Waiter was very nice but did mess up an order for my aunt and she ate last as a result. The girl who took care of us for bowling was way overbooked and checked on us only once the whole time.

It was my husband’s surprise birthday and from prior visits, it was essentially my first choice. This is the first time where I found the service to be slow and unorganized. We were a group of 20- and it took us more than 2 hours to get everyone’s order and to close our checks. Our server was great and ultimately I believe they were short on staffing. We even signed up for the wait list for bowling and was told that it would be an hour and a half wait- and we stayed around for another 2 hours to play games and never even got called or notified. By that point, our party was over it and everyone headed home. Not recommended for big parties.

Service left much to be desired. One of the members of my party got soda that was flat and the exchanged soda was not even the same kind. Three of the meals were incorrectly made and sent back. It took them three tries to get the bill right! The first time they charged my party for the meals they sent back. The second time they added gratuity when it explicitly stated in the menu that it would be added for parties of 10 or more and we only had 9. The waitress lied to us and said that gratuity was added when it you had 9 people. I asked to see the manager. Another employee returned with corrected bills. I won’t be returning here to eat.

Met up with friends for post-work happy hour at Level 257.

Pros:
-Cool atmosphere: tons of old and new arcade games, and the latest stern pinball pinball machines. Bowling lanes and many TVs for watching games

-Happy hour: all regular drafts were $3-4 during their happy hour. Some appetizers were discounted

-Service: friendly hosts and servers. All staff were helpful and were able to point out items to avoid with certain food allergies

Cons:
-The food we ordered (BBQ nachos and Pizza) were awful and lacking flavor. I’d stick to drinks next time
-located next to/in Woodfield mall, so there were more kids than we anticipated in the arcade after 9-10PM

Went there with our daughter (8) for family date night. Good food (great portions too,) great lighting, plenty to do (for a cost though. $40 extra spent on a card for gaming.) Overall, awesome place for the once-in-a-while family night out. Will be going back to try out bowling.

I think this is a great place to come to after work/school to hang out with co-workers or friends. The food was pretty good and the prices were so-so. The portions are huge, so you definitely get what you pay for. The pizzas are pretty good.

Not the kind of place you would come to for lunch during the week.

Great service and good food. Too loud to have a decent conversation. Restaurant is right in the middle of the gaming area, only glass seperates them. No privacy, but lively and fun atmosphere for a group.

The place is good, loved the retro machines and price is ok, but the service needs serious improvements.
We asked for a couple of salmon salads with the dressing on the side since it's spicy. Well, the salads came with the dressing on it. We have it a try but my son couldn't handle it so we asked for another salmon salad with came without salmon.
I also ordered a steak. That was fine, I asked for A1 which never came. I also needed another fork, waitress nowhere to be seen so I ended up grabbing one from an empty table. Bad service overall, but the place is fine. Oh! There is nothing to drink but beer. Let's be real here, not everyone loves beer. I'm a hard licour drinker that settles for a good cocktail. Nothing on the menu.

Service was ok; waiter seemed distracted. Had to wait for him to return to ask for water, for the bill, about dessert. Was there for a birthday and made note of that at time of res but never had anyone acknowledge. Not attentive. Also, res was for 6pm. At 7, a band (located on the other side of restaurant) started playing so loud that we couldn't here each other speak. Way too noisy for 7pm. Will return, but only at lunch time and not for special occasion and hope it will be better service.

A lot of fun for all with a very good menu. Call it a "retro" arcade restaurant with bowling? A lot of older video games are available, some for as low as 25 cents a play (Pac-Man). Other games are more expensive, up to $1.50 or more (Claw). They even have pinball machines! Seems more kid friendly than say another arcade game restaurant. Bowling is fun with automatic scoring and bumpers programmed by the player (the 4 yr old had bumpers for his turn, they retracted when he was finished). Menu has a lot of options. Beware of some glitches in the games that make them hang. Staff is really good about fixing and then giving credit for time or games lost. Parking is plentiful in the mall lot.

I took my family there for my husband's birthday last week, and although we really enjoyed ourselves, there were a couple of minor issues.

My husband wanted to play some old-school arcade games, and we had a family group to celebrate his birthday. It's a lively place, and the bowling alley adds to the noise. Later in the evening, a live musician turned everything up another few decibels, but the music was really nice. Just be prepared for plenty of noise (it was a Friday night).

Overall, the food was pretty great. My lobster mac & cheese was really tasty, filling, and hearty, and my husband ate every bite of his salmon with BBQ sauce, pickled craisins, and arugula. The sandwiches seemed like a hit; two of our party had half a sandwich left to take home, so the portion size is ample.

