   Very good food. If the butter had been softer, would have given it an excellent rating. Also server seemed to have too many tables to “keep up.”

   It was nice to visit a traditional restaurant with great food. I ordered the lamb chops which were superb. But they came with a large pile of green beans which were too crunchy for me, but tasty. My daughter had the Chilean Sea Bass. She's not a fish eater, but she loved her meal soup to nuts. Servers were diligent, and we never lacked anything. The big problem with Otto's is steps--lots of them. There's a ramp to get you up the first flight, but not the second. But there are good sturdy handrails. All in all, it was a great night out.

   Otto's is one of our favorite places for a special night out. It's a good place for both carnivores and pescatarians and a great place for those avoiding gluten. It's a varied but well-curated menu, and all but three of the entrees are gluten free.

   Food was great. Timing of service was great. Server was great. The only thing we would have appreciated was that we were at a table VERY near two other tables in a dining room that was otherwise empty. Tight quarters for me near the wall & my husband who was so close to another guest that they bumped into each other as one tried to adjust their seat. I will say that when we made the reservation, they asked if the meal was to celebrate an event, which I indicated it was (both of us had had birthdays recently). We also mentioned it to the hostess. Somehow that was forgotten or ignored. It's not a big deal, really, but why ask on the reservation if there was not intent to follow up? Anyway, we would definitely return! We have been to Otto's 3 times and have always had a fabulous meal and a wonderful time. Thanks everyone!

    Beautiful setting in Madison, wonderful service and tasty food. The scallops were tender and very flavorful. The crab cakes were beautifully plated and the red pepper sauce was delicious

    My girlfriend and I go a couple times a year for special occasions. The food is second to none. It’s really one of the most underrated places in Madison. I can’t recommend enough that people try it out, phenomenal food and service as always!

    Made a reservation for lunch. Somehow, in the comments section of the reservation through Open Table it looked as if we requested service with someone named Kelly (no idea how this happened). When we arrived, the hostess/waitress named Tracy informed us Kelly would not be helping us as requested, because she had been fired and we should trust her when she told us that Kelly was awful. After that awkward introduction we sat down at our table and tried to have a conversation which was consistently interrupted by the same waitress taking a call for the restaurant in the dining room that must not have gone well as she raised her voice and appeared to hang up on the caller. She then proceeded to yell across the room to another employee and tell them all about it and they very loudly discussed how awful the person was and how they had previously had a fight with them. Finally, another couple arrived to eat and the two employees toned things down. Fortunately, the food was excellent and Tracy became more pleasant as the meal went on. I don’t think we’ll ever plan to go there for lunch again though.

    Had a great meal. Our entrees were excellent. Our wine was very good. Our server was very nice and was very good at their job. Couldn’t ask fora nicer time.

    The food at Otto’s is always outstanding and we enjoy meeting friends here as well as celebrating events. We know tables are crowded together and it is loud but I don’t know what can be done about that.

    Ottos was my longtime fav higher-priced local restaurant for special occasions. First time back in 3 years! Food was ok, some entrees better than others. A scallop salad with 2 scallops for $26 seems crazy. Service good given staff shortage. (We waited 1 hour + for entrees.) A group next to us was very, very loud, disrupting our hope for easy conversation.

    We had some appetizers which were very good and so was our meals. The issue is in the seafood trio it had 1 scallop, 2 shrimp and salmon. The salmon was the perfect size but I felt it could of included a couple more shrimp and scallops. The other meal was the lobster with mashed potatoes and it was just right.

    My wife & I tried Otto’s for the first time for a special occasion. Not our ideal ambience/atmosphere for that purpose, but we enjoyed the food (salmon) and will go back. Specifically, to check out the bar and patio, but also to try several items on the menu we didn’t get to. If you’re wondering, our hostess was friendly and sat us quickly. Our server was fine: nice enough and attentive. The only knock, if we had to name one, is that our food came out before we ordered the wine to go with it. Also, we appreciate when our servers *really* know the menu, wines, etc. well; but, in this case, it was the old “I like X, and Y is good — but everything on the menu is good.” Note: Their drink specialties are martinis, if that’s your thing.

    I love Otto's for lunch. It is a hidden gem. Traci is a super friendly waitress and fun to have as a server. The food is great, and the prices are reasonable. Especially during the holidays, it was a treat! Lynn Green :)

    Otto's has always been one of our favorite places to go for a lovely evening out. The food is always outstanding, the service is impeccable, and it's fancy without being "stuffy". This was a great place for a quiet, but special, celebration.

    Dinner was amazing!! Our server Tracy, was wonderful! Table next to us obnoxiously loud and wouldn’t take the hint to keep it down. One gentleman’s voice was as if he had a built in megaphone. I couldn’t hear my wife talking so not nearly as romantic as it could have been. But still, amazing dinner. We will be back!!

    Dinner was very good. Our server Kristen was impeccable yet very friendly. Sea bass was great, Filet was great, Seafood Trio had only one mussel and two shrimp. Very tasty but a bit meager on portion size. Ambiance was very warm and personal. Definitely will eat here again.
