Support Oyamel during COVID-19
Homeless person stole our food from our table, but management handled it well.
Great outdoor dinner on Saturday night. Promptly shown to seats on makeshift outdoor patio area. Service timely and very attentive from filling water glasses to helpful suggestions. Food was outstanding, particularly grilled octopus, grilled vegetable salad and deserts. Outdoor ambiance is not much but in these covid days having any outdoor dining is good. Will return soon.
The food was amazing.
Finger food - small portions but very good food.
Great as always! One of my favorite restaurants in DC. Never fails to impress
Delicious food with top notch service!
The food and service was fantastic. Since moving to the DMV area 3 year's ago, this is definitely one of the best places to have Mexican food. We highly recommend this place and will definitely plan to go back!
Oyamel was not its usual great self on Saturday. Service was not good. It took half an hour to get plates, repeated asking for things, and no one took our food order for almost an hour. The steak we got was really tough. The drinks were great per usual, but nothing really was a wow. For the price point, it wasn't so great.
Oyamel always has great food and great service! The restaurant has done a great job with COVID-19 protocols indoors and out.
Place is dirty, customer service very poor
Delicious food, wonderful service, and Covid safe!
Food was great. Portions slightly small for price. Signature drinks were amazing. Loved the atmosphere, fantastic.
Food was amazing!
Consistently safe, and good service. Awesome food in a good environment
Excellent food and service!! This is a treasure in DC
Absolutely amazing taste of the Mexican food. It really felt like a home cooking (I assume). We’ll be definitely back...
Thank you!
Aliza our sever was great also Allan restaurant manager he was very attentive and helpful
five stars for food everything was delicious
Thank you we had a great anniversary dinner
We felt very safe while dining. The tables were sanitized and spread out. Service was attentive but not overwhelming. The margaritas were top notch as were the dishes. We had queso fundido, and quesadillas that were very tasty. The chicken soup was good, but not the best I have ever had. The smaller plates are just right following an appetizer. We will be back!
Making a reservation thought we'd get a good table but were placed in the window by the coat rack right over the HVAC vent blowing over us. I was cold (it was raining and cold outside) and uncomfortable between the cold and uneven chair legs. Music was loud and couldn't hear waiter. Food was good but couldn't wait to leave. Trying to support local businesses but this experience was not a good one and hesitate to go back.
Nice dinner out! They do a great job with COVID precautions.
Food took way too long, but overall it was a nice experience.
Decor is really nice and colorful. A bit pricy for smaller sized portions of food, but still shareable with maybe 1-2 others. Some of the drinks were nice (mojito dorada and al gusto), others I wasn’t much of a fan of because of personal taste.
Excellent as always! Glad our favorite server was there, safe and healthy.
Love this place!
Brunch was delicious and well priced! I enjoyed the complimentary salsa and chips at the beginning, and then I ordered the chilaquiles and a blood orange mimosa. The chilaquiles were very good (though I would have preferred a salsa with more lime/acidity) and the mimosa was delicious- not too sweet, and a little spicy!
One of my long time favorite DC restaurants. Not too pricey. The staff are always so welcoming. Consider one of the soups- they are often interesting and more complex than you can prepare at home. - Plus a cocktail or two...
Good Variety, plenty of room, attentive service, reasonable prices.
Happy family time
Always a great experience! The food is creative and so delicious. Medium guacamole wasn't spicy at all though, will try the spicy next time.
Best Mezcal selection and knowledge in DC! Thank you Alan Grublauskas, Oyamel manager...look forward to our next discussion and tasting!
Service here is top notch here
The margaritas! Went for brunch for the first time in a year with a friend. Great COVID safety protocols with outdoor dining. Had a great time, excellent food, great staff, 10/10
What a friendly and safe team at the restaurant! Loved the spray of sanitizer for our hands tableside.
The food was delicious as always! From ceviche to tacos to chilaquiles, everything was great! Love the modern Mexican that isn’t the usual Tex Mex that pervades US Mexican cuisine
The atmosphere was great, not too loud and not too quiet. It was very clean and the food was good.
Wonderful atmosphere and great food!
Great food and service, have never been let down there.
Great
Guacamole was good but not worth $15
Great good
They were super friendly with our dog and amazing service!
The outdoor seating, under the tent was not optimal. I was nervous about oncoming traffic (since the tent was on the road) most of the meal. But the food and service were impeccable, per usual. I love the foot and the hostess was nice.
Our waiter was amazing and the food was delicious!
