Good food, small portions, slightly expensive, could be better.

Been a loyal fan for a long time. Big disappointment this time.

Great job by Tia. Food was terrific, chicken soup, salad and guacamole.

Nancy our server was great. Menu is confusing and difficult to navigate but here’s to a great and fun venue. People were having fun and enjoying themselves. Thank you.

Our most recent experience with pre-theatre dining at Oyamel did not begin with a good impression. Although 5:30 pm Sunday is seldom considered prime-time for dining, the host area of the restaurant was mobbed when we arrived, and we were not seated for ten minutes. Once we were at a table, however, our service was quite good. As has been the case with our other dinners in recent years, the quality of dishes varies: the tuna ceviche was quite inspired, the pozole and guacamole that I've had on many prior visits were reliably satisfying, but two vegetable dishes we order, while good, were not at the same level as those I've had in the past two months at other nearby Jose Andres restaurants. This is also the sort of place where one is more likely to be satisfied ordering an extra margarita in lieu of the dessert selections, which are seemingly unchanging and not to my taste.

Be careful of reservations on Open Table. We had to wait 30 minutes from booking time until we got seated. Overbook a little. Food was very good. Ask for no ice in your margarita if you want any much of a drink. Mine was mostly taken up by ice.

I’m Mexican and I am always looking for authentic food in USA, the food is good, taste great but very overpriced.
The hosts no friendly but the servers are more helpful.
I will recommend.

Food was unexpectedly bad this night. Every dish with a sauce was overly salted. My entire table agreed on this. All we could taste was salt on every dish. Conveyed issue with wait staff. Wait staff didn’t see to care but said they told a chef about our feedback. I’m hoping this was a one off because other nights in the past were not like this. Drinks were great as always.

Oyamel needs to either increase their portion sizes or lower their prices. It is way too expensive for the food you get. Also, this especially holds true for the alcohol! I will gladly pay $13 for a margarita but it has to be larger than 7oz which is what they serve and it sucks. :/ we went to another bar afterwards to get real drinks.
Cool place but I won’t be going there again.
