Refined Japanese Revelry is about crafting an indulgent Japanese experience by balancing our obsession for seasonality and the artistry of not just great Japanese food but Japanese culinary culture. Ozumo was created over 19 years ago from a vision by our founder Jeremy Umland.

Mother’s Day celebration!
We were impressed with quality and freshness of the food, super quick service, attentive.
Professional service, you feel like a VIP from the moment you walk in. The food is so good, comes out hot (or cold depending on the dish), and the flavor is always consistent and delicious. You can’t go wrong with Ozumo!
Our table seemed to be “between waitstaff”. We were left unattended, until a lovely busboy offered us some tea. The waiter who finally came to us quickly noted the tea so he could add it to our bill. Then a succession of waiters came to take our order...Food, which was seasoned dominantly by soy/salt, was delivered haphazardly.
Brussels sprouts, cold sake, views of the Bay Bridge.
We loved eating dinner there. In fact we ate there twice. The food was delicious. Thank you.
Post-pandemic Ozumo is a major disappointment. Sushi was thinly cut, making was weak, service was poor.
Pre-pandemic was questionable, at best. It's not the same experience or quality.
Much better sushi elsewhere.
Great selection of sushi. The good and service were excellent
Great food, excelente service
Excellent service to go with an expensive glass of wine!
Thank you Zeon!
Everyone at Ozumo is just wonderful and they make your dining experience feel personalized.
Amazing dinner!! Great service
I highly recommend Ozumo. The food was amazing and perfectly prepared. Zeon was a pleasure and clearly an asset to his team. We sat outdoor on with a panoramic view of the Bay Bridge and the Embarcadero. We will be back again very soon!
Love love LOVE this place. Went with one of my girlfriends and our waiter was very sweet. He answered our questions and provided great service. This will be a regular for me now!
Too expensive for small portions
I haven’t been in years and it was as good as it always was...exceptional service and quality. Truly a memorable experience!
The only things a little disappointing was the 2 hours table time limit but they tell you that in advance
The sushi was good, but for the price, I expected better service. We were first to arrive with a reservation but were given a non ideal table with less of a view. No one took our drink orders ever. And our entrees arrived 15 minutes apart. I had thought I'd ordered a dish that came with Miso soup to match my friends, but it didn't come, so perhaps that was my error. But I'd expect a nice place to notice that asymmetric ordering and ask if you'd like to add. No one checked in. It didn't feel like a nice restaurant experience despite the price. I wouldn't return.
Go to the back and get a window. There is more space
This was our 1st time and it was awesome. Our waiter was very attentive
Food wasn't served hot enough. Multiple dishes had the same problem. Other than that, service was great, ambience was romantic, and the food was good, but would have been great if served a little hotter.
Good option, I expected more
Been here many times before . We were sitting in the back room which was very cold and terrible ambiance. Server was not good . Late to check in and took 15 minutes to get the check .
This was my go to sushi
If you like Japanese food this is the place to go. Excellent very fresh sushi and a varied menu.
This has been our go to sushi place for years and never disappoints.
Absolutely loved this restaurant. The staff's level of care for each detail, plus the outstanding food really make it one of the best dining experiences in SF. Price is high, but worth it as ever aspect of this experience makes sense.
We ate at Ozumo for the second time in 2021. The first time was for dessert outdoors in February and the second time was indoors in April.
The decor and ambiance was very lovely and clean and everyone is very welcoming upon arrival and leaving.
The food was very tasty and fresh. We ordered the most expensive sushi platter (Yokozuna), Shacho roll, Hamachi Maki Roll, Ebi Nigiri, Shime Sama Nigiri, Unagi Nigiri, Hakata Cheesecake, and our favorite dessert, the chocolate-chan dessert that we came back for!
Also I don't know why but the Sky Tower cocktail was literally the best cocktail I've ever had!
Our server Dean (he ended up being our server both times) was very friendly and kind to us.
Shout out to the BACK OF THE HOUSE TEAM as they are never acknowledged but work the hardest and they did a wonderful job and creating and providing a delicious meal.
Enjoyed an outdoor socially distanced dining experience at our favorite SF sushi spot. It did not disappoint and Dir. Luis Huerta went the extra mile to make it a special treat for my daughter .
