   Laguna Beach is so lucky to have a great restaurant like Oto Sushi. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is inviting (though can be loud when it’s full), and the service is wonderful. Dylan was our server tonight and he’s simply the best - attentive, checks in to make sure everything is good with the food and drinks, and is really nice! I’d ask for his table again in a heartbeat. The food selection is wide enough that even the pickiest eater can find something to love and it all comes from the kitchen perfectly prepared. We’ll definitely be back!

   We met the owner who is incredibly charming and passionate about sushi. And who convinced us to come back for the hamburger, which will will be definitely doing. What a fantastic new addition to Laguna!

   We spent our 46th Wedding Anniversary at the sushi bar at ÓTO. We were very impressed upon first greeting by our server, Trenton, who was a bundle of knowledge and energy. He carefully went over the menu, which is always welcome in a new restaurant. The best surprise was Chef Marvin, who asks all of your preferences before providing a delectable feast. He was very communicative and knowledgeable. This was a fantastic, affordable dinner (Happy Hour 4:30-6:00 most days). We will return often!

   Below average sushi for premium prices. Some dishes were served warm that should have been hot.

While we always welcome feedback, we want to clarify that the two hot dishes served at your table—our grilled octopus and garlic edamame—are prepared and traditionally served warm, not piping hot. Our team checks in regularly during service and is always happy to remake or re-fire a dish if it’s not to your liking, but we didn’t receive any feedback at the table during your visit. Had we known, we absolutely would have addressed it on the spot. We stand by the quality and sourcing of our ingredients and are always happy to hear directly from guests to improve.    Great service and attention to detail… food was amazing as always. Anytime I have company I always take them to this place, I know it’s going to be great. No surprises or disappointments. Thank you to all the team…

   We really loved the presentation, food quality and the vibe when Oto first opened. Our trip last night was ok, not a bad experience by any means. But, it's not comissurate with the costs.

   We were looking forward to our towns, new sushi restaurant and unfortunately, we were dissatisfied. The Fuji silk roll was too sweet. The hokey pokey roll tasted stale, lacking flavor. The seasoning hid the flavors of tho fish, making us wonder if the fish was of poor quality. The air-conditioning vents leaked on us and it was so noisy wehad to yell to be heard. While it was packed for Thursday night, I don’t think we’ll be going back again.

    Great interior design. It's the best of California coastal meets Japanese clean aesthetic. The food was delicious - - a great combination of flavors and sensation.
