Pacifico - New Haven, CT
One of the best restaurants in New Haven! Plenty of gluten-free options. No matter what you order, the food is delicious! Amazing cocktails. The manager is very attentive as the rest of his team!
The menu looked great but our overall experience was disappointing. We were seated upstairs and it was freezing - you could literally feel the cold air coming through the windows. Our appetizers were promising - the salmon tartar was delicious. Then we waited and waited for the rest of the meal. Our waiter was clearly untrained, never making eye contact, and eventually came over after about 45 minutes to tell us it would be about another 5 minutes before the rest of our food came out. They weren't worth the wait - the octopus dish was missing the potatoes and the flavor was overpowered by the dressing. It has a nice vibe and an interesting menu, but they're going to have to step up their game to compete with all the other great choices available in the area.
We visited for dinner on a Saturday. The menu is comprised of small plates that are meant to share, which are wonderfully crafted. I recommend the baby back ribs and duck quesadilla, both were phenomenal. Rafat was our server and he also did a great job of guiding us through drink and food recommendations. Pacifico is awesome, I will be back!
Awesome place for a dinner with friends or date. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The tequila selection is perfect and the dishes are amazing! If you're not sure which tequila to order, the bartender will surely help you make the right choice (hint. There's no wrong choice). Definitely will visit again, saved in my favorite places list.
Our waiter was the best. Took the initiative to make it great. The food was outstanding.
I wish you that you offered Valet.
Came for Valentine's Day and it took over 20 minutes for the appetizers to arrive and over an hour for entrees. I ordered a filet mignon medium-well and when I cut into it it was nearly raw like it was just seared and cold inside so I had to send it back because it was inedible at that temperature. My girlfriend ordered the shrimp and scallops however from a place that takes pride in Latin cuisine it was severely under-seasoned. When I got my new steak it was a smaller portion than what I originally had. Makes me think that they can't cook a decent size portion to ordered temperature. The tres leches pound cake was a concept that I think sounds good in theory but was poorly executed in what the idea of a traditional tres leches is.
Very disappointed with the visit to Pacifico. The hostess/manager was not kind enough to get us a seat elsewhere because where she seated us felt isolated and in the middle of a stairway. Every time the waiters or others walked by, we felt someone was going to trip over us.
The server was kind and attentive initially and that faded right after the first drink was served. We were not asked for another drink nor were our water glasses refilled.
The food was a pre-fix menu and everything (appetizer to entree to dessert) lacked flavor, taste and most importantly the food was cold.
Very disappointed that I chose this restaurant to celebrate Valentine’s, nothing was memorable and worth coming back to.
Our food was delicious, our server was pleasant and the decoration was beautiful. The prix fixe menu for Valentine’s Day was reasonably priced and we appreciated the amount of food given for the cost. The only downside was that by the time we left the place was packed - quite closely! All-in-all we had a lovely anniversary dinner :)
The portions were a little small for the price, particularly the appetizers, but the food was delicious. Also the servers seemed a little confused as to which tables got which meals.
Zach, our server, was very attentive without being overbearing. He made excellent recommendations which turned out to be amazing choices. The wine selection was good and dessert (flan) was fabulous. We will most definitely be back.
Excellent service and meal. Very helpful wait staff regarding my food allergies.
Good spot, great dishes and the paella is one of my favorites!
Visited with some of my friends and had a good experience. This Latin American food restaurant is quite busy on any occasion. I loved the Octopus, the Ceviche and Fish Tacos because these are very much delicious, well-cooked, and yummy. Recommended for foodies around.
We were seated next to kitchen which was extremely loud with staff yelling to each other. I could not hear my partner most of the meal. Found came out very quickly , It was just ok. In the past I remember it to be outstanding so I was disappointed. Had to ask waiter 3 times to adjust the bill as were were over charged for house wine.
The food here is amazing, and the portion sizes are just right. I’m a huge fan of tapas, and pacifico does them right. Everything I’ve tried on the menu is so delicious, and I keep coming back. Great staff. Great food. I am a regular now (or at least want to be).
