tempura Monterey baby squid with sansho salt, meyer lemon, chili-ponzu
Sushi rolls and Saki here are outstanding. We also tried tempura assortment which was so delicate and wagyu beef tastes amazing!
Very nice place
The food was over priced. I’ve had better sushi in hole in the wall restaurants. Service was inattentive and lackluster. I would not dine there again or recommend it.
Delicious food. Getting a bit cold sitting by the bay. Service excellent.
Ozumo is one of my favorite sushi spots in SF. The outdoor dining is great because it's right on Embarcadero, which makes for perfect people-watching. The food is always of high quality, and the servers are personable and knowledgeable, and make great recommendations. I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions, or casual dining- you will not be disappointed either way.
Felt safe during the meal and the staff catered to our small child. I was appreciative that the waiter turned to her to take her order and addressed her - it's so rare at restaurants. Outdoor seating was clean and live music was a treat!
Food looks and tastes amazing!
Great food. The service was not commensurate for the number of people
Food good. A little overdone on the covid precautions, however. There's a fine line between making customers feel like you value their business and making them feel like a dangerous burden (to health) that you have to deal with. Do you really need to take everyone's temperature and tell them to make sure their masks are on except while they're actually eating and drinking?
After a somewhat rude hostess telling us while showing us our table that “we had the table for 90 minutes”, everything else was a great experience with just amazing food and great service
The food, service and atmosphere were amazing!!!! Could not have asked for a better all around experience.
Ginnie our server was so sweet and amazing and the staff was great too. Food was on par!
I love the outdoor seating
We sat outside on the waterfront side to listen to some live music, which has so been missing from my life. We were told that we had to leave after 90 min before we sat down, and our waiter allowed us to stay a fair amount longer so that we could continue to enjoy sake and listen to music. The food was good - I really enjoyed the salad - but the rolls were a little underwhelming for the price. I would definitely revisit for another special occasion, but I don't know that I would rush to do so anytime soon.
Great time with live music from The Sam Chase. Service was excellent! All staff 5 stars!
Overall the sushi was not good tasting and the prices were very steep. The lobster in the shacho roll was chewy (there are only 4 rolls for $24) and the flavors and textures did not go well together. The avocado and salmon roll was the same as the $6 pack you can buy from Safeway. The hamachi roll was not memorable. Unfortunately we spent $130 and nothing was good. The outdoor space was nice but that’s about it.
It literally took half an hour before we were able to put in an order.
We came to enjoy as we prepared for the bittersweet event of our son flying to college the next day.
They warned us about a hard stop at 90 minutes. I assumed that might be ok. But didn’t think it would be real. We seldom go out and therefore like to take our time. They did not tell us it would take so much time to settle in, order drinks, get the drinks — which had to come with food, not on their own. So after that initial 45 minutes settle in period, we enjoyed the meal. There were a couple empty tables around so we felt no pressure. We wanted to order a round of Nigiri sushi and ramen but we had run out time! “Sorry we can’t take the order.” Seriously? We realized, ok, they did warn us. Man!? We were sipping the last of our wine , and the stern checkin counter lady came and told us that we really did need to go. Wow. My wife, who’s so understanding and rarely gets upset was flabbergasted.
This 90 minute rule eliminates the point of going out. I would imagine it averages out for them. Some may want to stay more. Others eat and go. The management should think of customers first, they are lucky to have so many outdoor seats and be operational.
Plus the app only menu sucks. For these prices, they should pay to get menus printed, albeit one time use.
Best date ever
We requested several times to be seated between heaters or move them closer to our table with no success...the rest of the experience was nice.
Professional, fast, courteous service. Food is amazing. Love the outdoor seating. Wife and I look forward to coming back again for night time dining.
Outside eating with a view of the ferry building and bridge was nice. Hamachi collar was terrific and tasted even better when I knew I had the last piece. Sitting outside with a great view attracted the boom box bikes, dirt bikes and hot rods who also saw us turned up the noise or the stunts to impress us. Employees are serious with PPE and I forgot my mask and ended up being supplied with one (at a price of $5 - which I think at their prices, should have been free). I felt very comfortable and content the the experience.
Hamachi collar, Sake, tea, edaname and tip $125...
The food was alright but not for the quality price ,!
Nor the 90 min limit, a manager came by and told us we had to leave soon,!
That was weird since tipped extremely good. Her kicking us out was not okay.
I will only go back for desserts
Awesome ! Nice birthday celebration by the water! Totally perfect!
Service was horrible. Also hostess was so rude and kept making everyone put their masks on after each bite. Do they not understand that spreads the virus even more? touching your face after each bite
They are covid compliant and have seating out on the embarcadero, which gives each table a view of the bay and bridge...it was just lovely and unexpected. The food as always was the freshest around, creatively prepared and delicious.....whats really nice about going there now (during SIP) is there is plenty of parking on the Stuart St side of bldg!
We loved it...hadnt been there in years and thrilled they can accommodate with outdoor seating, contact less ordering.....etc.
Food always great.. so pricey and service so off their game
Kind service, good food, magical ambiance
We had the best experience at Ozumo! What a great location and even better, the food is outstanding! Highly recommend
Outstanding view of the Bay Bridge while dining at night! Awesome food!
I don’t know if they were understaffed or just not in sync but the service was off. We are in the middle of appetizers on our table was already congested and they started bringing all of our entrées and we’re asking us to pile up plates… Of course we told Them to slow down and to give us a break. We asked him to please space out our next plates as it was uncomfortable and congested.
Outdoor seating was nice and great view of the bay bridge
They gave us the worst table by the entrance while having at least 5 other tables open even upon request. There’s also a dining limit 1.5h. Took very long to take our order even though restaurant was half empty and it was at 5pm on a Friday. Not coming back.
