Italian
Since opening in 2007 Osteria has become one of the country’s most critically acclaimed Italian restaurants, earning Chef Jeff Michaud the 2010 James Beard Foundation Award for “Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic” for his work helming the kitchen.
Michaud's classic take on Italian cuisine presented the perfect addition to Schulson Collective with Osteria's award-winning menu of antipasti, homemade pastas, house-cured salumi, authentic Neapolitan and Roman-style pizzas, wood-grilled meats, seafood and decadent desserts.
Complementing this menu is a fine selection of wine, handcrafted cocktails and craft beer.
Classically designed to have a warm, evocative aesthetic in an industrial setting, Osteria’s spacious dining room, glass-enclosed patio and private dining rooms—including a chef’s table—make it the perfect place for occasions of all scopes and sizes, whether it’s a quiet night out with friends and family, or a boisterous celebration with dozens of guests.

The food was absolutely delicious. We eat out about once a week, and this was definitely notable. You must try the charred octopus.

Osteria for Restaurant Week is the move. $35 for the tasting menu that usually costs $58. 7 dishes to share with your table. Food was amazing and we brought home leftovers!

I love their convivio tasting menu and come here every year for restaurant week! Your table gets SEVEN dishes--two antipasti, two pastas, two entrees, and a dessert (plus some tasty bread). You can tell the ingredients are super high quality. The standout dish of the evening for me was the burrata. I'd had burrata before elsewhere, but I've never had any that tasted so perfectly fresh. The pastas are also made fresh every day, and are the perfect texture every time.

Not a good night. We love Osteria but Wednesday night- Restaurant Week was a disaster. First, it was ridiculous that they changed their policy and everyone at the table has to order the same entree to share. How do four people do that, especially with food allergies? We kept asking for bread;the pasta came out cold but we were hungry so we ate the pasta dishes which were delicious. Mussels were horrible and had to be sent back- underdone and awful taste. The chef sent out scallops and a polenta dish which were fine. Still no bread. The girl took out the Branzino. My son is not a real fish eater but he went along with us bc of the one entree fits all policy. The girl threw two dishes with whole, unfilleted fish. We have ordered Branzino all over the city, NJ and New York. They usually bring it out whole and fillet it at the table or ask if you want it brought out filleted. I asked if they fillet it when she dropped it on the table and I got such a nasty NO! I told her to take it back. She asked if she could get it filleted, would we want it. We said yes. She came back, again threw the dishes in the table and said - we really don’t do that. They removed the head, sliced it lengthwise and left all the bones. It was even presented as two slices, just tossed on a dish. We had to pick through it to avoid bones. We gave up. When we left we asked where the pasta was that we asked to be boxed. The girl said- I have to get your waiter. He said- Oh you didn’t get it? Let me check. We were on our way out when he came back with the bag. Never had a night like this at Osteria. Waiter said- we were really crowded tonight.

My party and I thought the food was amazing! However, I was very disappointed with the quality of service. After making a reservation (3 weeks in advance) my party and I had to wait 45 minutes past our reservation. We were approached my the manager who promised us complimentary pizza as soon as we sat down. After being seated for 10 minutes we had a ask about the pizza. We did get the pizza 20 minutes later but did not speak to the manager again. I was very excited to try this spot since I live in the neighborhood and have heard such great things but I was very disappointed.

Had an amazing dinner with my girlfriend at Osteria as part of restaurant week, our server Colin was very knowledgeable and accommodating, and just about every aspect of the dinner was enjoyable and we felt like very valued guests. Infact, my girlfriend has a food allergy and Colin went as far as to offer to change the fixed menu to better accommodate her, class. Also it was her birthday and Colin put a sparkler on a small bowl of ice cream, really meant alot to her. Food was great, and the atmosphere was very romantic. Lovely.

We dined here during Restaurant Week.
What an incredible dining experience.
We've dined here before and Osteria continues to shine.
Our server, Erin was awesome. The pacing was spot on.
Each course was perfectly prepared and presented.
Make sure to add Osteria to YOUR "bucket list."

Haven't been in a long time, and now I have no clue why! Always spot on with flavor - from drinks to apps to mains. Beautiful plating, fabulous desserts. It was restaurant week and quite noisy, so I missed our server's name but he was amazing as well! Most definitely one of the best spots in the city.

