    Chef Jose Andres is an international treasure of a Human. Oyamel is very good! The food and cocktails are excellent but the room feels like it’s in need of some updates.

    The food is hit and miss. The camarones de mojo and the arrachera were very good, especially the shrimp. The combination of flavors worked very well together in both. The arroz de primavera was not good. Not only was it a weird mix of seemingly canned veggies with rice, it was bland, which is a cardinal sin in and of itself. Additionally, even as someone who loves a good margarita, 16 dollars for a small margarita is way too expensive. The cafe de olla was a fantastic way to wrap up the meal.

    Great food, excellent service, convivial atmosphere but very noisy. Be prepared to have little or no conversation without shouting.

    It has been a while since I’ve seen such a unique menu. We enjoyed everything we ate/drank and are already planning our next visit!

    Very impressed with the food and service. We randomly stopped in on a Tuesday night, and pretty busy but able to get a table for five. Food came fast and delicious! It was very loud in there with music and talking, so keep that in mind. We would definitely go back!

    I may have been more impressed with Oyamel before I found more Mexican restaurants in the area. I think it has gone downhill some in the past 5 years. The ambience is great, but the service was lacking this time. Our water wasn’t refilled and we had finished all of our chips before any orders (including drinks) were taken. The chips don’t seem as fresh or homemade as they used to be, and the new blue corn tortillas were dry and didn’t taste great. The quesabirria is done better at more modest restaurants in the area. I used to default to Oyamel when in the area at dinner time but I won’t anymore.

    Everyone loved their food. We let our server know that we had 7:30 theatre tickets and we were served promptly with plenty of time to make it to the show.
