
Valentine’s Day so it was packed and the tables were very close to one another. But that’s expected on a busy day like that!
Good food good atmosphere...a little busy but it was expected on valentine's day
Beautiful!! My husband and I loved it.
I made reservations so we wouldn't have to wait. But when we got there they were not going by reservations and just taking a list of names on a waitlist. Wound up waiting one hour for a table. Why make reservations if you're not going to honor them.
Over crowded. No communication between hostess’s. Reservations made in advance not honored.
Super overrated. Made a reservation a month in advance and still had to wait almost an hour to be seated. Also waited another 45 mins for our food.
This place has really gone down in quality and service. Our waiter was the worst waiter that I have ever encountered at any restaurant. Each time my wife and I had to flag him down to get any sort of service. In the end when we were ready to go again I had to flag him down to get the check and when he brought it over he had his back turned to us speaking with the table on the side of us and just layer the check down not even thanking us for coming. It took over 20 minutes for us to get our bottle of wine and when the wine steward came over he acted as if we were a bother maybe if I had ordered a $500 bottle he would have been nicer. Stay away from this place it’s horrible!!!
Service and food excellent especially on Valentine Evening
Went there for Valentines day. Seated upon arrival back in the corner which was not bad, then the waiter came (young man). He took the order and went through the motions of giving a good dining experience. It all was down hill from there. The dish I ordered was Black Linguini with shrimp. The linguini was bland and overcooked and there was no shrimp. Then my partners order was the chicken cannellini which she liked however there was no chicken in the dish. As a restaurant person myself its apparent that training is lacking at this place. The waiter took both orders in the back and came out with what may have been the same items just with the missing items this time. You are in a premium area charging premium dollars you need to give premium service.
This place is amazing. I have eaten here twice although I live in Ft Worth. Both experiences were spectacular!
We were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server greeted us quickly and was very pleasant. She was informative and timed out our courses perfectly. My date enjoyed her raspberry margarita and my wine was served perfectly on time with my appetizer and dinner to compliment each course perfectly. I am fine dining restaurant manager myself and have been in the industry for 32 years. Thanks for the great meal and service! I hope to be back soon.
Great service, food was delicious. I had the snapper ceviche and my friend had the shrimp paesano.
Food and wine always fabulous.
We had a great time! Service was impeccable.
Great time. Good food
First time here ever and it was amazing! Loved it and will go again!
We were celebrating my husbands birthday with our son daughter in law.
We arrived on time and were immediately shown to our table, situated in a quiter room.
Our waiter was outstanding, upbeat, knowledgable about the menu and special items. He was very attentive. .All in all a wonderful experience and we will return.
Last day of restaurant week which is not why we went. For an Italian restaurant the special was steak and shrimp with the special salad and desert. Fantastic!!!
Food is pretty average. Service is attentive but it is just a very average experience when you combine the food, ambience and value for money - there are better places to go
We were there for a birthday celebration. We were seated near the kitchen. Wait staff walking around us constantly A little too noisy for my liking. Would prefer a more quiet atmosphere to be able to hear each other at the table. Food was good. Wait staff was very good. Just to noisy.
Paesanos in the best Italian in San Antonio. Service and food are top notch.
Eddie V’s never disappoints!! Amazing food , & great service!
A madhouse with no regard for our reservation; waited 35 minutes after our reservation time, and we arrived 10 minutes early, so 45 minutes... They took walk-ups in front of us... Very LOUD and crowded... They walked additional tables in to accommodate more people and it just made things worse as you might imagine... Food was hit and miss , some really good, some very bad... It was so crowded you felt as though you were eating with the people on either side, and the waitstaff couldn’t help but bump into you... Bad experience!
