First time there since the new owners run it. (it has changed hands many time in the last few years) We were both pleasantly surprised by the staff and the great entrees. We had a great time and plan on coming back.
The food was very good but it was a bit pricey. We like the evniroment and will be back.
what was on brunch menu was changed last minute and home fries were not included per waitress, kinda cheesy to do that. Food was very good.
Wednesday night rib special
Was delicious
Will be back
Great place
Great family dinner. Great service. Kids loved their meal (came with a drink and ice cream). We will definitely go back!
My husband and I made ressies here for a Saturday night. It was a bit more crowded than I expected, but we had no issue being seated on time. The place is cozy and spacious. Seems to be frequented by a lot of regulars. We enjoyed our meals. We got the crab cake appetizer, and I got the fish & chips while my husband got the salmon burger special. We each had two cocktails. Service was painfully slow as it seemed like our waitress was handling both inside and outside tables. Overall not Ana’s experience.
Great place. Food is delicious, drinks too! Owner is present and so welcoming! Servers are very friendly!
Good service, good food, reasonable prices. We'll come back.
It is a great place to visit. I will definitely return and recommend it to my friends.
We went here when meeting a friend for lunch. I live in Fairfield County and she lives in Hartford area. This was the perfect half way spot. EXCELLENT FOOD! My only complaint is that it not closer to my home so I can go here all the time.
Food was overall very good. Family loved the teriyaki skewers. But the lobster bisque was quite thin. NY strip was perfectly cooked. The penne ala vodka was a great hit as was the chicken parm. Staff was accommodating to dietary restrictions.
Service was a bit slow...may not be the place for a quick bite.
Will definitely go back.
Food was great and service given was also friendly. Chili and the wings tasty and Highly recommend the Honey Garlic Salmon for the main dish
Great night out. Service was prompt. Food was good. Restaurant was clean. Food was pretty good overall.
The waitress was fantastic. My wife's food came out unlike it was described. I ordered teriyaki whiskey glazed ribs. The ribs were tender but it was just covered in BBQ sauce, no whiskey or teriyaki on the plate. I am assuming they are having chef issues. But the waitress was fantastic. She agreed with my wife Offered her something else then gave her desert with no charge and even paid for her drink. Mixed!!
We always drive pass the Oxford House Tavern and comment that we should try it. We finally did and realized that we should have done so sooner! It was just perfect. We could not fault one single aspect of our experience. We greeted by the hostess and sat at a table immediately, our waitress came over to get our drink order and throughout our visit was available while not hovering. We will definitely be back.
The food was prepared perfectly. Beet salad was chilled the way I like . The entrées were the right temperature except for the fact they came out as we were eating our salad. Way to soon . I asked for fresh Parmesan for my pasta dinner and it was The store-bought type not freshly ground cheese . It was quiet and we sat by the wood-burning stove it was a nice atmosphere . We will return for dinner again.
We went for my wife's birthday. We were seated at our favorite table by the fireplace, which was great since it was a cold night. Our waitress, Molly, was lovely and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. My wife gave her some mask lanyards to hold her mask in place when not in use. She was very appreciative. The adult strawberry lemonade was delicious as was our meals: tacos and chicken marsala.
Food was very tasty we came out nice and hot just a nice place to go have finner
Thanksgiving
The waitress was nice but gave wrong information regarding menu items. She didn’t know what kind of Scotch that the bar had admitted that she was not familiar with alcohol. My friend ordered a vodka with tonic and it came in a water glass with a big straw I ordered a vodka with a splash of cranberry and it came in a rocks glass and cost $2.00 more.
The Scampi on a skewer didn’t have any taste of garlic/ butter at all and was served over brown rice with carrots & peas. The roasted Chicken with cavatelli pasta and veggies in garlic sauce was very salty and soupy.
I loved our cozy table by the fireplace! Everything was outstanding (as always)!
Everything was great. Our server went above & beyond to make us comfortable.
Was lovely!
Food was quite good. Great time excellent service
Eaten here several times. Great service and food. Varied menu.
Enjoyed the food and service.
We went for outside dining with a view and we got a view it was relaxing until the train came screaming by. Food was mediocre, swordfish was previously frozen over cooked and was served with frozen vegetables for a side. My dining partners meal came with under seasoned chicken over mushy angel hair pasta. Our waitress served our dinner without removing our appetizer dishes and salad plates we received very little attention at a not very busy time of 5 pm
Met a friend for lunch outside. Great food and generous portions. Outside there is some road noise but there is also nice views of gothic style white church on a hill and Victorian style home across the street. Inside looked nice too. Historical tavern feel.
Food is great, very accommodating staff, staff is friendly, efficient, great alcohol beverage, nice atmosphere either inside or out, is becoming my favorite place to dine.
Sat outside on the patio dinnertime. The tables are spaced far enough apart to feel safe. Staff wears masks and menus are single use paper. My tavern burger was excellent. The peppercorn barbecue sauce was savory, not too sweet, which I liked. My wife's salad was a very generous portion and plenty of cheese and vegetables, not just a big plate of lettuce. They had several beers on tap, which is nice since many places where business has slowed have cut down on how many kinds of beer they serve these days. Good value for the money.
We sat at our favorite spot on the porch & both servers made sure everything we ordered were perfect, as I had asked for my cod to be prepared a special way, and it was with no sacrifice of flavor or freshness. The tuna app was so good and generous I might make this an entree next time.
Super, helpful, friendly staff. Food was very good, nice selection. Carrot Cake awesome!
The apps and dessert were great. The main course were not as good. I got the beef ravioli and know where in the description does it says it has mushrooms and it was a mushroom sauce not a cream sauce like it says ... I’m not a huge mushroom fan so it was disappointing.
Beautiful location on the front porch for a delicious dinner next to the patio heater just as the sun is setting. Throughly enjoyed our experience.
Excellent food great servers
I had the Ahi Tuna , it was excellent. We also had the steak skewers, out of this world. Great service at the bar and friendly staff.
Place is a must visit. The Steak Skewers were made with filet mignon, and the Pork Chop Was huge and delicious. We are coming back for St. Pattys Day.
So fun, easy and great food!
The ambiance and service was excellent. Food was just mediocre.