Service wasn't as great. My mom has a dairy issue, so when we ordered the shrimp and mango flatbread as an appetizer (they call them 'shareables'), she explained her issue and asked for the cheese on the side. When it came, they brought a side of shredded cheese... but there was also cheese on the flatbread. The rest of the family ate the flatbread and enjoyed it, so we didn't complain, but my mom was disappointed, and the servers' communication is clearly not great. Still, I thought the mango chutney and shrimp were a yummy combination.

There were other service hiccups. Two salads arrived with the dressings switched. Soft drinks were refilled plentifully, but I was handed a diet coke and told it was a root beer, and vice versa for my husband. Perhaps the problem was that the server who took our orders was almost never the same person who brought the food and drinks. Last, the arcade games were fun, and that's what brought us here, but their communication on that also failed. My husband saw Donkey Kong there before but ran out of time to play, and this time a hostess assured him they had it 'somewhere', but he searched the place and couldn't find it.

Overall, good.

We came here with our three year old because we thought it would be a laid back atmosphere and have games to entertain her. We had pork nachos, southwestern steak salad and surf and turf. The only critique we have is that the nachos could have been warmer when they came out. Otherwise we were happy with the food overall. The hostesses, waitstaff and manager were all very polite, nice and accommodating. We played a quick game of bowling which was a lot of fun. Entertaining, upbeat, colorful, unique atmosphere with bowling and PacMan on giant screens.

This is the second time we got dinner there, the first time we celebrated my 18th son's birthday in june, it was great, the waiter was awsome, so attentive and fun.
He took us a picture, and he even gave us extra pack man cookies!! and the manager came to the table to ask if everything was good.
The second time, last week, we were celebrating my 7th daughter birthday, unfortunately, another person was our waitress, She was not attentive at all, it took forever to got our food and we had to ask another guy to help us to clean the table.
We honestly thought she went home! and the manager was not even around...
Very bad experience, we probably not going back.

surprised at what it is Did not expect bowling and kid friendly atmosphere. We had a wonderful waitress, Nicole, who made our stay comfortable. It is hard to find. Helpful,if your phone people to whom we spoke twice, mentioned that the 257 is in lights on the 2nd floor. Near Sears is not helpful since Sears is everywhere in that mall. Nice menu. Good service. We wd return w/kids, grandkids. Fun atmosphere.

Great variety of food. Went with our young adult children, and all enjoyed the food, drinks, and games. Life size Pac Man and old pac man games were a riot-reasonable prices for games. There were young kids birthday parties going on, and it looked like all ages were having a good time. Kind of a hidden location at the Woodfield Mall, but very worth seeking out.

My wife and I wanted to try some place different so we stopped in for a late dinner on a weeknight. I have driven past 257 many times at Woodfield, but never knew it was a restaurant. When we first walked in, there was a huge Lego build of Pac-Man from the movie Pixels. Getting up to the dinning level, the space was large and open with Pac-Man decor everywhere and free bowling is offered Mon-Thurs, which we will have to come back for.

The beer selection was good and they had a handful of daily specials. The appetizer was delicious. I don't recall the name but it was pepper jack cheese wrapped in flank steak and bacon. I ordered the Cubano sandwich for dinner. It was good, but a little dry. The fries were a little over-salted. My wife ordered the salmon salad and she said it was 'ok.'

Overall it was a good experience. Not a place I would frequent, but will definitely bring our teenagers back for lunch/dinner and bowling from time to time.

I reserved a table on this app noting a request for a booth. Upon arrival the hostess team made 3 separate attempts to seat us anywhere but a booth because the booths were for groups of 4 to 6. The restaurant was not busy and there were many open tables and booths. I distinctly said to the hostess there is a party of 2 over in that 6 top booth, I would prefer to be seated in a booth. With much resistance I was eventually lead to a booth right next to a both full of children as opposed to next yo the other booth with two adults. Once seated we were greeted several minutes later by our server, we could barely hear her speak to us. She seemed to become irritated when we didn't order alcoholic beverages but sprite & grenadine instead. Our adult sprites came out in KIDS cups! To just say the least the service from our server was awful, other members of the service team stepped in to help with getting us adult sized refills and clear our plates. Then to wrap up dinner our server brought our check and picked up payment quickly. She comes back for me to sign my credit card slip with a colored marker. My friend and both found this experience to be odd and have decided we will return to Level 257 because the food was good and the games offered were enticing. Advice for the service and hostess teams, be attentive to your guests provide an experience they will want to return for again and again.