First let me say that the food was excellent. We especially enjoyed the grilled octopus which was tender and perfectly seasoned. The wine list has a great variety of Italian wines. Our sever was friendly and attentive, but there was a long gap between the appetizers and the pasta course. We ordered three pastas but only received two. The main course came and we had to remind the wait staff about the third pasta. We chose Osteria because it was on the list of restaurants participating in restaurant week on that date and we do like the food there. The restaurant called at 1:00 that afternoon to confirm our reservation and notify us they were not participating in restaurant week. A little late to change plans as we do not live in Philly and were spending the weekend in town partly due to restaurant week. A little prior notice would have been nice.

We waited an hour past our reservation time before we were seated. The restaurant didn’t offer anything to compensate.

The “chef’s selection” dessert was horrible, salty, and undercooked.

Out of 7 dishes only 2 were well-prepared. The others were either tasteless, over salted, or had a strong fishy taste (but no actual fish).

I would not go again

We had a reservation for 7:30 and we weren’t seated until 8:10, not sure if the kitchen was running behind but they tried to make up for it and give us a comp app. Over all besides the wait, food was decent and waiter was great .

The food is innovative and delicious. Portions were sizable, except for the scallops which were our least favorite course anyway. Tops on our list were the roasted vegetable appetizer, the chicken liver rigatoni, the pumpkin filled pasta and the ossobuco monkfish.

We went for restaurant week and the deal was amazing. We did the tasting menu for much less than it would normally cost. The cheese plate was delicious, all the pasta we ate could not have been cooked better. Our main course was the branzino and it was so good. We also got to sit in the glass enclosed patio area which I loved. Will definitely try again

Restaurant week menu did not state family style with full table agreement, which made ordering difficult given dietary restrictions of one person at the table. Otherwise, food was very good.

We went on a Thursday of a restaurant week. This was our 4th attempt at going (no fault of the restaurant), so we went with it... although we arrived right at our 7:30pm reservation time, the place was packed and seemingly every reservation was behind.

We took a seat in the lounge by the bar to wait it out and were very promptly greeted by a server Ian who took our drink order.

I’d say about 15-20 minutes after, a hostess retrieved us and seated us. As it was very busy, the noise level was high but wow, did the food make any discomfort from crowding and noise negligible. (I’m not crazy for crowds!)

Seriously, well presented and amazed the taste buds. I twice said to my girlfriend that I didn’t want to drink anything after eating (Branzino and the dessert) bc I didn’t want that taste washed away from my tongue. And even on a restaurant week presentation menu... decent portions and we did not leave hungry or wanting something different.

Kudos to Devon our waiter and the staff who were poised and pleasant throughout a completely hectic night.

Can’t wait to return.

Three of us went to Osteria for Restaurant week. We started off with a cocktail which was was very good, but quite small for the price. Our experience included picking a couple of things from several categories. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the pastas! The service and ambiance was also very good. Everyone was working very hard. The experience allowed us to try many things for a set price of $35 per person. The wine was also good, but overpriced. We would definitely go back!

Visited Osteria on a Wednesday night during restaurant week. Their 4-course chef's tasting menu for $35 was an outstanding value. Everything we ordered was excellent. The only blemish on the evening was an unexplained delay in getting our burata appetizer, but that was only a minor inconvenience. I can't wait to go back!!!

Went for Restaurant Week. They offer the Chef's Tasting Menu for the $35 pris fixe. Amazing value! The plates just kept coming and coming, with each one more delicious than the last. I have found Osteria to be a bit pricy in the past, but this deal is really fantastic. Take advantage of it if you can!

Dinner at Osteria, went for an early dinner; it was Mussels night, all you can eat. 1 person got those and said they were delicious. Someone else got chicken farm and I got crab cakes. Dinners came with small salad except for mussels dinner. My crab cakes were good but could have been more flavorful, I think they needed more spices. The 2 dinners came with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. The waitress was very attentive and gave me more tea. It was quiet as we came earlier. Will go back again as was a good dinner.

Second time at Osteria, first time with my wife and adult children. Oustanding service, very good food, attractive space. Having spent lots of time in Italy, this seems to me food comparable to a solid Italian mid-level restaurant, with a few challenges in terms of ingredient price and availability. Both the porcinis in the pasta and the octopus seemed to me smallish portions, and the octopus was a bit overcooked for my taste.

Comparing Osteria to other Italian eateries in the U.S., this was a good to excellent meal. I'll certainly return.

Osteria is always excellent and by coming during Restaurant Week, it's a bargain, too. Osteria excels in all aspects of running a restaurant. The food is always well prepared and relatively simple, with each dish featuring only a handful of ingredients that mix well.