Comfortable space with great food choices. Small plates for sharing. Loved the gambas and anticuchos. Good wine selection as well.
We found the noise level too high for a conversation. The food was good and our server was friendly and capable.
It was a pleasant experience. It wasnt my first time but, the first time during lunch hours. The staff were amazing and the food delicious. I would definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone. I almost liked lunch better than dinner.
Great Restaurant- looking forward to going back soon.
Sat at a high top in the bar area with friends. Had some wonderful tapas and conversation. All staff was really nice. We will be back!
One of my favorite places for a date with my significant other or a fancy dinner with family and friends. Good drinks, good food, good portions. We usually get a few dishes to share so everyone can have a little taste of everything.
Loved the food.. great ceviche, delicious shrimp and scallops. Lots of other stuff we wanted to try but were too full to eat. Don't miss the cauliflower... we were ready to lick the plate. So good. Great staff and amazing cocktails!
I was really looking forward to dinner here for New Year’s Eve. The decor and ambiance is really good, and I felt at ease upon entering. Unfortunately, the food could be better. It is very hit and miss, and the flavor for much of the dishes we ordered was lacking. A bit overpriced for what you are getting in terms of portions and quality. We waited over 20 minutes for our dessert, and sort of wished we had left instead. Our server was very nice and my margarita was very good - definitely the high point of our experience (along with the chili dipping sauce.) Ultimately, the food needs more flavor and character to be memorable. The vegetable risotto was absolutely without flavor, unfortunately. I wish I could say I will return, but honestly can’t see myself doing so. A good place for getting drinks, though.
Been there before.. was disappointed that with a reservation, we were in what we called "the island of misfit tables" - an area where there really should not be tables.. where two tables were placed near bathroom in the middle of couches.
The food was alright. My salmon was delicious. The vegetable risotta was flavorless. Kale Salad was very good. It was new Years eve, so they had a paired down menu that wasnt that imaginative. I think it would be good non-holiday.. but Open Table did ask for my opinion.
Great place, good food, friendly staff. Took us quickly.
Really cool vibe, great food. We had some tapas, garlic shrimp were outstanding. Next time we will try paella. The bartender made us a special mojito, which was perfect. Great staff, wonderful food.
Me and my girlfriends favorite brunch spot in New Haven. Amazing food with a different take on breakfast classics. Service always top notch. Went recently for dinner and half of wine bottles on Sundays & Mondays night. Enjoyed the small plate selection and service was fantastic as usual. Highly recommend.
Pacifico never disappoints. We were seated, as requested, on the first floor. The service was attentive from the moment we entered. The menu and specials were appealing to every palate and preference.
Portions are generous without being overwhelming. We shared a delightful evening with friends, enhanced by the setting and the staff.
Simply amazing. Yucca fries, seafood paella, octopus cerviche, just exquisite.
The service was fantastically
Not a great night. Food was alright. Not a special night in any way though.
We love Pacifico! Great spot in the neighborhood for tapas and awesome drinks!
Pacifico was definitely an amazing dining experience. The food is amazing and the service was very attentive. They have a great selection of dishes, drinks, and desserts. The music pairs well with the environment. I will definitely be visiting this place again! This a great spot for a date or special occasion!
Great wholesome place for a great meal and environment. Not really the place if you're a vegetarian.
Seriously amazing duck quesadilla. Everything was delicious including the drinks, highly recommend the shrimp ceviche!!!
Fabulous as always! Delicious tapas and yummy sangrias!
The food and service are amazing!
Very welcoming atmosphere. Reasonable pricing. Delicious food and drinks. Friendly staff. I would definitely go back again. There is an upstairs as well as main level, so lots of seating.
I am here at New Haven for a Medicine Physicians conference and I had the opportunity to visit this amazing place. Excellent food and service. The staff was friendly and did a wonderful job. Walter the manager, did an excellent job and he was very nice. I absolutely recommend this place.
Fantastic experience, been a couple times. Our waiter Rafat was great!
